Heroes: October 19th Spoiler: Tabula Rasa
Spoiler release for October 19th’s episode Tabula Rasa
Spoiler release for October 19th’s episode Tabula Rasa
I realized I hadn’t made a post about “Glee” since the premier. Oops! It still remains my guilty pleasure and what I look forward to over anything else each week. I was gunna do one after this week, but the clip below gave me an excuse to do one now 🙂
First some thoughts. I do NOT like this whole baby story with the teacher’s nasty wife and Quinn. Clearly she’s going to try and adopt Quinn’s baby to pass on as hers. Noooooooo! This is way to “Days of Our Lives” to be on “Glee!” Grrrrr, that aggravated me.
As for the baby, I can’t believe Finn can be so dumb. Then again, given the whole abstinence club storyline, my guess is Finn probably hasn’t has sex-ed. I keep hoping he’ll tell Rachel or anyone the details so they can bring him back to reality and inform him you can’t get pregnant in a hot-tub.
I’m so glad Rachel came to her senses and quit the play. It seemed like she was the only one in it, besides a chorus of girls provided by the Cheerios.
The week with Kurt coming out to his dad, and the whole “Single Ladies” song was hilarious. I actually loath that overplayed song and over-spoofed video, but I loved how they did it in the show.
Last week with Kristen Chenowith guest staring has probably been my favorite episode to date. I just love her, and I really hope we see her again!
Anyway, this week there is supposed to be some kind of boys-vs-girls competition within the club going on. What follows is a clip of the boys singing Bon Jovi’s “It’s My Life.”
Bunches of ABC spoiler releases for the last weeks of October. Included are: “Brothers and Sisters,” “Castle,” “Eastwick,” “Housewives,” “Ugly Betty,” “Grey’s,” and “Private Practice.”
Some highlights include Ken Olin and Patricia Wettig’s daughter Roxy guesting on “Brothers and Sisters,” as well as a Susan-Katherine catfight on “Housewives.” The lows? “Grey’s” and the continuation of the “you gunna get fired” story.
First a recap, then some thoughts . . .
The show opened the morning after Julie was attacked. She was found by Karen McClusky and her new boyfriend Roy. She was alive, but unconscious, and rushed to the hospital. The men became suspicious of new family, who were the only ones not to rush out to check on the commotion. When they started snooping around the son, the mom decided to get her kid an alibi. Gabbi’s niece Ana happened to like him, so she lied and claimed they were out drinking together. This was Danny’s idea to ask her, and he of course got it from his mom. For the record, the son Danny told his mom and dad he went out last night on his own and got drunk, not remembering what he did.
Julie was hospitalized and unconscious with some brain swelling, but was expected to make a full recovery in time. She briefly opened her eyes only to see Karl and Bree kissing! Bree was upset when she learned Julie would probably remember all that happened when she woke up as she’s not currently in a coma, just unconscious. Bree felt Susan out about women involved with her ex’s, using Katherine as a talking point. Susan said had she slept with and gone after Karl it would have been worse than dating Mike, as Karl cheated on her and treated her like crap. That was a friend she didn’t need.
Katherine meanwhile had deluded herself that Mike and Susan wouldn’t last, that Mike would come back to her. She later brought Mike some food, as the whole neighborhood had been bringing dinners for them, and while there she flirted with him. She however told Orson that it was Mike who made the pass at her, hoping he’d tell Bree, who would tell Susan.
Back to the hospital, Lynette had to come out with a secret when Julie was scheduled for an X-ray. Julie may be pregnant! She and Susan had to have a talk. Julie saw her upset one day and came over to talk . . one thing led to another and Julie admitted she thought she was pregnant. She didn’t say who the father was, only that it was complicated. She also asked Lynette not to tell Susan. Lynette then came forward with secrets 2 and 3 . . . she was upset that day and Julie opened up to her because she told Julie she was pregnant. Susan was happy for her, but Lynette admitted he can’t quiet the voice in her head that she does have a choice here. Susan didn’t want to tell her what to do, but basically did in her own way by talking about how right now she’d give anything just to make sure she was Julie’s mom for one more day.
By the end of the show Gabby had figured out Ana lied about her alibi for Danny. She forced Ana to tell the cop the truth. Gabby then warned new wife Angie that Ana lied and was telling the cops the truth. Angie and her husband knew the cops would be coming and told Danny not to say anything, don’t waive his rights, they’d have a lawyer at the station pronto.
