Fringe Fridays: Peter’s Back, But Nobody Knows Him!

Fringe Fridays: Peter’s Back, But Nobody Knows Him!

Posted by Dustin on 10.17.2011 at 4:29 pm

So I finally caught up with “Fringe” this weekend and was glad to see that Peter finally returned. I was expecting half the season to pass before that happened. But now I’m more confused than ever. A week ago they had Walter explaining how both Peters died as children, his from illness and the other Peter was never saved from the lake by the watcher and drowned. By crossing over Walter started the rift and the war between the two sides.

Okay, but now Peter, who both Olivia and Walter had been seeing in visions, is back. He claims he’s Peter Bishop and he knows them and what is going on. But they still don’t seem to know him, and it is as if both Peters really died . . . or so they think?

I’m so confused! Clearly all that got altered when Peter vanished has not been put back (i.e. Other Olivia’s baby, everyone’s memories of Peter). Did both Peters die, or did the Watchers just erase all memories of him? If it’s the later, then the baby should be out there somewhere too.

Desperate Housewives: Let’s Make Some Arts and Crafts!

Desperate Housewives: Let’s Make Some Arts and Crafts!

Posted by Dustin on 10.17.2011 at 10:48 am

I felt like for the most part, last nights show was all one big filler episode, save for the last 2 seconds which served to move the plot forward.

Susan joined an art class to try and take her mind off what she did, and it looks like her teacher is going to encourage her to let the crazy out. Why do I think whatever Susan paints is going to be the girls undoing somehow?

Danielle returned for this episode, and oh how I’ve missed her! Her marriage ended, and she moved back home to get on her feet . . . then off them! She started a business making “exercise equipment” which was how she explained it to mom to get some cash to start it up. In reality she’s making sex swings and selling them on the internet! Bree of course found out, and decided to just become a very very silent partner.

Lynette and Tom’s woes continues as it turns out Tom is already dating again. Seriously? You’ve been separated for how many weeks? Thinking back, it is Tom’s MO. Break up one week, have sex with Renee. Break up another week, get a woman pregnant with that thankfully long forgotten demon child. Maybe Lynette is better without Tom.

Gabby had a run in with the head of the PTA, and by run in I mean she ran the woman over at the school’s kid drop off zone. She’s now the new head of the PTA . . . as punishment.

The final moments had Chuck still stewing over Bree in his office and having some missing persons files dumped on his desk. Top of the list? Yup, Gabby’s step-dad! Okay if he was already supposed to be long dead . . . would he really be missing?

Grey’s Anatomy and Brief Private Practice Thoughts

Grey’s Anatomy and Brief Private Practice Thoughts

Posted by Dustin on 10.15.2011 at 5:33 pm

I absolutely loved this week’s “Grey’s Anatomy” with Miss Debbie Allen as Jackson’s mom performing a penis transplant. I was laughing so much!

Lexie is still MIA (on extended maternity leave) but is supposed to be back soon. Jackson’s mom wanted to meet her, but caught wind that Mark was clearly still in love with Lexie. Jackson told his mom that he was too, which was the first time I believe we’ve heard him say that. Uh oh! That can only mean the triangle will be back. I really want Lexie with Mark, but fear it will wreck Jackson and Mark’s working relationship.

The Zola storyline, with Derek and Meredith not being able to see her, but knowing she was ill, was heartbreaking. It at least seems to have brought them closer. Equally heartbreaking was watching Owen watch Christina stay with Zola and be so amazing with her. You know he was thinking about what could have been.

Bailey dumping Nurse Eli . . . possibly for Ben? I actually felt bad for Nurse Eli! He was so good for her.

I only saw the last half of “Private Practice,” and flicked around during the first. I will sit down and rewatch it this weekend. Pete remaining angry is just pissing me off. Also this new twist with Cooper having an 8 year old and just finding out? Really! From the previews Charlotte seems suspicious, but Cooper seems to immediately accept the kid. Is he or isn’t he Coopers? This wouldn’t be the first time a show has had this storyline, with the mother thinking she could take advantage of the good guy who wouldn’t question her. Grrrrr!

ABC’s Revenge: Emily Takes Another Down . . .

ABC’s Revenge: Emily Takes Another Down . . .

Posted by Dustin on 10.14.2011 at 3:28 pm

So I’m still watching “Revenge” on ABC, and still find myself scratching my head a lot. I’ve been watching so many new shows that without cheat sheets I can’t recall all the characters names!

Emily/Amanda continues taking down one of her father’s enemies at a time. This week it was the psychiatrist who institutionalized her and kept her away from her father . . . on Victoria Grayson’s orders.

I’m confused about Victoria. She seems to have really loved Emily/Amanda’s father . . .but then we saw her doing this in the past. We also saw her take the guys laptop and give it to her crony associate body guard. Why? Did she love him or not?

Also I was confused about her son Michael’s BFF, who purposely kept him away from Amanda/Emily in the episode and encouraged him to drink when he knew he had an alcohol problem. Does he want Emily/Amanda for himself? Or does he have his own game going on? Was he the one that it appeared shot the guy in the first minutes of the pilot?

Confused! I didn’t see all of last week’s episode, so maybe I missed something important?

