It’s a good thing “Castle” was renewed early on, cause I and many others would be hella pissed if the Alphabet Network canceled this show based on tonight’s episode.

The bloodbath of a season finale presented some major twists in the “Who Killed Becket’s Mom” case, but also left a huge one hanging.

Previously we had learned Castle’s mom was killed because she was helping defend some guy who was framed for a murder/kidnapping . . . when the real culprits were two cops. Apparently she and her law school buddies got too close to the truth.

Two cops had gone vigilante and were trying to clean up the mob, but ended up getting too dirty. We learned in this episode there was a third cop involved, one who years later helped cover everything up . . . . Captain Montgomery!

Captain Montgomery was given a choice by a hired gun, give “them” Becket, or his family would die. He lured Becket out, but only to trap the killers. Castle saved Becket, and Captain Montgomery took out the killers . . . getting killed himself. However before he died and took the hired gun out, he made a comment . . . . there is still one more “Big Bad” who it seems was the ringleader. This person had taken a bunch of the money they absconded with and used it to make them who they were today . . . but Montgomery said he had taken precautions to bring them down too . . . . While the killer told Montgomery (before they both died) that they would get Becket.

At Montgomery’s funeral, a sharpshooter seemingly took out Becket, who was speaking, and who Castle jumped to take down when he realized someone had a target set on her. As Becket lay there, seemingly bloody . . . .Castle told her to hold on . . . and that he loved her.

BEST SEASON FINALE TO DATE!

So I have to guess Becket will be wearing a vest . . . but who is the real big bad? The way they made it out, I’m guessing the Mayor or the D.A. (Though I think he was already taken down a few episodes back . . . this corruption is deep!)
