Under The Dome 1st Season Finale!

Under The Dome 1st Season Finale!

Posted by Dustin on 09.17.2013 at 12:30 pm

So “Under The Dome” ended last night, and it’s a damn good thing there is a second season coming because that was not satisfying at all. We only got teased with some answers, not full out given them.

In a not so shocking twist Julia, not Barbie, turned out to be the monarch. Linda the cop found the kids with the dome, and she’s still too stupid to figure out that Big Jim is the real threat and danger to Chester’s Mill. She tried to take the dome into police custody and the kids didn’t stop her when she went to touch it. They knew what it did to Dodie, and it did the same to her. She was shocked and knocked unconscious. Too bad she couldn’t stay that way! I’d much rather have seen her gone than some of the people Big Jim has offed at this point.

Big Jim played on the townsfolk’s fears and sudden embracing of religion, especially after the dome blacked out. When the butterfly was born, it flew around the mini-dome and made black splotches appear. They also appeared on the big dome until it was completely blacked out. Eventually the mini-dome disappeared when Julia and Barbie arrived to see it, because the monarch had come. Julia was able to dispel it, and take the egg . . . but what to do with it?

Like Linda, Jr. seems to be too stupid to see the truth about his father. With Angie and Julia’s help, Barbie escaped jail. However stubborn Jr. caught him and took him back. He confronted his father about the allegations it was him that killed people, not Barbie. Big Jim finally came clean to Jr. and told him he had killed people, but it was for the good of Chester’s Mill. He told him about finally seeing his mom’s studio after all these years, seeing her paintings. He now realizes she wasn’t crazy, but a messenger. He feels he and Jr. are connected to this dome, that they are fated to run Chester’s Mill. For a quick second I thought Jr. found his brain and was hoping he was broadcasting his dad’s confession over his walkie-talkie . . . but alas he wasn’t.

Julia and the kids took the egg to the forest where they found it, and Noorie suggested destroying it and maybe it would bring the dome down. They decided to try asking the egg what to do with it? Suddenly Alice appeared again, but it wasn’t Alice. It was a message from the dome’s creators to them. “They” chose to use a familiar form to communicate, as this is all new to them too. We learned the dome was actually sent to protect Chester’s Mill . . . but from what? “They” wouldn’t say what yet, but they’d learn in due time. It was Julia’s task to protect the egg, for if it fell into the wrong hands then they would be doomed.

By the end of the show Big Jim gathered everyone in the town square where a gallows was constructed. Barbie was to be hanged, and Jr. was given the task of being the hang man. At the same time Julia made the hard choice to protect the egg and dome over saving Barbie, as she had to put everyone before Barbie and her own feelings. She dumped the egg into the middle of the lake to hide it. Suddenly “The Pink Stars” shot up in straight lines to the dome. Big Jim used this, claiming it was a miracle to show God was looking out for them and he agreed with what they were doing. He told Jr. to pull the lever and hang Barbie, but Jr. hesitated. The stars hit the blackened dome and cleared it . . . and this is where things ended.

So who sent the dome? Now it once again is looking like aliens. But what does Barbie have to do with it? Also what’s the military’s involvement, as they too felt Barbie was the one who could deal with the issues from inside? Is this some kind of Area 54 type of conspiracy theory? Or is the dome something more religious? Is it something from “the other side.” I guess it’s time to finish the book, though I know the show has already diverged from it.

Devious Maids: Heading Into The First Season Finale

Devious Maids: Heading Into The First Season Finale

Posted by Dustin on 09.17.2013 at 10:39 am

The latest episode of “Devious Maids” answered more questions about Flora, but left the big one still unanswered. Next week we shall learn all! However the show should set up the second season as well, if Marc Cherry follows his usual formula.

Remi confronted his father about murdering Flora to protect him, but Philippe swore he didn’t. Was he lying? Possibly, because he’s very good at it. We did learn though that Philippe also had sex with Flora, who was a gift to him from Adrian. However she said no to him, but Philippe said “She was a whore, she can’t say no.” So we know that Philippe is the one who raped her and Flora wrote the letter about. Is it possible he was also the father of her child all along, not Remi?

Michael found out who Marisol really was and warned Philippe. He too felt it was Philippe who possibly killed her. He thought they needed to go to the police and make a deal, but Philippe said he would handle Marisol. Michael warned him not to make things any worse. He went home and warned Marisol about Philippe and the danger to her life. He felt it was best she leave, he’s made arrangements to basically hide her away for awhile. Taylor however didn’t want her to leave. She asked Marisol if she lied about being her friend, and Marisol said no. Taylor convinced her to stay. Taylor went to the car to get her bags, which unfortunately is when the gunman Philippe hired to take care of Marisol shot Taylor by mistake. She sadly looked to be hit right in the stomach, probably killing her unborn child if she herself manages to survive.

