Tonight’s Insane Cliffhangers On Grey’s

Tonight’s Insane Cliffhangers On Grey’s

Posted by Dustin on 05.15.2009 at 12:06 am

First off, I think this is the worst cliffhanger I’ve ever seen! What the hell, that was just mean!

First the good, Christina and Owen finally admitted they loved each other and would try and work things out, as they couldn’t bear to be apart.

The “huh?” Derek and Meredith got married via a post-it. They were too busy to go down to city hall, so they just had an “I do” ceremony between them and wrote vows on a post-it as their certificate. Um, odd, and not at all fulfilling, but quirky like them.

The not so happy – Baily doesn’t know if she can take the Pedes fellowship. Her rat husband Tucker told her if she did, they’d be over. He can’t take two more years of her working long hours as a resident when she could be an attending. On one hand I can see why he’d be frustrated, on the other . . . Tucker’s always been an ass.

Mark and Lexie had some tiff, and it seems Mark just went off and dumped her. WTH!

The horrible – George and Izzie are currently dead.

George enlisted to become a military doc, but was involved in a horrid car accident. He was brought in as a John Doe, as his face was so beat up. Later he signaled to Meredith, buy writing “007” on her palm, letting her know who he was.

Izzie meanwhile had the surgery, came out alive, knew who she was and who everyone else was, but had short term memory. She would forget everything she was told basically a minute or two after being told. They did not know if it was permanent. Toward the end of the show though, she began remembering, it was looking up.

Unfortunately George flatlined, then Izzie flatlined. Everyone was working to save both, even though Izzie had a DNR order she signed before surgery as she didn’t want to live on a ventilator if something went wrong. The final scene was of Izzie and George, clearly ghosts, meeting each other in the hospital corridor. Izzie was wearing the prom dress and was going down the elevator. When the doors opened, George was outside in military dress attire waiting!

I just can’t believe they did this. This is just torture. This is as bad as the “Private Practice” finale. No it’s worse, cause right now two people ARE dead. Will they survive? Will they come back next season? My guess is we won’t know for awhile, that the show and ABC are probably still making that decision. Katherine Heigl has gone on record saying she wants to stay, but I’m not sure about T.R. Knight.

P.S. I know this isn’t really a full well thought out post, I just wanted to get something up as I knew people were going to want to talk about this ending!

The Final 2 On Idol, An Upset?

The Final 2 On Idol, An Upset?

So last night Danny Gokey was given the boot on “Idol,” shocking many. Kris looked stunned when he was told he had made it, I think he and many expected he would go. Even the judges I think expected it to be Danny and Adam in the final for weeks now.

Personally, I think the right two people made it. I think Kris is a great singer, though I’m not a fan of his musical styling to be honest. However both he and Adam have been the most creative and inventive when it comes to taking songs and completely doing them in different ways to suit their personality and styles.

I’m very interested to see what songs they do next week and how they choose to perform them!

Desperate Housewives Spin-Off?

Desperate Housewives Spin-Off?

Posted by Dustin on 05.14.2009 at 10:22 am

What’s On TV (UK) is reporting a rumor that ABC has a “Housewives” spin-off in the works. The show would star Kathryn Joosten and Lily Tomlin, who play sisters Karen and Roberta McCluskey, on “Housewives.” Not much more is known, and the report claims ABC is hoping writer Marc Cherry will be on board to write the show.

Post-Note: An ABC rep is now denying this rumor.

90210: It’s Prom Time!

90210: It’s Prom Time!

Posted by Dustin on 05.13.2009 at 12:27 pm

It’s been awhile since I did a 90210 post, so I thought I would whip up a quick one. Oddly enough, I’ve really been enjoying the show, more than I thought I would. Next week is the big season finale, and the previews look great.

Naomi’s sis Jen is a skank, and I loved the conflict between her and Kelly. I so knew the minute Jen joked she was broke that she was after Naomi’s trust fun. However the end of the show through a curve, Jen is married and in the midst of a divorce. It sounded at first like she blew threw her money, but did her husband?

Kelly told Ryan she had moved on from him, then seemingly paid far too much attention to principal Harry with her eyes. Oh no, they wouldn’t!

Next week it looks like Jen sleeps with Liam, but Naomi flips and suspect he slept with Annie. Naomi needs some serious anger management meds!

Silver was back to her old self and finally likable, but her awesome “proms suck” speech turned off Dixon, but turned on Ethan. We know Ethan is leaving by next season, so whats the deal? Ethan turned down sports camp to go see his dad in Montana for the summer. My bet is he doesn’t come back.