American Horror Story: The Murder House Tour

American Horror Story: The Murder House Tour

Posted by Dustin on 10.14.2011 at 2:45 pm

The second episode of “American Horror Story” brought even more weirdness, twists and turns. Oh and more ghosts! The show opened with a group of nurses living in the house in the 60s, and a serial killer targeting and killing two of them.

Ben went out of town on business, so he said. In reality he had to go deal with the student he screwed, who ended up pregnant and needed his support to get an abortion.

Constance brought over poisoned cupcakes for Violet. Why? We have no clue, the woman is nuts! She talked with Vivian and sensed she was pregnant. We learned that she had four kids, 3 tragically had something wrong with them. We didn’t get the details on them all, it sounds like 2 didn’t even live. A fourth child was her only son, who apparently was perfect on the outside, but tormented on the inside.

While away, a patient Ben saw earlier returned with two friends. They were serial killer junkies, apparently the girl scoped out the house. They planned to recreate the nurse murders with Vivian and Violet as the victims. Fortunately one ate the poisoned cupcake, the others Violet and Tate lured into the basement where the ghost nurses took care of them.

At the end we saw Constance, Tate and the Maid all preparing to dispose of the bodies. By time the cops arrived, the only one they had in custody was the girl who got poisoned from the cupcake. The other two they think are still at large.

It would seem, that Tate might be Constance’s son she spoke of? I’m wondering if what is in the basement might be one of her other children she mentioned?

Next week it looks like the family tries to sell the house, while Ben’s former fling shows up to stalk him. Not a smart move . . . we know who the next person to die in the house will be!

Secret Circle: Down To Five?

Secret Circle: Down To Five?

Posted by Dustin on 10.14.2011 at 2:25 pm

So this week on “Secret Circle” we saw the demon from Heather take over Melissa, before eventually jumping into Nick.

Cassie realized the circle was in trouble and brought her grandma in, who appears to be a very powerful witch. However Nick ran off, and Charles and Dawn caught him. Dawn knew the demon, it appears her circle summoned it, and they clearly couldn’t control it. It vowed to destroy the new circle, so Charles drowned it . . . and Nick. Apparently it was a sure fire way to get rid of the demon.

So Nick is dead? Just like that? Now they once again have an incomplete circle. What does this mean? We learned what Charles and Dawn have been after, to have the new circle restore the powers stripped from them. But they apparently need six of those crystals, and the one they have is now dead . . . so it can’t show them were to find others.

If there are only five members now, can they even restore their powers? Or is Nick maybe not really dead? I also wondered what was up with the suitcase of snakes Melissa and Nick dug up from the woods.

In the end Cassie asked her grandma what happened that night on the boat with their parents. Even Grandma says she doesn’t know, her mom never told her. So the mystery continues . . . . Clearly the kids summoned that demon, who got out of hand. What did they want it to do though?

Parenthood: So Long Alex, Is Mark Next?

Parenthood: So Long Alex, Is Mark Next?

So we saw Alex decide to break up with Haddie on “Parenthood” an episode or two ago. Yay! I have a feeling he’ll be back, but I just can’t stand the two of them. And without him, she was on much less in the last episode, which was one of the best of the season.

Amber worked with Max in helping him write an apology letter to Jabbar for getting into a fight with him at school. She began to realize how his mind worked in doing so. I bet she’s going to decide to go into therapy/counseling for kids like Max.

Sarah’s new/old guy Mark got a little freighted when her ex Seth returned, very drunk. Seth got himself into a heap of trouble, and she’s trying to be there for him. I fear it’s going to cost her Mark though. His run was only supposed to be five episodes, so we knew it wouldn’t last.

The girl from work than Julia took a liking to eventually agreed to give Joel and Julia her baby, after she got to see how nice they were. This is just going to end in heartbreak all around, I already know it.

Finally Crosby stepped up and was there for Christina when her water broke. He stayed with her in the delivery room as she gave birth to her new daughter Nora. I suspect this will have Crosby a changed man. I think Christina will trust him more, he’ll take responsibility more seriously and I think it may make Jasmine to see him in a new light eventually.

Less Haddie and Alex = a better show!

Pan Am, Ringer, 90210 Thoughts . . .

Pan Am, Ringer, 90210 Thoughts . . .

Posted by Dustin on 10.12.2011 at 10:28 pm

So I am pretty sure “Pan Am” just isn’t gunna be flying much longer. I watch it every week, I’ve tried to like it and get into it, I just can’t. Based on the sinking ratings, I’m not alone. It’s slow and the drama isn’t there. I feel like the nostalgia aspect is the only reason I’m still watching . . . and I’m not old enough for it to be my own nostalgia!

“Ringer” I once again loved. I felt so bad for Gemma in this episode! I did not see her getting killed at all. Well, is she really dead? What about Bridget’s sponser? Some of the things I guessed at, like the daughter misunderstanding the NA meeting and thinking she was going to rehab, and the daughter telling her dad about Shioban being a women who cheats with married men . . namely him. I’m kinda wondering if Henry knows the truth, if he is the one Shioban is calling. When he got his manuscript and it said “Call Me” on it I was suspicious.

I forgot to watch “90210” last week, and it doesn’t seem like I missed much. I stand by my last thoughts that Naomi is the only interesting storyline anymore. Annie being a prostitute? Bleh! Dixon on Speed? Bleh! Navid and the stolen car ring? Bleh! I feel like the show has become a predictable mesh of all the bad 80s movie teen storylines they could combine into an hour.