Remi made plans to leave town himself, out of fear what could happen to him if the truth about his involvement with Flora comes out. Valentina planned to go with him, but Zoila did not want this to happen. She convinced Remi to leave without her so that she could go to school and pursue her dreams. Remi knew Valentina would hate him, but Zoila said only until she learns the truth, then her daughter would hate her.

Sam returned and Carmen and Sam planned to move in together. However thanks to his scorned ex, the paparazzi were after photographs and proof that Alejandro was gay. Everything he worked for was about to be lost. His managers realized he needed a beard, one he could marry and trust with his secret. He had the perfect girl in mind. He didn’t say it, but we all know it’s Carmen!

Finally Spence proposed to Rosie, who turned him down. She told him what Peri was going to do for her. She said they can’t be together anymore. Spence then went to Peri to try and stop her, but only temporarily. He said what she was planning was actually illegal (smuggling a Mexican child into the US in a private jet). He told her to let him look into things and take care of it, but she refused. She wanted to do this now, and she felt Spence was trying to steal her glory and this was her plan! She brought Rosie’s son home to her, and she thanked Peri. Peri then made the comment to Spence “and you wanted me to wait!” Rosie then gave him a look! He tried to explain, but she wouldn’t hear it. My guess is when Peri finds out about the affair, and she will, the first thing she’ll do is make a call to INS about Rosie’s illegal child. We’ll ignore the fact that she’s the one who brought him into the country in the first place.

Next week is the big finale! I can’t wait to see who killed Flora. All signs point to Philippe, but his insisting he didn’t kill her had me wondering. Could Genevieve have done it? Did Flora tell her all, causing her to snap and have a psychotic episode that even she doesn’t remember? Recall the opener mentioned all her psychiatrists and meds! Is Philippe actually trying to protect her and Remi?

I also think Philippe will end up dead, and that will lead to the second season mystery. Who killed Philippe?

Under The Dome: So Long Dodie!

Under The Dome: So Long Dodie!

Posted by Dustin on 09.12.2013 at 7:39 pm

Well next week is the season finale of “Under the Dome,” and I’m hoping we get some kind of answers. Based on the press release for this episode (below), we should get some. My guess is not enough, and I don’t think they will do away with Big Jim as he’s the villain of the show.

Angie helped Barbie keep Julia safe from Big Jim, who continued to frame Barbie. Dodie was this week’s casualty. She intercepted a military broadcast about Barbie. The military know he is in the dome, and they know he is the only one who will know what to do about the egg. Yes, the seem to know about that too. So is this all a military experiment gone wrong? Is the dome a military weapon?

Dodie told this to Big Jim, thinking Barbie and this egg could be the way to get rid of the dome. However she realized too late that was the last thing that Big Jim wanted, and he shot her dead to keep her quiet. He was then determined to find this egg, knowing enough from Dodie that the kids had it.

Joe was convinced that Barbie was the monarch. The kids moved the dome to keep it safe from Big Jim. He took Joe and Norrie to jail, along with Barbie who turned himself in to let Angie escape with Julia in an ambulance. Julia eventually came to.

Barbie struck a deal to plead guilty to the charges in front of the town, if Big Jim let the kids go and didn’t do anything to Julia. However he knew he couldn’t trust Jim. At the end when he was asked before all how he plead, he said “Not Guilty!”

The dome began to squeal and make horrible sounds at its new hiding place. By the end of the show Angie, Norie and Joe were there, and the new Sheriff found them with the dome. It seems she’s slowly realizing Big Jim is the real problem in town. The butterfly, aka Monarch, began to hatch as the show ended. Elsewhere, Junior also was also realizing his father was a problem and went to the spot on the big dome all alone to get answers from it on what to do.

Devious Maids: We Have A Suspect!

There are only two episodes left, and we’ve pretty much figured out who killed Flora. As I theorized a few episodes back, it looks to be Philipe, Remi’s father and Genevieve’s ex. Or at least right now that is who it seems to be.

Remi learned from Marisol’s lawyer friend that Flora was pregnant with his child after a fling, he did not know about this. Flora went to Michael, the family lawyer, for money. However Remi realized that Michael must have told his dad first, and his dad took care of Flora.

Genevieve was set to remarry Philipe. Zoila proved he had not changed, and was still a cheater. When Philipe spoke up about her only being “the help” and knowing her place, Remi punched his dad and then whispered what he knew to him (which we didn’t hear), which had Philipe shaking. It definitely seems like Philipe is the killer . . . yet something tells me there is still another twist coming!

