Bionic Woman: Infestation

Bionic Woman: Infestation

Posted by Dustin on 10.10.2007 at 7:39 pm

I was finally able to watch last week’s “Bionic Woman” this weekend. I am so loving this show! It’s one of my new favorites of the season.

In this past episode we learned Will Anthros actually died after being shot by Sarah! What what what? He’s listed on the main NBC page as a cast member. Is he really dead, or is he being hidden? Jamie later learned Will had a file on her which started 2 years before they officially met. What’s going on here? It looks like they had been targeting Jamie all along.

Jamie did some soul searching in this episode to find out what she wanted to do with her life. She ran into a stranger who gave her some advice. This was Isiah Washington’s character, who it turns out works as part of the company. Jamie eventually agreed to join the team.

For her first assignment, Jamie accompanied Ruth to a town that was poisoned mysteriously by a chemical the team created awhile back. They had to find out who had it and what they had planned for it. As it turned out, they planned to target and destroy major cities all over the US, the little town was a test run. It appears the team stopped a major terrorist strike in the US, but why did they developed this chemical weapon in the first place? That question was never answered. Hmmm.

We also found out in this episode that Jae Kim and Sarah Corvus were apparently secretly married! Sarah admitted to Jae that she believes someone hacked her and that’s why she went out of control and killed so many members of the team, before Jae was forced to “kill” her. Was she really hacked? If so, why did she try and kill Jamie and Will? Hmmmmm . . . . .

So last night Wayne went home on “Dancing With The Stars.” I really can’t say I was surprised, but I was surprised Marc Cuban didn’t end up in the bottom two with him. I think Marc, Floyd and Cameron will be the next ones to probably go home. It’s getting going to get hard to figure out who will continue to go on from here, as each week it seems someone new stands out from the others.

Heroes: Kindred

Heroes: Kindred

Last night’s episode of Heroes was just so so for me. Let’s get dishin on what happened.

First up, Maya and Alejandro continued to make their way to the US, but Alejandro was caught and put in jail. Nothing really new happening here with them, aside from them running into an American with a car who seems to be helping them possible across the border, given they helped him out of jail.

West confronted Claire at school about her power. She tried to convince him he didn’t see what he did, but he wouldn’t let it go. West revealed to Claire he had a power too, he could fly. The two bonded and spent time together. Claire noticed a scar on his neck, much like those left on people last season by “The Company” and their tracking device. He revealed he doesn’t remember much, he lost a whole day but does remember the face of the man with the horned rim glasses . . . uh oh!

Meanwhile Surresh called Noah (HRG) to warns him what he had found at “The Company.” The last of the paintings they had bought up. In the final painting of a series, Noah is dead and Claire and mysterious man stand in the distance! Oh dear! It looks like Noah’s past might be coming back to haunt him. Of course they changed the paintings last season, so this doesn’t mean it will come to pass. I hope not, I don’t want to see him killed off.

Hiro helped Takezo find out he had the power to heal, much like Claire’s power. He then helped him rescue the fire scrolls or something and set him on the path to becoming the hero of legend. He was about to return home, but didn’t because he’s in love with the girl Takezo is supposed to marry. This isn’t going to be good at all, and I think may end up leading to Takezo becoming evil.

Niki and Micah returned and we learned that DL is in fact dead. Niki dropped Micah off at his Grandma Uhuru’s house. She told him not to use his powers, then she went off to do something. It seems the something she’s doing is looking for a cure for her powers. She ended up at “The Company,” who claimed they could cure her . . . . but want something in return. How many times is she going to be used by “The Company?”

Peter continued to explore using his powers and basically helped the family who has been imprisoning him and holding him hostage. They’ve now adopted him into their clan, and even offered to give him his identify back. Peter of course is now scared of what he might find, so is not yet opening the box with the answers to his past in it.

Sylar returned in this episode, we learned he was saved by the Shape Shifter at the end of last season. Sylar however has lost all his powers so it seems! More than that, when he killed her and tried to take her powers . . . he couldn’t! This is a very interesting turn of events!

Brothers and Sisters: Justin Comes Home

Brothers and Sisters: Justin Comes Home

Posted by Dustin on 10.08.2007 at 5:23 pm

Last night’s episode of “B&S” was heartbreaking and infuriating at the same time!

The show began with Robert and Kitty at a soldier’s funeral. Robert is getting flack from his campaign staff for attending these funerals, for talking about his family too much, for not focusing on the issues. Kitty is also under fire and some think she should resign.