Everyone on the block watched as the cops took Danny away. Karen was feeling either guilty or conflicted. Earlier in the show she did not know if she should come forward having seen Julie and Danny fighting the day before. She said it could have been nothing, and she was tired of having the families on the block mad at her for something. It was never really cleared up as to whether she told the cops, though it was alluded to she was going to.
My Thoughts
So with everyone last week suggesting it was the father that attacked Julie, I immediately went there to thinking he was the “complicated” man she was involved with. He also was very insistent that Danny and Julie were only friends. At first it would seem he did so to make Danny look less guilty, but what if it was because he was involved with her? What if Danny found out about his dad and Julie and that’s why he was calling her a whore?
I actually am really liking the new family, so I hope whatever happened . . . well they find a way to keep them around.
I have a bad feeling Katherine is going to kidnap Mike at some point and make Susan think he’s just away somewhere for awhile. Why doesn’t the show put Katherine and Orson together as they are both nuts!
I still get a bad feeling about Lynette and the babies. SPOILER ALERT! Ausiello posted a story about November Sweeps, involving a plane crash. Headman Marc Cherry admits a housewife isn’t dying, and nobody major is dying . . . I can’t help but wonder if Lynette will lose the babies, then end up having major guilt because she really never wanted them.
So this week on “Ghost Whisperer” a young woman was haunting Melinda, a friend, and the whole town of Grandview via an email chain letter that promised death if it wasn’t forwarded. The girl and her mom were in a serious car accident, with the mom barely hanging on and the girl dying. She was convinced it was because she didn’t forward the letter, which came from someone named Scarlett Stitch, a doll with it’s mouth and eyes stitched up basically. She was haunting everyone trying to get them to forward the email and keep it going, otherwise they too would die.
Melinda kept having dreams as if her mouth and eyes had been stitched up. She even woke to a weird ghost couple trying to stitch her up. Jim and Melinda worked together and realized the mom simply had a stroke from a brain tumor, that caused the car accident, not the email. Melinda, Ned and Eli tracked the email down to a little girl in the hospital. She had cancer and had lived there her whole life. She basically lived in a quarantined room as her immune system was so compromised. She had the doll with her from the email, and Melinda couldn’t understand how she could start something like this given she was only 7. At the end of the show we saw her talking to a ghost, a woman who really had been stitched up. The ghost was using the little girl to get revenge on someone it seemed . . .
My Thoughts
So my first thought in watching this show was I swore they had already done a chain letter story :-\
By the end of the show I was thinking they had possibly set up a Halloween episode for later down the road. I couldn’t think of anything creepier to do on Halloween, and that Scarlett girl was creepy (and oddly reminded me of Wynona Rider).
Based on this episode, the previews for next week, and the spoiler release for the week after . . . well it seems they are setting up the hospital as the major haunting ground this season. I guess it makes sense with Sam/Jim being a doctor now, and it is a way they can use the actor a lot more.
I do hope they somehow connect the hospital to the spirits under Grandview. I mean I don’t think that story ever even resolved as it was still going on last season when Sam remembered he was Jim.
On the season premier of “Private Practice” two storylines were going on, one in the past and one in the present.
In the present was the ordeal with Violet. Pete found her, but the baby was gone, and everyone suspected her patient Katie. Violet was rushed to the ER where Addison worked to save her life. Eventually Katie showed up with the baby, and they got it away. She damaged it when she cut it out of Violet, so Addison worked on the baby as well.
As this was all going on, we saw the past how Violet and Pete met. Violet had just been hired by Sam and Noami, who were just starting Oceanside Wellness. Pete was Sam’s friend, and he was an infectious disease doctor, prim and proper in suit and tie. His wife had just died and Sam referred him to Violet. They also were considering him for a job with them.
In the end, Addison saved both Violet and the baby. We still don’t know who the daddy is though, so both Pete and Sheldon took turns sitting with the baby. Other goings-on . . . Charlotte is still employed by the hospital, and it seems Naomi is still going to head up the competing practice. Dell has custody of his daughter, and is “taking time off” to sort things out. IE the excuse they are using not to be using as much of Dell this season.
My Thoughts
The opening scenes of Pete burying someone I guess were intended to shock the audience into thinking Violet had died. But having spoilers from the internet, and also seeing his hair was way different, it was easy to guess something else was going on there.
