The Grey’s And Private Practice Crossover ’10 Event
So I just last night finished the latest “Grey’s” and “Private Practice” crossover event. Wow, where to even begin? Just when you think they can’t get more dysfunctional . . . they do!
The following are just my thoughts on some of the main goings on . . . .
First up, way to wreck Mark and Lexie! Was this really necessary? Have we not done this with every other couple on the show? At first I was annoyed with how jealous Lexie was acting, but that soon faded when Sloan (the kid) turned into a raging whiner and moocher, and then Mark went and invited her and the baby to live with them without consulting Lexie.
Okay sure it’s his place, and yes she’s his daughter (and this is his grandchild), but he didn’t give Lexie any consideration at all. I do get he was just excited and it came out of his mouth. He did admit that to her as well, but then he pulled the “don’t make me chose” line. Oh when they say that, they’ve already chosen! That was the wrong thing to say!
Then they (the show) made it worse by having Alex and Lexie shacking up at the end of the show. Oh brother! Wrecking both Alex and Izzie and Lexie and Mark in one show. Ouch! Can they recover?
Izzie is supposed to make another cameo soon though. Christina yelling “Come work at the clinic, your wrecking your career!” was classic Yang.
I did enjoy Derek working to get to the bottom of the Cheif’s drama. I felt Meredith, Bailey and the others should not have been keeping that a secret at all.
Derek also trying to set up Bailey was hilarious! We do know that Jason George is being brought in as a potential love interest soon for her.
Then there was the Teddy, Christina Owen drama . . . and what drama! I really like Teddy, but her sitting there doing nothing while Christina flipped out in surgery was WRONG! First I have to say I’m shocked Christina lost her cool, I thought she would have been a rock star. Second, again not cool on Teddy’s part. She claimed it was about teaching, until Owen confronted her. That’s when she realized what she did and it was time to go, until Christina begged to do anything to get her to stay. She was that desperate for a mentor like Teddy, someone who believed in her. The show ended with Teddy wanting Owen and Christina blurting out “Take Him!”
Oh no she did not say that! Yep, she did. So now did she mean it, was it just a quick reaction without her even realizing what she was saying, or was it a bit of both? Can’t wait for tomorrow’s show!
Over to “Practice,” Mark brought Sloan down for Addison to help, but he and Addison also helped themselves to some sex . . . a lot of sex! Again, let me bang my head on the table some more. I actually felt a sliver of sympathy for Sam here. Even though I’m opposed to Sam and Addison, for him to walk in on her and Mark had to have been tough! We know there is something going on there between them . . . . Of course then everyone walking up to Addison asking if she had sex with Mark in the office was hilarious.
However by the end of the episode Sloan wanted to put the baby up for adoption and go home to her mom, Addison and Mark realized they weren’t meant to be as he still loved Lexie, and of course with Maya getting knocked up . . . that will probably bring Sam and Naomi back together.
In other developments on the show, Dell dealt with a pissed off Betsy, and Naomi stopped sugar coating things and said he was wrong and Betsy had a right to be pissed. In the end he apologized to Pete as well. I think Pete did overstep a lot in that episode, but his intentions were good, and I think he was trying to prevent the situation Dell is in. Though at the same time, he was using that situation to deal with his own demons with Violet and their kid.
I agree 100% about everything. In addition, the drama between Coop and Charlotte crossed the line. I don’t know if they can recover.

I knew I’d forget something 🙂 Violet’s story with the hoarder was interesting, but I spaced out on Cooper and Charlotte.
Yeah not sure what will happen with them for sure. They at least finally both opened up and let each other have it though!

Yes. That they did. It was borderline cruel to one another. I totally wasn’t in the Violet story this past week. Normally, I love her stories.
On Grey’s, the most shocking scene (to me) was the Christina / Teddy scene at the end. It broke my heart because Christina is so desperate for someone to teach her. She has this gift and no mentor. She has dealt with it since the beginning of S4, and it’s finally coming to the surface. It was very emotional for her, and I felt her pain. At the same time, the “Take him!” remark absolutely shocked me.

I don’t think she really meant that she could take him…I just think she’s that desperate and lost for someone to teach her. Could you imagine having that much talent and wanting something so bad…with all the crap she’s been through with her mentors…she finally gets one and now this? I think I’d go a little crazy too.