Justin was back and at a VA hospital recuperating, his knee and leg had been injured and undergone many surgeries. Kitty, Nora and Kevin drove to the hospital to pick up Justin. On the way they heard a radio show skewering Robert, as well as Kitty and her family. Norma and Kevin couldn’t take it and wanted to call in, but Kitty wouldn’t let them . . . until she too reached her breaking point. The guy made comments about how Nora was a traitor, and also ended up slandering Kevin and Jason. Kitty called in, and of course made things so much worse with her comments. That and the fact that Nora and Kevin added two cents in as well.

We were introduced to an old friend of Rebecca’s this week, who Rebbecca set up with a job at the family company as the office manager. There was a hilarious scene when she met Saul at work and offered to set him up with her single aunt. When he refused, she assumed he was gay and had a friend she could set him up with. Tommy interjected in that his uncle was not gay, she had made a mistake. She of course felt terrible about it, but it was humorous as we the viewers know the truth! I also have a bad feeling about Rebecca’s friend. Any friend of Rebecca’s and Holly’s is suspicious in my book and probably will end up causing trouble somehow.

Joe the scum sucking husband told Sarah that he had reconnected with his ex Paula. Sarah laid into him, saying she realizes now she wasted so many years on him. She said she loved him, but the sad thing is he is incapable of loving himself. Later Rebbecca finally admitted to Sarah that Joe’s kiss wasn’t one sided, she kissed him back and even led him on. Sarah was not happy and told her she was only confessing because the guilt got to her. Had she told her earlier it could have helped, but she didn’t. Rebecca ended up back at Holly’s by the end of the episode, feeling she didn’t fit in with the family at all and had only been pretending all summer long. Holly admitted she is the one who did this to Rebbecca, and she’s sorry. Aw, so touching . . . to bad I don’t feel bad for either of them!

Justin meanwhile came home and was determined to try and live as normally as he could. Nora however was warned that once the pain meds from the hospital wore off, Justin would be in extreme pain. The doctor said normally they’d prescribe something, but Justin is being insistent he not take anything because of his addiction problems. The doctor said this was brave and stupid at the same time, because it was not realistic that he could recover and do his therapy without the meds. The episode ended with Justin in tears because the pain meds wore off and he wouldn’t take anything. Nora held him as they tried to deal with it. So heartbreaking!

Robert meanwhile went on the radio guys show to do damage control and stood up to the guy, saying Kitty’s family may be different, but that is what makes them American and keeps him close and reminded of how this country is made up of many different people. Kitty of course is probably going to continue to remain an issue for Robert’s campaign. I really hope they don’t plan on calling off the wedding over these issues. I honestly however can’t see them making Robert the president. It would just change way too much of the show. Of course I guess the presidency issue isn’t something that has to be dealt with until next year.

Desperate Housewives: Pie Thief!

Desperate Housewives: Pie Thief!

Posted by Dustin on 10.08.2007 at 5:01 pm

So lets talk about “Desperate Housewives” and what happened on last night’s episode.

The show opened with Carlos and Gabby still going at it and hiding their affair from Edie. Meanwhile Mrs. Mcclusky told Dylan how she remembered when she was little her dad would come by to try and see her. Dylan said that is impossible, her dad died when she was little. Mrs. Mcclusky said sorry but nope! The plot thickens! Dylan confronted her mom, who basically wouldn’t talk about it.

Bree becomes obsessed with Katherine’s lemon meringue pie in this episode, as it was better than hers and she had to know what her secret ingredient was.

Susan meanwhile remembered the day years ago Katherine suddenly left, claiming she got a new job in Chicago and had to go. She was in such a rush she wouldn’t let Julie say goodbye to Dylan.

Meanwhile Bree sneaks into Katherine’s house to steal the recipe for the lemon meringue pie. Unfortunately Katherine and Dylan returned home. Dylan was furious with her mother for lying to her about her father, thinking her mother has lied to her for her whole life. Dylan ran off after being slapped. Katherine talked to her husband about how Dylan doesn’t know exactly what she had done for her. Her husband Adam suggested they tell her, but Katherine refused. Bree heard all! Of course this means the other neighbors will soon know as well.

Lynette and Gabby had some girl bonding at the hospital. Lynette felt Gabby didn’t care that much about her after all, as she kept avoiding going with her to chemo and keeping her occupied, all the other girls had done it. Gabby went, but was uncomfortable. She finally opened up to Lynette she had to watch her father die of cancer when she was five, and her mother forced her to always put on a fake smile and never cry in front of him. Gabby felt she couldn’t do that in front of Lynette, she couldn’t lose her too. Lynette promised she wouldn’t lose her.

