Desperate Housewives: Tornado Aftermath
So we finally got a new episode of “Desperate Housewives,” but it was bittersweet as there are no new ones left and we once again have a huge cliffhanger we are left with.
The show started with rescue workers digging through the rubble to find Lynette’s family. They all survived, but Ida unfortunately did not. Later Lynette learned that Ida sent her kids into a closet for safety, but there wasn’t enough room for her, and this is why she was killed. Of course this gave poor Lynette a major case of the guilts. She helped Karen pack up Ida’s things and later spread her ashes at a baseball field as she wished. I’m hoping this will bring Karen and Lynette closer and we’ll see more of a friendship between these two in the future rather than Lynette using her as a babysitter.
Poor Gabby first learned she got cut out of Victor’s will, then she learned there were no extra copies of Carlos’ Cayman Island’s account records to access it and now they’ve lost it forever too. They are broke! To top it off, Carlos has been blinded by the accident and is afraid to tell Gabby. Something tells me he’ll get a miraculous recovery at some point though.
Mike was gone for this episode, having checked into rehab. Bree’s house was destroyed so she’s living with Susan and Julie, as are Orson, Andrew and the baby. Susan and Julie got a little too accustomed to having Bree basically be their live in maid and chef. Bree threw a party to pimp Andrew out to her contractor, who was gay and just dumped and thus felt he couldn’t work. Bree wouldn’t have this, she couldn’t get a new contractor as they were all taken. Of course Susan didn’t want to lose Bree, so she set out to sabotage the pairing. It was pretty hilarious as they battled over whether Andrew and this guy should date. In the end the contractor fled, and Bree confronted Susan. Poor Susan confessed she felt like her life was spinning out of control and having Bree here taking care of her was the only thing keeping her sane. Okay Mike is going to be out in thirty days, is she still going to want Bree and her family there when he gets home? I think not! She didn’t think that far ahead.
Katherine kicked Adam out after learning he really did have an affair. However Adam found the note Katherine’s aunt left for Dylan. He confronted Katherine saying he in fact was leaving her, and they were about even in the deception department. It seems Katherine claimed “what” happened was her ex-husband’s fault, but the truth is it was hers! Of course we still don’t know what the “it” that happened is, and now it looks like we have to wait till the fall to find out.
Noooooooooooo!
What does everyone think happened? I was convinced maybe the ex-husband died and Dylan did it, and that is what Katherine is covering up. But clearly that isn’t the case anymore. Is the ex-husband even alive? We still don’t know that much anymore honestly. He might be, it seems Katherine really didn’t want Dylan going looking for him. Grrrrr, he is the key obviously, he knows what happened and what Katherine did.
Just a reminder, Andrew is not living at Susan’s house, he got his apartment earlier in the season 🙂
The Katherine story is the most intriguing story on DH in a while, I think. It sucks having to wait for the conclusion…I do think there is still a possibility Dylan did it, given her reaction at the end of the show.
Gabby is broke again, not a shocker, she’ll find her way out of it somehow! Probably find a way to blackmail Victor’s father or something…
Gotta say, Lynette is in prime form this season, though I was hoping for a little more drama in digging her family out.

Also quite the interesting concept that Karen’s “two” require a pitcher of beer and a dark corner in a bar….

Regarding the Dylan Katherine storeyline. Earlier in the season Julie had a conversation about Dylan with Susan. During the conversation she said that “Dylan was not the same girl” (that’s not a direct quote, but close to what she said). I understood that to mean that Dylan was not Dylan, meaning a completely different person. Did anyone else think that?

Rach…I think a lot of us thought that to mean Dylan was a completely different person until Katherine made a coment while standing in Dylan’s old room that it was good that Dylan hadn’t remembered what happened in there.

I was surprised they didn’t drag out the “trapped in the cellar” drama more in this episode, but we knew how that was going to turn out, anyway. (No way they’d take out one of the kids or Tom.)
Correction: Ida had the kids get under the stairs, but then there wasn’t room for her so she went to the corner, which was her demise.
Found it interesting that they didn’t mention that Ida’s cat saved Lynette and Karen. Had the cat not run out and they not go after it, there would’ve been more people not under the staircase… (Too bad Lynette was hatin’ on the cat.)
Agree — it sucks we have to wait till ??? to see any more of this show.
