Dirty Sexy Money: How Related Are We?

Dirty Sexy Money: How Related Are We?

Posted by Dustin on 11.22.2007 at 1:38 pm

Last week’s episode of “Dirty Sexy Money” mostly surrounded Karen Darlings failed attempt at a marriage to Freddy. She actually married him, but then when he said he really did love her, she got it annulled the same day! Karen told Nick it was always about him and kissed him. Opps! I’m thinking giving Letitia tried to cause trouble for Nick’s marriage to Lisa by telling her about the kiss, that we can count Karen out as Nick’s sister via the affair with Dutch.

Other stories going on this and last week, Brian fought for custody of Little Brian. His mother returned and decided she wanted to take him back to Brazil, but planned to make sure Brian supported him in the lifestyle he had become accustomed to. Seems like the mom planned on making a buck off the kid? They met with an arbitrator, and when it looked like Brian was about to lose, he bribed the arbitrator! Will it work? I don’t know.

Patrick’s wife found out about Carmelita, she refused to let the affair break them up or stop them from getting to the White House, saying she didn’t marry a Darling for nothing. So she too has her eyes on the prize, but seems to really love Patrick. They made arrangements to share Patrick, but a furious wife didn’t like when he came home to her after “talking” with the mistress. She shot him in the leg!

This week Tripp invited Simon Elder to a country house for Thanksgiving. Nick convinced him to go, that this wasn’t a trap. All hell broke lose! We learned a whole lot, but were still left with a lot of questions. It seems Simon Elder’s parents worked for Tripp’s parents, Simon’s mother was Tripp’s father’s mistress! Yeah can we see where this one is going? Simon’s family was deported to the USSR, Simon blames Tripp or his father for reporting them. Simon’s parents ended up killing in some kind of a concentration like camp, and Simon was left an orphan. He made something of himself and now is possibly back for revenge against Tripp? Not so fast! Tripp later told Nick it was actually Dutch who reported Simon’s parents, which would give Simone a reason to want Dutch dead. Simon later told Nick that the theories that Tripp killed his older brother to take over the Darling empire aren’t just crazy Internet conspiracy theories!

So, as it stands, it looks like both Tripp and Simon were capable of killing. I have a feeling Simon IS a Darling, that is why he wants revenge. Perhaps Dutch found this out? So I think Tripp could have knocked him off to keep him quiet. I mean if Tripp killed his brother to get the empire, he won’t want anyone else popping up to make a claim either. Then again, Simon could have done it for revenge. I’m so confused, but loving the show still.

Heroes: Dead . . . . Then Not Dead!

Heroes: Dead . . . . Then Not Dead!

Posted by Dustin on 11.20.2007 at 7:02 pm

Okay so once again, I have to re-watch last nights “Heroes.” But I paid attention enough to make the comments I want to. Lately I’ve been busting my butt trying to finish some school work I wanted to get turned in by Thanksgiving, but it looks like it won’t be in until next week. Anyway, onto “Heroes.”

Matt found himself with changing abilities this week. No longer can he just read minds, like his father he’s now beginning to be able to influence minds. He discovered this with Molly, and later put it to the test with Angela. He questioned her about the photo, wanting to know who that last remaining woman in the photo who they know is the only one left alive (aside from Angela, Adam and his father Maury). Angela knew his game and seemed to resist telling him if he took this secret he was as bad as his father! I think she definitely has some kind of mind control powers of her own as she knew just how to fight Matt off, but in the end it seems she coughed up the name. She also revealed Adam doesn’t just heal, he grows very old. It seems Claire is possibly destined to be immortal like Adam?

I have to say, I’m a bit peeved Matt didn’t get a back story last week filling us in what went on with him. I guess we are to assume that his ex-wife was knocked up with the partners kid, they got divorced and he moved to New York? It would be nice to understand how he, Mohinder and Noah all got involved in this plot to bring down “The Company.”

Hiro went back in time, far far back in time, and met up with his younger self at his mother’s funeral/grave. He also went back to see his father, intending on saving him from dying. In the end he didn’t, I guess realizing he cannot change the past without changing the future. He learned Kensei is the one who killed his father, which explains how he survived the fall to walk away. However at his father’s funeral Hiro made the odd announcement his father wasn’t dead . . . . he lived on in him. I’m wondering what is going on here. Is Kaito really dead? I think we could be in for another twist, especially since we know Kaito and Angela had a thing going on.

Most of the episode centered on Surresh, Noah, Claire and Wes. Noah told his wife about the paintings and how it looked like he was doomed to die. He had a talk with Wes, and they actually formed a friendship and partnership once Noah realized what was to happen. Surresh showed up, saying they needed Claire as her blood could save many. Noah wasn’t about to give her up. Surresh managed to kidnap Claire, while Noah got Elle. Hmmm, all too convenient? The plan was to basically trade the two, but that is when it all went wrong. Knowing the outcome, Noah had Wes fly Claire off to safety. Elle zapped them, but they survived the fall thanks to Claire. Crunch! Noah shot Elle, then was about to kill Bob and bring down the whole company when it happened . . . . Surresh shot him right in the eye!

