The Chicago Tribune has revealed that Mary McDonnell will begin her multiple episode arc on “Grey’s” on November 13th as Virginia Dixon, a surgeon who comes to the hospital and tries to set down rules in the OR. Hmmmm, sounds like a plan of The Chief’s to me to try and get some order back among his staff.

Melissa George also appears in her first of eleven episodes on November 13th as new intern Sadie, who has a past with Meredith. She’s bisexual and it’s revealed she and Meredith once had a “thing.” Also it’s been spoilerish-rumored that this is the character who might cause problems for the Erica-Callie romance.

Finally Kevin McKidd’s character of Owen could become a regular by the end of this season if all goes well.

A Grey’s Wedding?

A Grey’s Wedding?

Patrick Dempsey had a comment for USA Today about the future of Meredith and Derrek and a possible wedding.

There may be. I think so. I don’t think it will be a typical marriage. Rumor has it something might be happening. I think they have to. It’s time for them to get together.”

What do we think? I don’t know, it almost sounds like they are forced to get married because of something, like to keep one from testifying against the other?

The Hollywood Reporter has reported that Teri Polo will join “Ghost Whisperer” for two episodes later this season as the fiancee of someone close to Melinda (Jennifer Love Hewitt).

Hmmmmmm, thoughts? Why am I getting the feeling she’ll appear as Payne’s new found fiancee, showing up to explain a prolonged absence to Melinda?

Ugly Betty: Gio’s Return

Ugly Betty: Gio’s Return

Posted by Dustin on 10.22.2008 at 5:59 pm

In last week’s episode of “Ugly Betty,” Alexis told Daniel she knew he wasn’t DJ’s father, but she was, and she apologized. She planned to give up her parental rights and wouldn’t say anything. Alexis got community service, thanks to a campaign contribution to the Assistant DA from Claire, until Willy stepped in and had a sexcapade with the Assistant DA and changed his mind.

Daniel meanwhile had his own legal troubles, DJ’s grandparents knew Daniel wasn’t DJ’s father and were coming to get him. He met them, and they were lovely people. Still he panicked and ran with DJ. I thought this was an interesting twist, that the grandparents weren’t horrible people at all, that they simply wanted a last connection to their daughter.

Gio returned for this episode, and he was a bit miffed with Betty for how things ended between them. She didn’t understand, they both had skewed versions of what happened. Betty thought they could be friends, and set out to win his friendship by getting him a supply of some fancy cheese he discovered in Rome, but was impossible to get. Gio however accused her of living in Betty Suarez Land where everything is happy and cheerful, he wasn’t about to just forgive her.

Gio and Betty did band together to help Daniel run with DJ, he said he was about to lose him to his grandparents. They went to Conney Island, and Betty didn’t understand how this could happen. Daniel blurted out that DJ wasn’t his son, which he heard and ran off. Daniel explained everything to Betty, who made him see the light. In lecturing Daniel she realized maybe Gio was right, sometimes she did live in her own little world, and they mended fences. However for fans of this couple, don’t get your hopes up. It seems Betty’s new love interest will be her new neighbor.

Daniel talked to DJ, saying he was sorry. He wanted him to be his son, but he’s not. He said his grandparents loved him and wanted him, and he knew he missed them and France. Daniel said he would like to be his really cool American Uncle. And just like that, all was resolved and it looked like DJ was off to France. I was mostly annoyed by this kid and this story, but now that he’s gone, I feel a little sad. I’m hoping the grandparents might see he needs Daniel as a father figure and send him back often for visits.

Back to Alexis, Willy offered to have the charges dropped, if she handed over her shares of Mead. Alexis said after screwing Daniel over once, she wouldn’t do it again, she’d go to jail. Claire however made Willy a deal, half of Alexis’ shares for her and half for Daniel, they’d be equals. Willy took it, and Alexis was freed. Alexis decided to leave to “find herself” (the actress is on maternity leave actually). I love Alexis, so I really hope they plan to keep her around. Claire was equally as awesome in this episode. I’m still waiting for someone to learn how Willy got ahold of Bradford’s, um, junk. That should knock her down a few pegs. Honestly I won’t be shocked if the baby ends up turning out to be Mark’s in some kind of weird failed cover-up!