The show ended with Adrianna in labor. Shannan Dougherty returns next week, my guess is so Brenda can adopt the baby. Where is Donna though? I loved her return and want to see more of her!

Gilles Marini Joins Brothers And Sisters

Gilles Marini Joins Brothers And Sisters

Posted by Dustin on 05.13.2009 at 12:21 pm

Gilles Marini told OK Magazine that he’ll be joining “Brothers and Sisters” next season. It’s unknown what his role is (it’s still a secret) or how many episodes he’ll be on.

Let the speculation begin! The easy guess is a love interest for poor lonely Sarah, but that’s kinda easy . . . too easy.

Someone from Rebecca’s past? We know she has some kind of obsessive disorder when it comes to men, so it would seem.

Brothers and Sisters: Bored In Mexico

Brothers and Sisters: Bored In Mexico

Posted by Dustin on 05.12.2009 at 6:32 pm

So this past Sunday was the season finale of “Brothers and Sisters,” and I have to say I was pretty let down. There were no cliff hangers, no real shockers of any kind. I guess in one way it’s nice to have a happy-ish end so we don’t suffer for months waiting to find out what happens. On the other hand, I did expect a little more.

The Walkers all ended up going down to Mexico to find Tommy. Before going, Rebecca and Justin told Holly and David they were engaged. Holly was less than thrilled, which upset Rebecca. Holly later told David that Rebecca basically has a problem with men, it’s like she becomes obsessed with a man and very clingy and attached. She apparently followed her high school history teacher out to Chicago after having an affair with him when she was 16.

Sarah, not wanting to just fire Ryan and leave him with nothing, had a severance package made up. She asked Saul to give it to Ryan. He did, but when Ryan asked if he thought he should sign it . . . Saul told him no! Saul went to Holly and told her the truth, that William had sent him to break up with Ryan’s mom. He did it, and was completely unfeeling about it as well. He feels guilty. He asked Holly if he could return to Ojai to keep an eye on Ryan, he felt he owed him that. Holly said Saul would owe her!

The Walkers all went down to Mexico, where Tommy was living in some spiritual commune and working on projects to help a poor town. Everyone was all understanding and accepting of Tommy, trying not to be judgmental. Kevin however wouldn’t be, he told Tommy he screwed up big time and he for one didn’t need him coming back home, he was tired of the family rescuing him everytime he failed. Tommy told his family that Kevin was right, he screwed up and now he has to fix it. He was staying in Mexico for now, being here, doing what he was doing, he needed to do it. He hoped he would heal in time and return home.

Robert flew down to Mexico to basically tell Kitty if she really wanted a separation then she would get it. She could move out, they’d work out a custody arrangement. He went to leave and Kitty finally realized that wasn’t what she wanted. She tried to stop him, but he didn’t hear her and flew off.

Justin proposed to Rebecca in front of his whole family. She was having issues as it seemed like he didn’t want to tell his family about them. Justin just didn’t think this was the right time with Tommy and all. She went a bit psycho trying to convince Justin to elope while in Mexico, but he wanted them to marry in front of their families.

The Walkers were thrilled by the proposal, and the news that Justin got into med school. They all returned home, minus Tommy of course.

Again, it was a very tame finale. Holly irked me telling Saul that he’d “owe” her for letting him return to Ojai. Meanwhile Rebecca clearly has some issues about men, which probably don’t bode well with her future with Justin. He’s already gone one addiction problem, he doesn’t need Rebecca turning psycho on him.

Desperate Housewives: Face Lift and Fake Marriages

Desperate Housewives: Face Lift and Fake Marriages

Posted by Dustin on 05.11.2009 at 8:15 pm

So last night’s “Housewives” was entertaining, but a lot of the stories seemed to be filler to me. Next week is the 2 hour finale (really just two episodes back to back). It looks good, I hope it doesn’t disappoint!

Tom went on job interviews but found himself in the same position Lynette was a few months back, he was older than everyone else. After meeting a school friend of his who looked years younger, he learned the guy had a face lift. Tom decided that was what he needed. Lynette however convinced him otherwise, pointing out if he changed himself how long before he wanted her to have surgery? Also she told him they wouldn’t look like they matched anymore.

