Ugly Betty: Heart Attack
So I fell way behind with “Ugly Betty” write-ups before Christmas. I’ve been watching the show, but like other shows I watch, I felt it was getting a little dull. I really am missing both Alexis and the use of Claire, I think it’s affected the show. It’s still entertaining, it just feels like something is missing.
In this episode Hidla was re-opening her salon, but disappointed that Betty was too focused on impressing the woman running Yeti (guest star Bernadette Peters) to help her. On one hand I felt for Betty, this is what she was working for and you’d think Hilda would understand that given she had her own business now. However at the same time, Hilda was always on hand to help Betty with her career when she needed it.
Marc helped Betty with one of their Yeti assignments, networking and making 40 new contacts. However one of the contacts was an assistant at Elle, who stole info from Betty and a dress they got for their cover. By stole I mean literally stole it from the designer by pretending to be Betty! Marc and Betty worked to steal it back. I have to say these two are great together. As much as I love Marc and Amanda, Marc and Betty are really great together too. I wonder when Amanda is going to end up getting jealous?
Willamenia and Daniel’s love for Conner and Molly continued, with Willamenia pushing Daniel to go after Molly as love only comes along once in a while. He thought she wanted something, but she assured him this was not a scheme. He figured out though she liked Conner, so there was something in it for her. He wasn’t mad though, and in the end Molly dumped Conner. Molly and Conner then hooked up with Daniel and Willamenia, separately of course. As much as I love Daniel and Willy getting along, I have to wonder what will happen if the truth of how Willy stole Bradford’s sperm ever gets out? It will kill this little truce they have going.
Finally as Betty was busy networking and impressing Jodi Papadakis (Bernadette), Ignacio had a heart attack. Betty had silenced her phone while at a party, so she didn’t get all the calls form Hilda. She arrived at the hospital to find her father in critical condition. So far he’s still alive, and I will be FURIOUS if they actually kill his character off. I don’t’ see how they can, he holds that whole family together.
Am I the only person who is totally annoyed with Betty’s selfish family? I mean, yes they are there for her but it’s like they expect her to be the Mother of the family and take care of everyone. She has to think about herself too. They rag on her about her crappy job and then they get mad when she tries to go the extra mile and get out of there.

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one feeling that way Beth! Betty’s trying to better her situation, but her family seems to feel she shoyuld drop everything to attend to them at a moment’s notice.
