Ghost Whisperer: Slow Burn? Slow Episode!
For me, last nights “Ghost Whisperer” was a snore. First up, Sam/Jim and Melinda danced around their connection, but finally agreed to try and go on a proper date. Of course the ghosts got in the way, making Sam think Melinda had stood him up and really wasn’t ready to date. She assured him that wasn’t the case and kissed him, so off they went on a late night date.
Clearly Melinda’s ghosts are going to get her into trouble, and it looks like that happens next week. I’m just afraid when she’s finally honest with Sam/Jim, he’ll think she’s nuts and walk off. I’m really afraid he’ll go after Nicole!
Meanwhile the entire ghost story this episode fell flat for me, as I thought it was uber predictable. In fact, I swear they’ve already done this story before, just a little different.
In the episode, a mother had died, leaving behind her husband and her daughter. The death was odd and mysterious. Also involved was a young man, who the mother had helped get out of juvie and get a new start on his life. She was a lawyer, her husband a judge. The husband didn’t like the guy, where as the daughter had fallen for him. The mother cared greatly for the young man, leading the daughter and husband to think she had had an affair with the kid.
Well when the woman’s ghost was hell bent on keeping the boy away from her daughter, it took me all of two seconds to realize somehow, this was a kid from a previous relationship. Sure enough, he was, and that was the big secret. She had given him up for adoption when she was younger and had just found him, but couldn’t tell her current family or him as she was scared. The son however figured it out, and then the mother died.
