More Grey’s Drama!

More Grey’s Drama!

It just doesn’t end! The drama that is the real life soap involving Isaiah continues to go on and on.

First up, earlier this week news broke that gay and lesbian activist Jasmyne Cannick had begun to petition for Isaiah to get his job back. She noted that Isaiah’s firing was just one of many prominent African-American roles cut from major primetime shows within the past year. Given the whole incident involving Isaiah, this was huge.

Well when things seemed to be looking up for Isaiah, foot-in-mouth disease seems to have struck! Chron.com has an article in which Isaiah says TR was the trouble maker and should have been fired! He claims TR made the slur incident about him, when it never was. It was all a ploy on TR’s point for more money, according to Isaiah.

I’m no longer sure what world Isaiah is living on after this. TR basically orchestrated his own outing by tabloids and celebrity blogs? Is Isaiah for real? TR only came out and discussed the incidents after the tabloids got a hold of the story and AFTER Isaiah stirred it up even more at the Golden Globes.

Mid-Week Reality Thoughts

Mid-Week Reality Thoughts

Posted by Dustin on 06.20.2007 at 11:11 pm

So this week was the week we knew was coming on “Kathy Griffin.” Her father ended up in the hospital, needing heart surgery. However it turned out he was too weak for that, he wasn’t even able to breath on his own. Kathy had a show to do on Rosie’s R cruise and her mother told her to go. She went against her better judgement. Before she even got on the boat, her father had died. She had to return, canceling the cruise (she will be going on it eventually though). Kathy explained that basically her father knew it was time. When everyone was out of the room he had the doctor put golf on the TV for him to watch and remove the breathing tube from him. He died almost immediately. The day after her father’s memorial service Kathy had a show to do in Vegas. The show went on! I couldn’t imagine having to do a show or any kind of work after something like that. She however said she needed the work to take her mind off his passing. A very emotional episode, which you can’t normally say about Kathy’s show.

Over to “Hell’s Kitchen.” Not one, but two chefs went home this week! Aaron collapsed during the show, was taken to the hospital and was not allowed to return. Oh thank the stars he is gone. I couldn’t deal with having to watch him any more! Once again dinner service was a disaster, pretty much everyone in the restaurant got up and started walking out. In the end the women lost and had to nominate two. They put up Julia and Joanna. Julia again got the nomination because everyone thought she didn’t know the product and wouldn’t be able to cut it. At this point I hope Julia goes all the way! She’s one of the only competent women! Joanna deserved the nomination, she’s been a mess. However a third woman put herself up as she was caught pulling pasta out of the trash to rescue, and Julia told her no. Okay now if there were no cameras around, how many bets that wouldn’t have been an issue? I have heard from people in the restaurant business shady stuff like that happens a lot. Oops the chicken fell on the floor? Pick it up and wash it off! In the end though Joanna went home. Two people I couldn’t stand gone in one episode!

I have never watched “Last Comic Standing” before, but did watch the rerun on Bravo this weekend as nothing else was on. It was pretty good! I’ll probably keep watching the weekend reruns on Bravo, I think there might be something else on while it airs the first time around. I will admit, I didn’t find some of the comics or jokes that funny. Some were good, others I’m not sure why the judges were laughing so hard. I also have to say I tend to have a crude sense of humor, what I’d really bust a gut over wouldn’t be allowed on network TV for sure!

Finally I also watched the new season premier of “Top Chef” on Bravo. Again I have never got into this one, but nothing else was on. I liked it too. I liked seeing the fun dishes they came up with given their ingredients. I don’t think I’d want to eat most of them, as this episode dealt with exotic things like eel and rattle snake. However everything looked really pretty.

New “Heroes!”

New “Heroes!”

Posted by Dustin on 06.20.2007 at 11:41 am

David Anders NBC has announced casting for a whopping six new “Heroes” for next season.

David Anders will join the show as Takezo Kensei, the samurai of legend Hiro talked about often through the first season (it was this guys sword Hiro was after). It is obviously assumed this character will be part of the storyline where Hiro travels to the past, but he may be making the leap to the present as well. Eriko Tamaru will be playing a Japanese princess, probably in the past as well. This may be the love interest role mentioned earlier for Hiro.

Barry Shabaka Henley joins as New York Detective Fuller. Holt McCallany plays Ricky, the leader of an Irish gang. Ricky is believed to have powers, Detective Fuller is unknown.

Lyndsy Fonseca and Dianna Agron join the show as cheerleaders April and Debbie in California where Claire will now be living. Word has it that one of the cheerleaders Claire comes into contact this season will be a lesbian.

Hidden Palms Season Finale Spoilers

Hidden Palms Season Finale Spoilers

Posted by Dustin on 06.20.2007 at 1:03 am

“Hidden Palms” wraps up it’s first season on July 4th. As of yet, there is no word whether the show might be picked up and come back in the fall. I don’t think it’s looking good thought.

THE KILLER IS REVEALED – Convinced that Maria (guest star Valerie Cruz) is guilty of killing her son, Johnny (Taylor Handley) asks Cliff (Michael Cassidy) to help retrieve incriminating evidence he believes is on Eddie’s (J.D. Pardo) laptop. Cliff fakes reconciliation with Maria to get inside her house but she kicks him out when he gets too close to the computer. Determined to find evidence against Maria, Liza (Ellary Porterfield) breaks into her house and is stunned by what she finds. Amber Heard, Sharon Lawrence, D. W. Moffett and Gail O’Grady also star.

NBC Hopes For The Next “Ugly Betty”

NBC Hopes For The Next “Ugly Betty”

NBC has acquired the rights to the Colombian hit “Sin Tetas No Hay Paraiso,” which translates to “Without Breasts, There’s No Paradise.” NBC is planning to put both an English and Spanish version on NBC and Telemundo at the same time!