The other story going on was the Hilda / Tony Diaz romance. Tony’s wife finally showed up, but mistook Betty for the woman Tony was sleeping with. She then went to Hilda, as Betty’s sister, begging her to ask her sister to stop seeing her husband. She talked about how she and Tony married young, went through hard times, but she still loved him and felt they could work it out. Hilda was guilt ridden and broke it off with Tony, telling him that she lost someone she loved once, she couldn’t do that to his wife. I really liked Hilda a lot for stepping up and taking the high road and doing the right thing, even if it hurt her. Is this the end for them? I’m not sure . . .

Army Wives: Mac Attack

Army Wives: Mac Attack

Posted by Dustin on 10.21.2008 at 9:12 pm

Emmalyn continued to date Logan this week, which caused problems for Logan on the base. He and another soldier got into a fight when Logan was accused of nailing the general’s daughter. Later Claudia Joy and Michael grounded Emma for lying to them and sneaking out to see Logan.

Jennifer Conners came around and once again pushed Emmalynn to date Logan. She knew what happened, her husband broke up the fight that morning. She gave her tickets to Coldplay, suggesting she give the other to Logan and they could just meet there.

I’m starting to think I get what Army Witch’s plan is. I think she wants Emmalynn to date Logan so it looks bad on Michael, who looked the other way for the soldier dating his daughter. That way he could be relieved of command and her hubby would take charge. By the end of the show, sure enough, Michael and Claudia Joy agreed to let Emma date Logan. They did so because they knew to forbid it would only push her into his arms quicker.

Joan and Roland tried to have a date night, leaving their daughter with Michael and Claudia Joy. However Joan couldn’t stand to be away from her, and Roland knew it. They got their romantic dinner to go and headed home. There wasn’t much to this storyline honestly. It’s interesting to see how Joan has gone from not even sure she wanted a child to not being able to be away from her.

Denise invited Mac, the wounded vet who gave her the bike, to speak at the “Warriors in Transition” group on the base. He returned and there were some serious sparks between them. I’m not sure I’m liking this. Frank is a jerk, but she’s still married. Also she’s gone from Getty to Mac in a short span. Next week it looks like she gets her Mac on in the sac with him! I think after the deed is done, she’ll get a call saying either Jeremy or Frank have been wounded. Let the guilt begin!

Finally Roxy’s mom returned this week, sober and having cleaned up her act, so she said. She also had a seemingly nice guy with her, her new fiance. She wanted to make things right with Roxy, who was having a hard time buying it. It seemed the mom was trying to do right, but not her fiance, who stole $380 bucks from Roxy’s cash register at some point. By the end of the show the guy was ditching Roxy’s mom, who was left crying and looking at a bottle of bourbon.

Heroes: Dying of the Light Thoughts

Heroes: Dying of the Light Thoughts

Posted by Dustin on 10.21.2008 at 2:48 pm

Thanks for all the well wishes, I’m much better now 🙂 Still trying to catch up and hope to be up to date come Wednesday (no shows to do tonight). I’ll keep doing just my thoughts (with whatever mini-caps are in them) till I’m caught up.

So we learned that Hiro did use his time travel abilities to “kill Ando.” He went back in time to warn him he would fake stab him, and to pretend to be dead. Then he got a fake swords and blood to make it look real. While it was a good trick, he still went back in time, which he himself said he wouldn’t do. Then he did it again later on when they were trying to find the precog in Africa, the mission Daphne gave him. While it was funny that he kept getting hit on the head, at this point he might as well go back and keep the formula from being stolen!

I’m really loving Daphne and Parkman, what little we saw of them together. I think Parkman won’t fall for the crap the new company “Pinehearst” is spewing. You can see Daphne’s already having conflict, not only with Hiro “killing” Ando but when she met and found out about Surresh, saying he was as bad as all the others. I think Parkman will turn Daphne good in the end.

