Hidden Palms: Episode 3

Hidden Palms: Episode 3

Posted by Dustin on 06.14.2007 at 12:13 am

Oy! Various real life dramas interfered with my viewing of the show tonight. I’m going to have to re-watch online or next Sunday. I almost set the Tivo up but didn’t. Grrr! These thoughts are based on what parts I was able to pay attention too 🙂

So we learned tonight from Greta’s home movies that the person who appeared to Johnny on his computer was Eddie and not an imposter. Well, maybe. Cliff could have had a great latex mask or edited some movies and sent that to Johnny. Johnny did mention they could have been myspace clips sent to him.

Eddie and Nikki both suspected Cliff was behind the IM and videos. Nikki seemed to even catch him doing it. When she forced the mystery IMer to sign off after asking what they were wearing, Johnny looked across the way to see Cliff leave his PC. Greta also  somewhat confirmed that Cliff could be doing this to Johnny, but she wouldn’t answer any of his questions about Eddie.

Later Cliff gave Greta a mysterious warning. When she confronted him about terrorizing Johnny, he warned her that Johnny could find out what she really is. Hmmm, so is Cliff doing all this to Johnny, and if so why? Johnny is new to town, what could Cliff have against him? Also what was the comment to Greta about? More hints to this one came at the very end of the show. Johnny got more mysterious IMs from the person claiming to be Eddie who said he didn’t kill himself, he was murdered.

So did Greta kill him? Or maybe Greta and Cliff together? This show is taking on somewhat of an “I know what you did last Summer” feel to it.

Hell’s Kitchen: Something Smells In The Kitchen

Hell’s Kitchen: Something Smells In The Kitchen

Posted by Dustin on 06.11.2007 at 11:14 pm

So tonight was episode 2 of Hell’s Kitchen. In this episode the women’s team had to step up their game against the boys team after last week, when Chef Ramsey referred to them as “Hell’s Bitches.” Unfortunately given the state of the men’s team, it really wasn’t hard at all for them to squash them, which is what they did. The men were just a terrible mess. Actually they were a mess last week, but their mess didn’t shine through over the bitchiness of the women towards one another. I thought Erin the cowboy cried a lot last week, well that is ALL he seemed to do this week! From their inability to get the food out to Erin leaving bones in the fish and taking 15 minutes to de-bone fish at people’s tables, the men were just terrible. Chef Ramsey had it with the men and threw them out, leaving the women to finish the job.

Honestly, I don’t know what to even say about this episode. It left me speechless. Once again, I have to ask why anyone comes to this restaurant to eat? Two weeks in a row the service has been slow and the food cold. I personally wouldn’t eat in any of Chef Ramsey’s restaurants given how I know he treats his employees! I don’t care how dysfunctional they are, making them feel like @#$!#% isn’t going to motivate them. The only thing motivating these people and keeping them in the game is the prize! It was very obvious from tonight’s episode that the guests could hear the chef yelling at his employees. That would have been my cue to walk out, or tell the chef off.

In the end, it was no surprise that the men lost and had to put two up on the chopping block. It should have been Eddie and Erin up there, but it wasn’t. It was Eddie and Josh! Josh is a jerk, so I wouldn’t have mind seeing him go. However Ramsey sent little Eddie packing. In all honesty, it SHOULD have been Erin the crier to go home. Why wasn’t he put up? Why didn’t he go home? Something smells rotten here. I have to wonder if the show made sure to keep Erin around knowing he’s a great source of drama? I don’t know. Maybe the guy putting Josh up was hoping Ramsey would send Josh home?

Reality Roundup And Other Musings

Reality Roundup And Other Musings

Posted by Dustin on 06.10.2007 at 9:13 pm

Boy time ran away from me this week! Let’s see just how much I can remember from what I watched this week.

The final 20 performers were chosen on “So You Think You Can Dance.” I was annoyed that a lot of the ones that were cut were performers they focus so much on in regards to showing them dancing, or telling their heart wrenching stories. For example the various women who had accidents or what not and were told they’d never dance again. Half of the people chosen for the show I don’t think I really even remember from the auditions! Then again with all these shows you normally just remember the bad ones.

Sharron Osborne joined “Americas Got Talent” this year, replacing Brandy as a judge. Also Jerry Springer replaced Regis as the host. I have to say I missed both Brandy and Regis. I do love Sharon, but there is going to be drama between her and Pierce. They had a huge blow up over Pierce being too hard on the acts, especially the kids which he insulted a few times. I felt Sharron was right to say something and get offended. What ultimately ends up bothering me about this show is that it’s somewhat passed of as an amateur talent search, but it’s really not. The guy who did the Cirque De Soleil type act with the swinging scarf (I can’t figure out how to best describe it), well I saw him performing at a club in Vegas! Half of the acts from last year that made it into the finale were all located in Vegas and managed by a group. I know this because I googled one of the acts and found them all on one page. Plus I also saw the feet firing bow and arrow lady in a Vegas show as well.

Finally I also watched “My Life On The DList With Kathy Griffin.” This season Kathy has hired a male assistant/manager to replace her ex, and her own assistant Jessica got her own assistant. Jessica has grown more famous this season, Kathy joked she was more famous than her. Kathy also joked that her parents were more famous than her as well. It was great seeing her parents, love them! Sadly her father recently passed away, I don’t know if it was before they wrapped filming this season or not. The show was funny, but there was a serious tone to it as Kathy broke down in addressing the end of her marriage. Anyways, hopefully it will be a good season. Will Kathy and her new assistant hook up, or will he try and hook up with every famous person who Kathy meets.

Finally some random musings. I still need to finish the season premier of “Footballers Wives.” I’ll probably just have two weeks of comments on it when the 2nd episode airs this week. I did kind of catch the re-run of Lifetime’s “Army Wives.” It wasn’t bad, I just wished I had caught it from the beginning. I’ll have to catch the 2nd episode on rerun, as I really want to try and watch this “John in Cincinnati” show on HBO tonight.
