True Blood: Skinwalking!

True Blood: Skinwalking!

Last night’s true blood was definitely . . . . interesting. It all took place under the full moon.

Arlene’s insane devil child Mikey and his devil doll apparently set fire to the house, then magically got himself out on the front lawn. His family escaped, which I don’t think was his plan. As Arlene was blaming her psycho ex-boyfriend, we learned Mikey was seeing the spirit of some African American woman, who looked like she was from the slave era. Yup, I think we have a pissed off voodoo spirit in the house! Anything involving Voodoo, I kinda like!

Because of the fire, Sam found himself busy dealing with issues, and asked Tommy to look over the restaurant. Tommy of course “Skinwalked” and shifted into Sam when he put on his shirt. This led to a whole lot of drama at work, and later him having “relations” with Sam’s new girlfriend Luna . . . then dismissing her like some trashy whore. Yeah, I now get why Sam was beating the crap out of Tommy in that ComicCon preview! Tommy, 1 step forward . . . 8 giant steps back. Can we kill him off now?

Debbie joined the new pack, and tried to convince Alcide to do so as well. Zzzzzz. Alcide and that crazy ex-junkie are boring. Let’s get the Alcide and Sookie action started!

Jason confessed almost all to Sookie about Crystal and the werepanthers. Jason was sure he’d be morphing soon, but later Sookie learned from Alcide just being bitten wouldn’t cause someone to become a were, you had to be born of one or both wereparents.

Bill got the OK to kill Eric, but let him go in the end after Eric made this lovely speach about how he understood why Bill would want him dead, and he hoped he and Sookie found happiness because Sookie deserved to be happy. Awwwww . . . just more making “nice” with Bill given his nasty nasty actions as of late. I’m fully on team Alcide-Sookie at this point, Vamps can suck it! (Yes I know how the books play out, this isn’t the books!)

Jesus and Lafayette found themselves at the mercy of Jesus’ grandpa, who made them gather a sacrifice, then poisoned Jesus and made Lafayette save Jesus using his powers to channel the dead . . . . I have to say I’m not liking their story at all this season. When was the last time we heard Lafayette say “hooooookaaaah!”

Marnie, still stuck in jail, channeled Antonia and we learned the back story between her and Luis, who was one of the priests at the church she was burned at. He admitted last week he was away when Antonia forced his brothers and sisters to walk into the light, which is how he was spared. Now however he knows who the real witch force is, but based on how Marnie subdued him at the very end … I don’t know if he’ll be around to warn anyone!

  1. Tommy is a charactor I can’t seem to even love to hate, wasted screen time in my opinion. Alcide kept his shirt on, another disapointment, lol. I am interested in how they do with Jason, since I have read the books I hope they go in that direction. Either way the actor does a great job with him.

  2. Overall I enjoyed this episode. I think the witch things with Marnie is becoming more interesting now with the possession by a powerful spirit.

The wolf pack alpha looks pretty scary and very untrustworthy. Debbie is just trouble!

I wonder what Pam is going to do to Tara and Naomi? If she kills them she herself would have to face her true death (although she’s on her way there anyway). I suspect she’ll force them to help her out.

Hope Jason stays human – looks like he’ll have his hands full with Jessica. It would be wishful thinking to have the Hot Shot story line done with, but I suspect not.

Dustin, good thoughts about the potential voodoo lady and the baby. I didn’t even consider that angle. I didn’t know some slaves practiced voodoo in the US (or would she be a slave from a Caribbean island?). Do you suppose she was the one who helped get Mikey and the baby out of the house?

I was surprised Holly accepted the date with Andy. By the way, the actress who plays her was also on Sunday night’s Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Not sure what Tommy was thinking about sleeping with Sam’s girl! That’s not going to go over so well. Also, he was mean to Sookie when he fired her, but it was a bit funny that he called her on her poor work ethic/trouble-making.

Not sure what to say about Sookie/Eric pairing. I just don’t feel it. Alcide on the other hand….

  3. Yes lots of slaves in the New Orleans area practiced Voodoo. I definitely think the ghost is attached to the doll somehow.

  4. I kept thinking “Why don’t they throw that doll into the house fire?”

About Lafayette, do you think Jesus’ grandfather knew he (Lafayette) had some magical abilities to allow for possession, or do you think he facilitated the possession of Lafayette by Tio Luca?

So who was left to work at Merlotte’s on the night of the full moon? Sam was gone, as were Arlene, Holly, Sookie, Lafayette, presumably Terry, then Jessica ran off to help Jason, and Tommy was busy getting it on with Luna.

  5. I do think Grandpa knows what Lafayette can do, I think he was making Lafayette realize it.

I too wondered who was left to work lol

  6. I think the customers at Merlotte’s probably just get their own food and beverage at this point.

  7. That’s funny Beth! Maybe the voodoo doll can start working there.