Traci and Nathan went to see Surresh, hoping he could help them learn how to de-power them. He was all too happy to have them as his lab rats, and then soon realized Surresh had gone mad. Maya was in his web, is she dead? It doesn’t look good for her. I however am a bit bored with this storyline and am not sure yet as to where it’s going.

Claire and her mom went after “The Puppet Master” to save birth-mom Meredith. He made them play Russian roulette with each other, which had the predictable ending of Claire’s mom having to shoot Claire, though she was fine. HRG was called in to take the guy back into custody, and seemed impressed with Claire.

Nathan Petrelli fed off of Adam’s power, sucking him to death basically and healing himself. I’m not sure what his power is, if it’s a mix of Sylar and Peter’s ability? He seems to be able to hijack others powers, like he did to talk to Parkman’s dad and to get into Angela’s dream. Peter tracked his father down, hoping to learn what this new company wanted. He was shocked to see his dad alive, and his dad stole all his abilities upon hugging him!

It seems clear that Pinehearst is bad, but are they? Are we being duped? Also did anyone notice that the Pinehearst logo is the same symbol “The Company” branded on people in season 1 as tattoos?

True Blood: The Demon Within

True Blood: The Demon Within

Posted by Dustin on 10.20.2008 at 4:19 pm

In this latest episode of “True Blood,” Bill and Sookie’s love fest continued. We learned as they talked what went on with Uncle Bertram, why he was ostracized. Basically he’s a sick perv, who had thoughts of molesting Sookie as a kid. She told her grandma and she sent him packing

Afterward the love making, Sookie returned home to find Jason stealing their grandma’s things to sell, obviously for V. He was upset to see she had let Bill bite her, calling her a fangbanger. Meanwhile off Bill went to kill Uncle Bertram and dump his body in the swamp. I have to say I was rather shocked that this little back-story was wrapped up so quickly. I thought there would be much more to it. Also I’m kind of not liking that Bill ends up going out to kill everyone that hurts Sookie. I get it’s supposed to be romantic and he’s her undead hero, but it also makes him a killer as well.

Jason went to the Fangtasia Club to try and score some V, not exactly smart. I don’t think most vampires will willingly shed some blood for a mortal, rather they’d shed a mortals blood for themselves. But Jason isn’t exactly bright now is he. There he met some trippy hippie chick that took him home and they did V together and had sex while tripping on it.

The 3 mean nesting vampires were back this week, showing up at Merlots and causing trouble. They wanted to drain Sookie, and Sam started a fight with them. Of course who they were really after was Bill, who showed up sensing Sookie was in danger. They wanted him to join their nest and he agreed, most likely to get them out of Merlots. I also got the feeling he planned to finish the three of them off as well.

Unfortunately for Bill, the next day three guys from Merlot’s got the same idea and torched the house the nest was living in. Sookie showed up only to find four coffins with four bodies were pulled out. Is Bill dead? My guess is no, that someone else will be in the 4th coffin, probably someone shocking. Though from the previews it looks like all that’s left in the coffins is a mess of goop.

Also that following day the detective and a buddy, while out fishing, saw Sam running through the woods butt naked. Hmmmm, yet another clue that he’s a werewolf? There was another clue to that given as well, and if you blinked you missed it. The night before during the encounter at the bar, one of the people made the comment that “tonight was a full moon.”

The final story going on was Tara taking her mother to some voodoo priestess in the swamp to get her demon exorcised. The woman pulled the demon out, put it into an opossum, which she proceeded to drown. She said Tara’s mother’s demon was gone, but Tara had a demon of her own, but not like her mothers. Tara thought the woman was full of it, until she told her “Can you not keep a job? Don’t have many friends? Never had a real boyfriend?” She told Tara to come see her when she was ready for help. I don’t know where this is going. I don’t know if the mother even really had a demon, or if this was just some con-job. With the mother thinking the demon is out of her, maybe she’ll find peace? As for Tara’s demon, well I think hers is simple anger and hate.
