TV Writers Set To Strike

TV Writers Set To Strike

You’ve probably heard about this on the news or read about it in the papers, but if you haven’t, well TV could start sucking a lot soon. Basically the Writers Guild of America is set to strike beginning November 1st if contract negotiations can’t be reached by the end of the month. The last time this happened was in 1988 and lasted 5 months!

Should writers strike, we’ll probably have new episodes running possibly up to the end of the year. It will really all depend on how many scripts are done. This of course would spell disaster for many shows that are set to begin mid-season, such as Lost and 24. Oh and yes, the soaps and many daytime shows would be hit too, more likely before any other shows on television.

  2. Also 24 already has 8 episodes filmed so they should be safe for awhile.
