Grey’s and Private Practice Weekly Thoughts

Grey’s and Private Practice Weekly Thoughts

So as usual, just doing a thoughts update. One day when I am not overloaded with other work and not on the verge of a mental breakdown, I’ll start doing recaps again on a more regular basis 🙂

Grey’s Anatomy

Honestly, this entire episode, while good, I felt was a big filler episode. Basically a patient died in the ER because everyone was treating her, but nobody was TREATING her. It was choas, trauma victims were all over the place from a fire. Unfortunately a poor woman bounced from doctor to doctor was the casualty, and because The Chief needed a reason to fire someone else, the witch hunt was on. In the end it was the quiet new Mercy West doctor with the diary that made the mistake and got fired. Oh how I wish it was the jerk who was an ass to Izzie or that girl with the pixie haircut who seemed to be throwing Alex under the bus to The Chief. In the end the whole episode was summed up to The Chief by Derek. That woman died because there are too many doctors who don’t trust one another and that has resulted in a chaotic system, a system The Chief made. Slam dunk for Derek!

Private Practice

The big case in this episode was about a homeless teenager with a baby boy who had a heart condition. Addison, Sam and Pete were trying to save the boy, while at the same time mending the girl’s relationship with her mom, who as Addison put it, was “an ass.” Well she was! Slam Dunk for Addison!

Violet, in counseling a pregnant rape victim conflicted on whether to keep the child, inadvertently influence her because of her own trauma, both with a previous rape and what Katie did to her. This was much needed, and it helped explain why Violet can’t look at her son . . . she relives what Katie did to her, not knowing if she was even going to live through it. By the end of the episode Violet took a sledge hammer to the floor in her house where the blood stain would not come out. I felt that scene was the beginning of Violet taking back her life. Next week of course is the big court case with Katie. I can’t wait!

Sadly, Violet’s inability to deal with Lucas lead Pete to leaving the practice and joining Noami’s team. Nooooo! I am sick of this separation, I want it over. I am hoping November Sweeps will resolve it, but I doubt it.

Cooper was faced with money problems this week. Addison wanted everyone to chip in 50K to buy out Naomi’s share of the practice, since they weren’t going to replace her. At the same time, Charlotte had decided to remodel Cooper’s condo/apartment. Cooper broke down, telling Charlotte about the money and why he didn’t have it. Basically pediatricians make less, and he’s a 12 year old that likes porn, shiny cars and electronic gadgets. He’s broke! She thanked him for confiding and kissed him.

You know, just when I thought I was liking Charlotte, she went and paid Cooper’s bill to Addison and demanded to be part of the practice. Grrrr! And with that she undid my liking for her in this episode, as she once again used a situation to her advantage to get what she wanted. This is why I can’t commit to these two as a couple!