The final scene was Noah, dead in the morgue . . .but then coming back to life! It appears he somehow got Claire’s blood to heal him, but how? Only Surresh knew that could possibly happen, though he did tell this to Noah. So did Noah give himself a transfusion to save himself . . . or was Surresh in it all from the beginning as well? Did Surresh shoot Noah after giving him Claire’s blood, knowing it would save him? That they could figure out what is really going on? I’m so confused! Also does this mean Noah now has the healing power?

Weeds Finale

Weeds Finale

Posted by Dustin on 11.20.2007 at 2:42 pm

So last night was the season finale of “Weeds” on Showtime. I had stopped blogging about “Weeds” because I didn’t feel I had much to say. The first half of the season I felt was a downer, but after Uturn was killed the season started to pick up slowly.

Nancy’s run-in with Peter’s ex infuriated me. I couldn’t believe she felt she was owed that money. You got divorced honey, most people change their life insurance when they get divorced! I get she felt it should go to her son, but she was a bitch about it with Nancy. Nancy was planning to give her the money, but the woman screwed it up when she hired a PI to find out was Nancy was up to. Oopsie! Nancy had to pay off blackmail to get him off her back, no more money.

I loved that Celia was forced to take care of her ex after he had his bike accident, and she tortured him into telling her about the weed growing business. Instead of turning them in, she joined them all! Celia and Heylia bonding at the end of the season was hilarious. I loved that they finally started giving Heylia more of a role again.

Nancy and company got messed up with some weed growing bikers when they were in between crops, and the bikers weren’t going to play nice. Nancy had to turn to the Latino gang to help her out. She and their leader had a little something going on all season, but it never seemed to go anywhere. I kinda wished it had. They helped Nancy out in getting rid of the bikers, but started brush fires . . . .whoops. It was an awesome season finale, but with terrible timing giving the real life fires that just happened in California. The show ended with Nancy burning down her house with the plan to start fresh elsewhere. Does this mean no more “Little Boxes” for next year? Where will they be relocating to? A change of scenery could be fun, but wouldn’t most of the cast be left behind? Hmmm . . . . .

Ugly Betty: Bradford Dies!

Ugly Betty: Bradford Dies!

Posted by Dustin on 11.17.2007 at 4:25 pm

So finally caught up on “Ugly Betty.” Wow what a sad episode! As usual I’ve been overworked this week and only half watched it while doing some other things.

Most of the episode dealt with Bradford in the hospital dying. Alexis wanted him to let go, Daniel didn’t want him going near the light! Their little talk about the light was so cute, yet oddly morbid at the same time.

Bradford FINALLY wised up that Willamina never loved him, so she was out in the cold, not able to have a hospital wedding before it was too late. He realized Claire was the only woman who ever really loved him. Claire came to see him, but got busted! It looks like she’s back to jail.

Daniel talked to Betty about why she “betrayed him” and he then invited her back to work, but she didn’t think she could return to work. Later though as she was with Bradford, he asked her to look after Daniel for him and then died. This was such a sad scene!

As the show ended, Willamina hatched a plan to help secure her future, and asked a medical student for help. Hmmm, I’m not sure what she’s planning, but it can’t be good. I appears she’ll somehow act like they did get married, though Betty does know the truth that he didn’t marry her.

With Bradford gone, and Wilamena taking over next week, I am really hoping the show will give Judith Light (Claire) and even bigger part. I’m still convinced she was so sloshed she didn’t kill Fay Summers (hell I am still thinking Fay Summers is still ALIVE). I want to see Claire released to take on Wilamena!

Project Runway: Your Out!

Project Runway: Your Out!

Posted by Dustin on 11.15.2007 at 11:58 pm

So last night Bravo debuted the new season of “Project Runway.” Did anyone watch? Any PR fans out there? I tuned in, but given the enormous amount of designers I can’t recall their names or half of what they did, so I don’t yet have any early favorites. Within a week or two I think I probably will.

I do have some issues with the winners and losers of this week’s show though. Let’s start with the guy who won, Rami. While his dress was beautifully made, it was GREY. It was BATTLESHIP GREY. Maybe this is the new it color in design, I don’t know. I do know in past seasons the judges often get bored with monotone colors, and to me this dress was a drab boring color. However at the same time, I didn’t like the runner up’s outfit much either (Christian I think).

Elise and Simone were in the bottom two, and they sent Simone home. They thought her outfit was poorly constructed and the jacket didn’t go with the dress at all. She was sent home, over Elise whose dress was a walking nightmare, literally! She tacked on this insane train that the model got caught up in. I think her saving grace was that if she had cut it off, the dress would have been good. I still don’t know if she deserved to stay over that other girl though. They did say her dress was well made and commented about it being one piece, which is hard to do.