Even though she knew he was a cheat, Genevieve still planned to go through with the marriage! She felt she was getting older and was tired of being alone, and Philipe always made her feel special. I’m seeing a wedding and then Philipe’s murder. That sets up the 2nd season’s mystery, as well as solves Genevieve’s money troubles.

In other story’s, Michael first wife survived her suicide attempt, but Taylor made sure Michael knew she was his wife and the mother of his unborn child.

Rosie got blackmail on Peri, who committed a hit and run. She decided Peri was not a good person and she was going to be happy with Spence. However Peri felt guilty after a fight they had and is flying to Mexico to bring her son back! We’ll just ignore how she’s gunna take someone else’s kid out of a country and into another.

Mistresses Season Finale!

Mistresses Season Finale!

HOLY MOTHER F’ING SHIZNIT! That Finale! There just MUST be a second season of this show! Otherwise that has got to be the worst unresolved cliffhanger in the history of TV!

In case you missed it . . . here is the lowdown on what happened.

  • Savi got into a car accident, rushed to the hospital, Harry shows up and says he loves her, but reveals the baby is Doms . . . he doesn’t care! Dom also says he loves her, she pushes his hand away. As she talks to her friends she tries to reveal who she hoped was the dad . . . flatlines!
  • Joss . . . she has no real story in this episode, her drama finished last week . . . but as I noted there is a spark between her and Harry!
  • April went back and forth between Paul and Richard the entire friggen episode. Who would she choose? One minute it seemed like Richard, the next Paul. Her drama ends with her getting a call from Miranda saying she hasn’t heard from Paul in days, please have her call his son!
  • Karen learned that Elizabeth Grey is totally nuts! She’s been in and out of psych wards for years. A little too late, Elizabeth shows up with a gun intent on killing her. Sam bursts in to save Karen, just as Elizabeth reveals she killed Tom! He was begging to see Karen one last time in his delirious state and she killed him. They all fight for the gun, it goes off . . . blood everywhere!
  • Nooooooooooo! ABC can’t leave us like this!

My thoughts . . . . Savi seemed to have chosen Harry, but I do wonder if pushing Dom’s hand away was only out of respect for Harry who was there? As I said, I think something will happen between Joss and Harry.

I really hope that April does NOT choose Paul. The final call from Miranda seemed to be the nail in Paul’s coffin. He clearly has abandoned her and his son, just like he easily abandoned April and their daughter before.

Assuming there is a season two, Karen CAN’T be dead . . . so that leaves either Sam or Elizabeth. Hmmmm, choices! My bet is on Sam, just because it will make Karen’s life even messier.

    What did you think?

Big Brother 15: Floaters Grab The 1/2 Million!

Posted by Dustin on 09.08.2013 at 9:48 pm

What a sad sad season of “Big Brother!” Too many nasty, unlikable people in the house, and now we are left with a bunch of unworthy floaters for the most part!

The double eviction saw Amanda and Elissa go. As much as I loathed Amanda, she at least played a strategic game and did control the house. Elissa was a good player at some of the comps, much better than anyone who is left right now! McCrae put up Elissa, even though he felt it was Andy who flipped on him, but putting up Elissa would make the least waves. ONCE AGAIN WE DO WHAT THE HOUSE WANTS! GinaMarie and Andy made sure Elissa lost the vote and went home through nasty tactics.

McCrae tried to get Spencer and Andy in an alliance against Judd and Gina Marie. They agreed, but it seems were just playing him.

The HOH was played, and Spencer finally won a comp. He’s the new HOH! He also got to deal out prizes and punishments . . . McCrae and GinaMarie ended up tied together for 24 hours. Andy ended up getting the chance to win up to 5000 dollars (only he he won a whole $94.83, good!). Judd got a punishment where he had to do whatever exercise a drill sergeant yelled out after a whistle for 24 hours.

Spencer told GinaMarie he did what he did to her because he didn’t want McCrae getting in Judd’s ear. He trusted her more than anyone else. McCrae however got into Gina Marie’s ear, also worrying that she had a final four with the others. She said no no! Which was a lie.

Spencer told McCrae he wants Gina Marie out, he’s going to put her and him up, that way nobody will learn how close they are. Spencer of course is lying to him, he wants him out. McCrae however feels the others are working against him, so he could be the real target . . . ding ding!

Spencer did put up Gina Marie and McCrae, with McCrae being the real target.

Under The Dome: Run Barbie Run!

Under The Dome: Run Barbie Run!