I really liked this season opener. It had way more drama than “Grey’s” did for sure, IMO. Not sure I like Noami still at that other job, hopefully that won’t go on forever, who knows.
I really wanna know who the baby daddy is, but have a bad feeling it will be Sheldon, just because Violet needs more drama in her life right now. Plus it would just be too easy if it was Pete.
I still am kinda holding out hope for Violet and Cooper somehow.
Let’s hope Addison actually gets a man this season who lasts more than 2 episodes and she’s not cheating with!
Not sure why but the “Medium” releases aren’t coming at the same time as “Ghost Whisperer.”
What follows are the “Ghost Whisperer” spoilers for the 16th and “Medium” on the 9th. It is starting to look like “Ghost Whisperer” is setting up the hospital as the focal point for ghosts (given these spoilers, next week with Eli’s mom and dad, and this week’s episode with the little girl).
2 hour season premier spoilers after the jump!
UPDATE! This has been pushed from October 9th to the 16th.
Lots of good stuff went on this week on “Eastwick,” and it was a big departure from the movie, showing the show can be its own entity.
The biggest story of course was Joanna looking into who Daryl Van Horne was, only to uncover a connection to someone who came to town years ago named Sebastian (something-or-another). She found a photo of Sebastian, who of course was Daryl, and with him were three women . . . One was Bun, who is in the hospital. The other she recognized as a woman living on the outskirts of town. She went to see her, only to learn that the woman killed Sebastian years ago!
Other stories going on, Kat made up with her crummy husband, but realized their marriage was over and their make-up sex was really goodbye sex. Meanwhile Roxanna tried to put off committing to her boy-toy (Kyle XY) who wanted to be her boyfriend. By the end of the show she agreed though.
Also some weird writer from Ireland came to town. Roxanna dreamed he would try and kill her, but in her dream he had a scar. Roxanna saw in real life he didn’t have it though. He claimed he was researching witchcraft. By the end of the show he did brand himself with the symbol from the dream (a variation of the celtic knot, a triad symbol).
Like I said, I loved how this episode ventured off. I love the idea that Daryl has been to town before . . . and was killed? Also who is the third woman in the photo Joanna found? Her face was slightly turned, aka creating a mystery. Why do I feel like it will be one of three’s mother and Daryl will be one of their father? (He hasn’t slept with all of them yet has he, that would dismiss that idea). Otherwise if it’s not one of them, I think Daryl will have spawn in the town!
On this week’s “Grey’s,” everyone, especially the residents, were on guard as rumor was spreading that the Chief would be letting people go as part of the merger of Seattle Grace and Mercy West. This left many people scrambling to do their best, or find someplace they would not get cut from.
Yang attempted to act like she was interested in pedes to get on Arizona’s good side. She just ended up on her bad side as Callie told Arizona exactly what Yang was doing. Izzie meanwhile sported a red wig that nobody liked, as she wanted to try being a red head. She also helped Derek with a 5 hour surgery which Alex was furious about as she wasn’t ready for.
By the end of the show Lexie learned that almost her entire class save for her and another guy were let go. Also were some nurses and other staff. Derek was furious with the Chief for not stepping up and talking to the staff about what was going on, for simply hiding in his office and sending out “You’re Fired” emails. He said everyone was on guard, Izzie put herself through a grueling surgery she wasn’t ready for out of fear of looking weak. The Chief just yelled at Derek, saying he was trying to steal his job and he could handle “his people.”
My thoughts . .
I don’t know, I just don’t like this merger storyline. Meredith is hardly on these days (because the actress was pregnant in real life). Spoilers indicate Izzie gets cut and will be off for several episodes (so the actress can film a movie). George is gone too. I feel like we’re heading to the point where new people start taking over and it doesn’t feel like “Grey’s” much anymore.
The Chief I felt acted like a major jerk in this episode. At this point I won’t feel bad if Derek takes his job! How cold is it to send out “you’re fired” emails.
I loved Mark and Lexie in this episode, how he kept trying to calm her fears and keep her sane. Arizona and Callie having the “girlfriend” discussion was cute as well.
Yang usually isn’t my favorite, but when she ate the chocolate pudding the little kid wanted I did chuckle. Yeah it was mean, but it was so Yang!
I know people often loath Meredith cause she whines a lot, but I am really missing her doing stuff on the show. I also think it’s funny they seem to have given her giant feathered hair, as if we aren’t supposed to notice it’s to hide weight gain and the fact she’s really pregnant.
