Medium: The Dreams Continue

Last week’s “Medium” I thought was just okay. In the episode Alison kept dreaming that Ariel died in a car accident where her car flipped after hitting a dear. Meanwhile Ariel was angry that Allison wouldn’t let her go to a concert with a boy until she was 16. She started dreaming about her mom sneaking out to a concert when she was 14, and followed in her footsteps. At the same time the woman from Ameritips was upset that Allison wasn’t much help with a kidnapped girl in the area. In the end, as in the last minute, it all came together. In the past, Allison and her friend Casey Tunstall got busted catching a ride to the concert. The cop dropped Allison off at her home and Casey, whose body Ariel took over in the dreams, was apparently raped or something equally horrific by the cop. Allison just suddenly figured out this cop kidnapped the missing girl Angelica Houston’s character was looking for. She figured this out when she learned her friend Casey died years ago when she hit a deer. Casey + Ariel = bad cop. While I enjoyed the fact that they concentrated more on the family dynamics, I just felt the mystery in this episode was lacking. It just suddenly came together at the last minute, which was a little blahzay for me. Oh and hello, I was expecting Allison’s friend to actually turn out to be the singer KT Tunstall! I sat there thinking that was the whole point of the show, the name was just so close, I thought a big cameo!

Last night’s episode was a bit more like the “Medium” I know and love. Joe was up for a job at a company owned by Michael Gross. His wife happened to be Dr. Grey and was a big believer in Allison. This came in handy when their daughter went missing. Allison of course was confused, all her dreams were of the daughters first marriage and honeymoon in Paris . . . or where they? In the dream the daughter was unhappy and stabbed the man in the hand with a corkscrew! The big twist came when she learned the first husband made dioramas for museums, and had recreated their Paris hotel room down to the last detail. He had kidnapped her and taken her there. Of course she was rescued, but the father sold his company . . . to Diatech, Joe’s old company. The show ended with them discussing the possibility of moving as Joe couldn’t find jobs anywhere.

Now the bad news . . . no new “Mediums” for four weeks! Nooooooo!