From what little I’ve read, the show is about a 17 year old flat chested girl who feels if she doesn’t have breasts she won’t make it in life. The show is apparently a huge smash in Colombia, even bigger than their version of “Ugly Betty.”

Reality Roundup (Last Week)

Reality Roundup (Last Week)

Posted by Dustin on 06.18.2007 at 7:50 pm

I am way late with last week’s Reality Roundup. I honestly didn’t get to see that much I’m afraid. Here is what I watched and what I can remember.

I of course watched my girl Kathy on her show “Life on the D List.” This week Kathy was preforming in Michigan at a Chili Cook-off. Yeah it probably doesn’t get any more D-List than that. She was also having issues selling tickets to her show, and didn’t help matters by dropping the F-bomb in front of perspective ticket buyers. In the end it seemed her show went off okay.

Later Kathy decided she wanted to be photographed by the paparazzi. What better way than go on a date with another D-Lister. She thought that AJ from “The Backstreet Boys” would be a good choice, but he passed. I thought he was married? Anyways she ended up dating Nick Carter. Well not really dating, they went out, she got the photos she wanted. Nick actually tried to kiss her though! Is he serious? What was ironic about this whole thing is when I saw her doing stand-up, after these shows were taped of course, she made fun of Nick and his whole family based on their own reality show “The Carters.” Therefore I couldn’t believe she went out with the guy!

I also tuned into “The Simple Life” this week. Paris and Nicole had to help with girls, teens through six year olds, who wanted to win beauty pageants. Oh lord! One of the mothers got all upset because Nicole taught her 6 year old how to flip the bird. Well you left your kids with Paris and Nicole, be glad that was all they taught them! The second part of beauty pageant school airs this week, with Paris and Nicole deciding the moms of the kids have to compete themselves, which apparently sends them into nervous breakdowns (the moms).

Finally I turned into “Americas Got Talent.” I was actually pleasantly surprised by the acts they put through this week. They weren’t the professional Vegas like acts, but a lot of down to earth regular joes. I liked that! Sharron Osborne is getting on my nerves though.

Burke’s Departure On Grey’s

Burke’s Departure On Grey’s

Posted by Dustin on 06.18.2007 at 5:27 pm

I know Isaiah’s depature from “Grey’s” has people talking. It’s been discussed on here a bit, with some people upset he’s gone and others glad to see him go. A few more interesting quotes have surfaced on the character’s departure from the show.

Shonda Rhimes, the creator of “Grey’s Anatomy,” told “Access Hollywood” there will be no recasting of Isaiah Washington’s character Dr. Burke.

Meanwhile, Isaiah has told Entertainment Weekly that if asked, he would return to “Grey’s” for a cameo appearance.

Heroes Season 2 Casting

Heroes Season 2 Casting

Nick D’Agosto will join “Heroes” in season 2 as a character named West, who will be Claire’s boyfriend. West will have powers, those have not been revealed.

I don’t know about you all, but what happened to Zack? I liked him and will miss him if they don’t bring him back. However the character caused a huge controversy, so my thoughts are the show wants to forget him. For those not in the know, originally it seemed the character was written as Claire’s gay friend. Later when they made it clear Zack wasn’t gay, there was a big hoopla over whether the show was ordered to change tactics with the character or not.

Footballers Wive$ New Season Thoughts

Footballers Wive$ New Season Thoughts

Posted by Dustin on 06.17.2007 at 10:30 pm

I’ve finally caught up with the first two episodes of the new season of Footballers Wive$ on BBC America. Here are some quick thoughts on the stories (the ones I recall!)

A few new characters have been introduced this season. Tremain, a new player on the team and his wife Liberty. Liberty has this blond exotic assistant that she’s, shall we say, shagging behind her hubby’s back. It seems the assistant at the same time is trying to get the hubby in bed too! She is up to something with them, she’s playing a game.

Bruno and Lucy tried to get married in the season opener, but Lucy learned he never divorced his ex so their whole marriage was a fraud. She ran off and it seems Lucy and the kids are gone. I’m not sure if they will be coming back or not anytime this season, which by the way is the final season of the series.

Amber, who has been “informed” by Conrad’s spirit that Bruno killed him, has taken up with Bruno in an attempt to drive him crazy. This actually is the best story of the season so far. She found the gun he used that he buried and planted it in the bed. Has been leaving messages from Conrad on his voice mail. Love it! This is what the show is about, pure camp. Campy as that huge rock Amber has on her finger!

Meanwhile Shannan and Darius are now hooking up and Darius had an “accident” which has apparently ended his career. Roger, the team coach, seems to think the new owner of the team may have arranged it. Hmmmmm.

I have to say I’m looking forward to the return of Tanya this season. She really is what the show is about, and it’s just not the same without her. I also have to say I miss Hazel’s character so much! I loved the paintings of herself she had all over her office.

Behind on TV Again!

Behind on TV Again!

Posted by Dustin on 06.16.2007 at 12:13 am

I’ll do a reality round up again this weekend with my thoughts on what I was able to see. Unfortunately I missed “So You Think You Can Dance” entirely this week. I need to tape it in another room, there are too many other things on when it airs.

I finally got through the first episode of the new season of “Footballer Wives.” Now I just have to watch episode 2, which I only somewhat paid attention to the first run. I did tivo it though 🙂 Loving the Amber and Bruno story there, I just wish they’d hurry up and get my Tanya back!

I’m now 2 episodes behind on “Traveler” as well. I need to try and watch them online and catch up this weekend. Has it gotten any better? I was starting to get a little bored with it, too much running around.