Carlos continued to be pushed by Edie, who is basically blackmailing him over his illegal Cayman Island’s bank account. She got him to get engaged and even tried to buy herself an expensive sports car. Fed up, Carlos paid some man to deal with Edie. Uh oh! It sure looks like Carlos has put out a hit on her!

Mike and Susan meanwhile dealt with different ideas of disciplining Julie, who wanted to go to a party. Mike felt the party was too rowdy, but Susan let her go . . . only to later learn the party was in fact too rowdy. She had to try and get Julie back and not let Mike find out she let her go. Mike of course told Susan he’d never tell her how to raise Julie, he’d always respect her decisions. However their kid is another thing, they’ll be raising him or her together.

So we did learn a bit more about the mystery involving Katherine and Dylan. Clearly it has something to do with Dylan’s father, perhaps he in fact was the man standing over her bed in her memories? It’s sure looking like this is an abuse storyline and Katherine may have killed her husband, but I think it’s more than that. That is too easy. I’m willing to bed they were separating and or divorced, and the father actually had custody of the girl. Perhaps Katherine killed him to keep him away from Dylan?

Ghost Whisperer: Bloody Mary! Plus some Moonlight Talk

Ghost Whisperer: Bloody Mary! Plus some Moonlight Talk

Posted by Dustin on 10.07.2007 at 3:48 pm

I really enjoyed this week’s episode of “Ghost Whisperer.” If you missed it, it was about the local university and a group of girls being haunted by Bloody Mary, who of course as it turns out was originally from Grandview.

While the episode was good, in fact one of my favorites so far, it didn’t do much to advance the story of Gabriel, Melinda’s father or her mother’s secret. It was a very stand alone episode. I couldn’t help but feel it would have been better off being the Halloween episode. Now I wonder how they’ll top it for Halloween?

In other news, “Moonlight” kinda failed to hold my attention this week. I did kinda pay attention to it, and I know what went on, but it just didn’t lock me in. Given it follows GW, I’ll probably continue to watch it, I just don’t know if it will be one of those shows I love. It’s definitely not a “must see” show for me at this point.

Ugly Betty: Episode 2

Ugly Betty: Episode 2

Posted by Dustin on 10.06.2007 at 7:55 pm

So a whole lot went on in the second episode of Ugly Betty. Where to begin? It’s been a few days since I saw it, so hopefully I can remember everything.

Hilda and Justin dealt with Santos’ death in this episode, packing up his things to get rid of and keep what they wanted to hold onto. Justin also continued working at Mode and basically was the only intern to do anything right and impressed Mark. A touching little scene with Mark telling Justin even though his dad was gone, he did a good job and should be happy and proud of himself, it was okay. He then told Amanda how he was a great person as he made a little person happy! Too funny.

Amanda is still waiting on the test results to find out if she is Bradford’s daughter. In the meantime she’s taking care of Faye’s dog.

Willamina got a body guard to protect her from Claire and had an affair with him! Unfortunately she was caught by Betty, who was breaking in to her place steal “The Book” for Daniel. Daniel needed to approve of it, and Wilamena of course is trying to usurp the thrown and control of the magazine as usual.

Willamina kept Betty quiet about the affair and basically on her side against Daniel by arranging for Ignacio to get his Visa and come home. Poor Betty, she somehow always ends up under Willamina’s thumb.

Henry returned in this episode, but he had a whole lot of issues. He wants to be with Betty, but loves the idea of being a father. Therefore he was confused, and Betty wasn’t going to be the one to break his heart. Christina finally told him that Charlie cheated, the kid may not be his. Somehow I don’t think Betty and Henry’s reunion is going to be an easy one at all.

Bradford saw a second chance to make things right with Alex/Alexis this week and took it. Alex/Alexis couldn’t recall most of the past two years, including his sex change. Some of the best scenes was her grabbing her own boobs and giving Daniel the thumbs up. Daniel of course doesn’t like that his father is suddenly accepting of Alexis, when in fact he originally told her she was dead to him. He also doesn’t like that his father is lying about his upcoming wedding to Wilamena to Alexis. Bradford explained he almost lost Alex twice, he wouldn’t lose him/her again.

Of course because Alex/Alexis doesn’t know about the wedding, Bradford suggested they postpone it until Alexis is better and stronger. Wilamena was not happy. I however was. I want Claire to come back and kick some serious Willamina butt and soon!

Finally the episode ended with Ignacio set to come home when he was accosted by someone, probably sent by his wife’s Ex who wants to get his revenge. Oh no! I was wondering when this part was finally come back to haunt him.