Posted by Dustin on 09.07.2013 at 8:01 pm

I realized I forgot to make a post about this week’s “Under The Dome.” I feel that at this point, we (who have not read the book) are not going to get a whole lot of answers before this season is over. There are only three more episodes left, and they are moving at a snails pace with this dome mystery.

“The Four” mapped the constellations that the mini-dome provided them by touching it, and they found four dots in a row that didn’t make sense in terms of the stars. They realized it may mark a spot on the big dome that they need to go to. Junior however started being a jerk again, saying he didn’t want to be any part of this if Angie wasn’t going to be with him. He didn’t want to solve the mystery and set her free if she planned to leave. He’d rather live and die under the dome with her. The dome didn’t like that at all. A weird wind storm started up, and it only calmed down when Junior agreed to come back to “The Four” and see what the dome wanted. So it seems the dome is a life form of some type? It senses, it feels, it controls the weather? I’m moving away from an aliens explanation and now leaning more towards some kind of “Mother Nature/Mother Earth” explanation with the dome.

“The Four” went to the spot on the big dome they mapped out and put their hands on it. They then had a bizarre vision. Each one of them held a knife, and in front of them was Big Jim, who was bleeding from wounds. Joe believes the dome wants them to kill Big Jim, which didn’t sit well with Junior of course.

Meanwhile Big Jim and Barbie had their handsful dealing with Maxine, who completely lost it this week. Maxine showed up and shot Julia at her front door. Barbie worked to save her life and get her to the hospital, and then went after Maxine. Big Jim, however, used this situation to finally rid himself of Maxine and Barbie. He learned from the radio station folks that a military call was intercepted in which the military had ID’d Barbie as being inside the dome, and that he was someone they were looking for. We never found out why, but we can assume that if the military is looking for you, it’s not good. Big Jim must have assumed that too. He ended up shooting Maxine, who found out Big Jim killed her mom, and then set up Barbie for it. He made it seem to the whole town that Barbie not only shot Maxine, but Julie as well, and that he also had killed Maxine’s mother along with Julia’s husband.

So now Barbie is on the run, but given the dome’s vision, I don’t think it will be long before Big Jim is exposed. I never thought I’d rather see Big Jim dead over Junior. Junior . . . well he can die when he’s no longer needed. I really thought they were trying to turn him around, but I guess you can’t fix crazy!

Spoilers for the next episode below!

Big Brother 15: The Second Double Eviction!

Big Brother 15: The Second Double Eviction!

Posted by Dustin on 09.05.2013 at 9:58 pm

We begin with Spencer and Amanda on the block, and unless the houseguests are bribed by the Diary Room people, Amanda should be going home.

Amanda accused Gina Marie of being jealous of her and McCrae because she and Nick didn’t become a power couple. Amanda just dug her hole even deeper.

Amanda had to beg Elissa for her vote this week, thinking Andy and McCrae will vote for her. She promised to be loyal to her if she would save her. She said she’d have her, McCrae and Andy all on her side. Elissa actually began thinking about it!

Amanda brought Andy into it, not knowing Andy has ANOTHER alliance with the other side! Andy realizes he’s multiple alliances could be outed this week!

Andy reported back to Judd and Spencer. He says they need to frame Elissa for turning on McCrae. Spencer began to worry that he could actually go home this week.

We then went to the living room and Julie announced it is not only the 500th episode, but the season’s second double eviction.

    The voting began . . .

McCrae and Elissa voted to evict Spencer.
Judd and Andy voted to evict Amanda.

With it a tie, Gina Marie had to vote out Amanda! Amanda was PISSED!

Amanda realized it was actually Andy who double may have crossed her, and said so when she walked out. Andy knew he was toast.

Amanda talked to Julie, and she knew by her reception that people didn’t seem to like her. She did apologize for the bullying of Elissa, she felt bad about that. She watched her good bye messages, and Andy admitted to her about voting her out and his new alliance.

The next HOH game was played. It was a searching game in a pit for items. In the end, McCrae won!

McCrae ended up nominating GinaMarie and Elissa, apparently thinking Elissa was the one who betrayed him and Amanda. Andy has gotten away with it?

The veto was played, and they had to maneuver a little mouse through a maze to win. Judd won the Veto and did not decide to use it.

The house voted and of course Elissa went home unanimously. Andy pulled his double cross off!

Elissa was clueless and thought McCrae must have voted against Amanda . . . not realizing Andy was the double crosser!

The next HOH game would be played off camera. I’ll update when I know who the new HOH is. But at this point it’s safe to say McCrae is gone next week unless he wins veto to save himself.
