The Grey/PP Crossover Event
I’m combining this past week’s thoughts on “Grey’s” and “Private Practice.” Also rather than providing a recap, I’m simply posting some key thoughts on what went on.
First up, like many, I was a bit letdown by “Grey’s” this past week. I expected more of “Private Practice” on it. It seems that comes next week.
Most of the show was taken up by McDreamy running around showing the engagement ring to everyone BUT Meredith and telling them his plans. Can we expect her to find out what he’s planning? That is my guess. Meanwhile Mark and Lexie are preparing to tell Derek and Meredith the truth, especially given they both found out about the proposal. I think Derek will take it worse than Meredith actually.
Then we had Christina and Owen walking around all dopey and in love. It was cheesy and funny, but got a bit old. By the end of the show Owen saw some woman he knew and freaked. From the previews, it sounds like she’s his fiance! Oops? I thought she’d be the fiance of someone he knew and died in Iraq.
Izzie was running tests on herself, and as everyone in the shoutbox was speculating, her interruptions mixed the tests up with the patient in the room who they believe has some brain tumor.
Finally they began the possibility of the Arizona and Callie love story in this episode. Callie is trying to get over Hahn and move on, and Arizona confronted her in the bar bathroom and told her when it was time, she’d have a line of people waiting. Callie didn’t think so, so Arizona laid one on her lips! I have to say, Arizona’s character is growing on me. I really enjoyed her interactions with Baily in this episode. Both she and the heart doctor pointed out to Baily how she really should go into pediatric surgery not general surgery, as that is where her heart seemed to lay. Looks like she’s going to take their advice. I wonder how The Chief will react? He seemed to be trying to groom her to take over for him when the time came.
Over to “Private Practice,” most of the show had to do with everyone in the practice coming together to help Archer, who was having seizures. He had been told he had some tumor and had anywhere from months to a few years left.
However as they investigated, they found out that Archer had a parasite in his brain, and Addison felt Derek could save him. They put Archer into a coma and Addison, Archer and Naomi flew to Seattle where Derek was waiting.
While Cooper dealt with a little girl abandoned by her horrid selfish parents, Violet finally told Pete and Cooper she was pregnant! I was so sure that Cooper would somehow end up adopting the little girl, but that didn’t happen. Meanwhile I still don’t know where the Pete and Sheldon stuff is going. Both men were upset that Violet assumed how they would react. Pete I think is warming up to the idea of kids, whereas Sheldon seems to keep being the nice guy.
I missed the beginning of Grey’s – was there any mention of Denny?

I think he might have been there, but not too much. Can’t remember, I was blanking out on Izzie’s scenes 🙂

There was no Denny this week!!!! I was soo happy about that. If Denny was on, it was on like the previously on Grey’s…

At least I got to hear George talk this week….well…3 Lines. Although I was dissapointed with the “Cross-Over”. This Week seems to be more of a Cross-Over than last week was. Still…I Miss George, but like Everyone said…YEA for NO DENNY!!! I also think Derek is really stupid..he of all people knows how easily Mer freaks out about things…why would he go around talking about it while she is there…dumb guys. I have the feeling mark is going to congradulate her and she will be clueless and somehow find out that he had everything set up and took it all down because Addison called! I am Looking forward to this Thursday….
even though I now prefer PP over GA

I didn’t pick up that the labs were mixed up. So Izzie is the one with the brain tumor? I thought Shonda promised it wasn’t a tumor!

I thought they said it was just some form of cancer

It’s something with her brain. Shonda said before it wasn’t a tumor, but we later learned it was some kinda brain anuerism or something tumor-like.

I am so confused. I have no idea how I missed that part of the episode. Thanks, Dustin.
