A Blahzay End To Betty?

A Blahzay End To Betty?

It appears last night’s episode of “Ugly Betty” is actually the last episode of the season, as “Lost” takes over next week. For me it was kind of a let down. I realize it wasn’t their fault, as the stike cut the season short, but other shows seemed to at least try and go out on a shocker.

Most of the episode focused on Betty, who asked to write a freelance article for the magazine. Daniel allowed her to, as their other writer dropped out and they couldn’t replace them. Betty thought she was interviewing some insightful author, but it turned out it was a guy who wrote books about how to score with women. She was appalled and didn’t want to do it, but Daniel tricked her into doing it by claiming she wasn’t as open minded as he thought, and the writer requested someone else (which he didn’t). When she later confronted him about duping her, he told her that she had to learn to write about things she didn’t want to, that is what being a writer is about.

To do research for her article, Gio and Henry got into a war with each other testing out the book’s methods and asking women out, basically by being rude and insulting them to get their attention and then their numbers. Clearly what this was was a war not over the women, but over Betty. Who will win out in the end? Guess we have to wait till next season!

Amanda planned a concert to get Gene Simmon’s attention, thinking he was her dad. He showed up and just seemed to accept she was his daughter and they left to talk. That was it? There better be more to this story to come!

Finally Daniel unknowingly went out with Willy’s sister. He tried to break it off because of who she was, but Betty convinced him that if he liked her to date her, she may not be like Willy. Christina, who is resting at Willy’s place after the implantation, overheard Willy confront her sister about how if Daniel found out who she really was that it would be over. Very interesting, but for me not the cliffhanger I was hoping for. Now it seems we have to wait for next season to get some of these storylines resolved.

  1. I totally agree about the rather blah-say show. I was so excited for it and then was let down when the Gio vs. Henry thing just fizzled. The commercial made it out to seem way more exciting but it wasn’t very. I like Gio and Betty together. I felt that the show was a lot of filler without a lot of “umph” like the other shows were this season. I hope the strike ends soon so we’re not left with this blah ending to a great show.