Saturday Night TV Returns? Paige Davis Returns to Trading Spaces!

Saturday Night TV Returns? Paige Davis Returns to Trading Spaces!

Posted by Dustin on 11.15.2007 at 11:30 pm

For me, Saturday night TV is deader than dead. A few years ago it was all about “Trading Spaces,” until the ridiculous decision to fire host Paige Davis was made and the formula of the show was all screwed up. I all but stop watching, I think a lot of America did as well!

Well “Trading Spaces,” now under a new production company, has asked Paige to come back! Woohoo! Something to watch on Saturday nights again! The new episodes will begin airing in January and designers Doug Wilson, Laurie Hickson-Smith, Frank Bielec and Hildi Santo-Thomas will also return to the show, alongside carpenters and other designers to be announced later.

Ugly Betty Casting Rumors/Spoilers

Posted by Dustin on 11.15.2007 at 12:50 pm

The rumor going around and around the web lately is that Lindsay Lohan wants to, or is being courted, to appear on an episode of “Ugly Betty.”

For awhile now there has been a spoiler that an original cast member was being killed off the show. It now appears, both from previews and various interviews, that character is Bradford Meade! Alan Dale is leaving “Ugly Betty.”

Heroes: If I Could Turn Back Time

Heroes: If I Could Turn Back Time

Posted by Dustin on 11.14.2007 at 7:29 pm

So this week’s episode of “Heroes” went back four months to basically fill in all the missing pieces. Let’s discuss!

We learned that Peter obviously didn’t blow up after being flown off by Nathan, we knew that of course. He was later taken in by Bob and Elle, Elle who was adopted by The Company as a small child. The girl is clearly a sociopath and gets her kicks by shocking Peter! They promised Peter a cure, to make him normal again, and he believed them. They gave him drugs to suppress his powers. He met Adam in this “facility.” Adam was in the room next to Peter, and had been there for 30 years (I think that was how long he said). Adam informed Peter they were being held in a prison, not a facility to help them. We finally learned Adam is in fact immortal, so it appears. When Peter wised up that The Company wasn’t really looking to help him, he and Adam staged a break out. Adam kept going on about “Saving The World” and how years ago The Company tried to stop him and locked him up.

Meanwhile, Nathan was burned by Peter all over during the whole explosion thing, this is the source of him seeing himself burned in the mirror all this season. He was hospitalized and burned up until three weeks ago. This is when Peter and Adam, after breaking out of prison/The Company, sneaked in to see him. Adam’s blood cured him. Wait wait wait, does this mean Nathan is now immortal? Also wait wait wait, we had been lead to believe Nathan basically turned into a raging alcoholic and this was the reason his wife left and took the kids. He can’t have turned into an alcoholic in three weeks time! What is going on here?

Angela had a talk with Nathan’s wife Heidi, telling her the deep dark secret of the Patrelli men. She basically was just covering up for what Nathan was muttering about flying and saving the world, claiming their father had these same grand delusions of saving the world. She said it drove him mad, and to kill himself; so Heidi may want to distance herself from him and not tell anyone what she heard here. Hmmmmmmmm.

This once again got me thinking about the theory that Adam is the Patrelli boys father. Adam keeps going on about saving the world, this is what Angela said drove her husband mad. He supposedly killed himself long long ago. Adam said he was locked up for 30 years? Well that kinda is a little too long to be Peter’s father, unless we are to believe that Peter is right about 30 years old. And if Peter was basically a babe when this happened, he might not know what his dad looks like, especially if mama Patrelli didn’t keep photos around. I mean why else would Adam risk going to the hospital to save Nathan? Because Nathan is his son?

If Adam isn’t their father, I definitely think he is somehow great grandpappy to all the current heroes. Given he’s 400 years old, that’s plenty of time to make your way around the world spreading your DNA! I think every hero will be linked back to him.

Finally we learned the fate of DL in this episode. While he survived the drama at the end of last season, he was later taken out during a random act of violence. Nikki was offered help curing her split-personalities by Bob. She said she was rid of Jessica, but Bob said more personalities could emerge. She agreed to take the power suppressing pills they had Peter on, not wanting to check herself in for help, but they made her numb. When she stopped taking them, a new personality named Gina emerged! She ran off to LA, when DL came for her he was shot by some jerk in a club. Now we know how DL died. So sad!

I’m beginning to wonder more and more if we’ve all basically been duped by “The Company.” Bob claims Adam was the dangerous one, they locked him up and Linderman and Maury have been acting as his pawns. Well that’s clearly not the case, as Angela too helped Linderman with his plots for Peter and Nathan willingly. What if Adam was the good one and THAT is why they locked him up? For fear he’d expose all their evil plans and stop them? I honestly think that is where the storyline is headed!