Gabby realized Juanita was becoming a bit spoiled (shocker!) and decided she needed some humbling, so she took her to a soup kitchen to work. It was Gabby who got the real shock when she ran into a woman who used to run in her circles. The woman’s husband got sick and it ended up costing them everything, leaving her homeless and eating out of soup kitchens. She warned Gabby they were all one bad luck disaster away from being broke. Gabby wouldn’t accept that, saying Carlos was blind for 5 years, they were flat broke but worked to survive. However the woman’s words still got to her as she clearly worried.

Karl convinced Bree that Orson was going to get half of everything unless they did something drastic. They staged a break-in, stealing things Bree wanted to make sure she kept. She then stored them in a storage facility. One of the things stolen was some mask that Orson bought her on their honeymoon in Venice. He called the shop with a sketch he drew of the mask to try and get a replacement for her, because she meant that much. It seemed like Bree was having doubts. Karl played on her though, saying her doubts of “will I ever find love again” are doubts every woman going through a divorce has, and to remain firm. Orson however got a call from the storage facility about the check Bree wrote them. He went to check it out and found all their stolen stuff!

Susan and Jackson ran into a snag with their marriage. By getting remarried, Mike wouldn’t have to pay her alimony, and she depended on that money. She decided to go to Mike and tell him the truth about their marriage to see if he would continue to help her out. Unfortunately she didn’t anticipate one thing . . . . Mike proposed to Katherine after learning of Susan and Jackson’s plans!

Susan came a knocking on Mike’s door to talk to him, but he wasn’t home. Katherine, who was on the phone with Dave, was. Susan decided to tell her the deal, thinking Mike would tell her anyways. Katherine assured Susan she’d continue getting her checks, and later sent Susan a text using Mike’s number assuring Susan it wouldn’t be a problem. Sneaky sneaky!

Unfortunately Dave heard Susan talking to Katherine, as he was still on the phone, and he knew what he had to do. He called immigration, who arrested Jackson just and he and Susan were headed to get married. Oops! This took care of his problem with Jackson talking to the police and exposing him it seems, as well as freed Susan up for that fishing trip.

My Thoughts
It was an interesting episode, but like I said, it seemed to have a lot of filler.

I didn’t understand the point of Bree and Karl robbing Bree’s house honestly. Even though she saved some of her belongings, half her business I assume would still go to Orson. Now that he knows what she did, her goose is totally cooked. He will blackmail her into not divorcing him.

Tom was way annoying in this episode with his ongoing mid-life crisis drama. From the previews for next week though, oh brother! Lynette ends up at the doctor thinking her Leukemia is back. No Lynette, given all that sex you’re probably pregnant . . . again!

Gabby’s storyline was total filler, unless it was a predictor of financial ruin. Given they’ve been there done that, I can’t see them doing that again honestly. Is it my imagination, or did they get a new actress for her younger daughter?

Katherine once again just got on my every last nerve. She’s really doing all she can to hold onto Mike, and it will eventually backfire when he finds out. I do feel somewhat sorry for her though, as she has to realize Mike’s proposal was basically a major “settle.” He didn’t want to marry again until he found out Susan was marrying Jackson. It basically screamed “Well I’ve lost Susan for good, might as well marry Katherine.”

Ghost Whisperer Meets Twilight?

Ghost Whisperer Meets Twilight?

Posted by Dustin on 05.09.2009 at 6:58 pm

Again in my opinion, this week we got another lackluster episode of “Ghost Whisperer.” However unlike last week’s voodoo house episode, at least this one made sense!

In this episode a girl at Ned’s school was being haunted by a boy who liked her and moved away long ago. However she, being into vampire lore as with a large percentage of the current teen girl population, thought she was being seduced by a vampire. She also thought the vampire was a boy in her school that she liked. The ghost was using the vampire lore to try and convince her to basically commit suicide so they could be together. Melinda helped both the girl and the ghost in the end.

Frankly, the whole episode was simply exploiting the “Twilight” craze going on. There was very little to do with Jim/Sam and Melinda’s upcoming wedding. They did at least address the parents issue. Jim’s mom was being invited, but not yet told about the whole Sam/Jim thing. For now Sam was the nice man who was going to help her raise Jim’s baby. Sam’s parents would be told later on down the road.

Oddly enough, the one character I hated in the beginning of the season is the one I was most interested in this and the last episode. Eli seems to be suffering from “lonely heart syndrome,” especially since Melinda got back with Jim/Sam. In the past two episodes he’s interacted with a college at the university who is much more like Payne was, into the anthropology of the occult. From words exchanged, it seems they have a past together. I hope she is kept around, she could make things fun!
