Revolution: Why Do I Still Watch Thee?

Revolution: Why Do I Still Watch Thee?

I got caught up on “Revolution” last night and still don’t know why I’m bothering to watch this show as it just infuriates me. Also I can’t believe this got saved, when other shows got canceled.

After spending half the season trying to find and save Danny, the show went and killed him off. What ?!?! Seriously !?!? Worse yet, they tried to make his death this heroic sacrifice because he destroyed the pendant and Monroe’s amplifier. Too bad the next week he had another one and a new amplifier thanks to his new friend Ronald (or Roland or something).

This week we learned Monroe’s new friend was Rachel’s old boss and secretary at the Department of Defense. His son was killed fighting in Kabul, and he wanted to teach those terrorists a lesson. Rachel, her husband and others worked on a secret project. It seems the project was a virus to blackout certain cities or areas of the world, and they were going to use it for the war. I guess the pendants were so that we could have power in select machines and bomb the hell out of other countries? They didn’t really explain everything. Something must have gone wrong, because it blacked out the whole world.

DOD dude has now rounded up Grace and another guy Rachel went to for help, but he really needs Rachel to finish things for him. He wants to turn the power back on, but only for Monroe. He wants to select who has and who doesn’t have power, so we don’t misuse it again. He’s trying to get into “The Tower,” which seems to be the old DOD headquarters and where everything went down and went wrong. Rachel is now on a quest to get in there first and turn the power on for all.

I’m actually annoyed at the explanation for why the power went out. It seems it was all one grief stricken father on a power trip?

So ever since the big take-over of the hospital got resolved, the show has been in a little bit of a slump. The shows haven’t been bad by any means, but I feel like they also haven’t been overly exciting or pushing stories forward much. They have set up a few teases, but it seems now we have to wait until the season comes to an end in May for anymore big storylines and bombs to be dropped.

Alex is still in love with his intern Jo, madly in love with her, but she’s dating who he’s nicknamed “Dr. Douchebag.” For once I feel for Alex and am on his side. I’m sure though he’ll do something to screw things up.

Jackson and April had a moment this week in the lastest episode, even though they are both dating others. It was enough to see the spark was still there. I’m rooting for these two, but I know it probably won’t be an easy road back together. I will admit I do like April’s new guy, but I don’t like the intern Jackson is dating at all.

Meredith has been worried about her baby a lot, but has found out that all the tests show her son is perfectly healthy and normal. By the end of this episode she then went back to worrying about herself and Zola. She wanted Zola genomapped by Bailey to find out if there is anything she should know about her, and she wanted to be genomapped to see if she was going to come down with Alzheimers. I’m thinking nothing good will come of this!

Finally Brookes and Ross are now fighting with one another over Derek. Ross didn’t want to be off Derek’s service, Brookes wanted on it. Derek realized Ross had to go through the rotations and experience all the doctors and hospital had to offer. Ross however thinks Brookes has sabotaged him. Lay off Brookes, she’s my favorite!
