Desperate Housewives Season Finale: Paul Young And A Baby Swap?
An amazing season finale to “Desperate Housewives” I must say. So many questions for next season, such a long wait!
A nurse at a hospital confessed something terrible to a priest. It looks like there was a baby switch (or several) going on . . . . and one of the couples involved lived on Wisteria Lane! Unfortunately we don’t know who the couple or baby is. Grrrr! There were some clues, which I’ll point out as I go through my other thoughts.
Bree signed her company over to Sam to protect Andrew, but lost Orson in the processes. He reminded her that she made him go to jail for what he did to Mike, but did not expect the same from Andrew, who ever offered to confess. He walked out on her at the end. She then realized she had to tell Gabby the truth, which she prepared to do.
As she signed over her company to Sam, she warned him she felt he would live a very unhappy life. He’d probably never have the family he sought, which she offered him, or anyone who truly cared about him. In light of the baby switch, a very telling statement wasn’t it? Could Andrew and Sam have been switched? It might make sense, if someone close to Sam’s mom or Rex had it out for her or Rex in some way?
Gabby helped Angie deal with Patrick. Angie built Patrick his bomb, which he placed in her house where Tyler was held hostage. Patrick truly was twisted, later daring Angie to run and save their son before he detonated the bomb. In the end the joke was on him, as she put the bomb in the detonator, and sent Patrick sky high in his car! Angie and Nick decided to leave, still on the run, but sent Tyler/Danny to New York to have a real life with his grandma and Carlos’ niece Anna. I really wish Angie and Nick could have stuck around. They were a great addition to the show. Anna however can just remain gone. I never liked her at all.
Lynette had to deliver her baby with Crazy Eddie’s help. She convinced him, in the end, to turn himself in. I was worried her was going to run off with her baby.
Mike and Susan had to sell their house and much of their stuff in order to pay off the IRS. At the end as they drove away, someone bought their house. It was Paul Young! Oh lord, what is he doing back? I can’t help but worry he also might be involved or part of the baby switch. Susan always HATED Zack Young, what if Zack and Julie were the babies switched? There has to be a reason Paul is back.
I don’t read spoilers or stories about cast members leaving but I do want to know; are Nick and Angie gone for good do we know?

For now yes. There was an interview with Drea/Angie saying she was leaving after this season, she was only ever supposed to be a one season character.

thought the finale was okay, definitely not great. Lynette’s story worked out way too easily and would you really let a deranged killer hold your newborn baby. Also, why wasn’t she in the hospital afterwards? I think that people still get their 24 hours even if they deliver at home. I noticed that both times they mentioned the baby switch, the went to Gaby or Jaunita. Makes sense to me that it would be someone on the younger side and that the nurse did the switch in her later years and not in her earlier ones.

Didn’t mike turn out to be the father of the child Paul and wife stole(Zack) so if zack and julie was switched that would make julie mikes child
I was thinking it would be gabby’s child or maybe MJ. What if mj was switched with daves child the was killed inthe accident

Yeah Zack is Mike’s real kid 🙂 He ended up killing his grandpa to get all the money.
I forgot to mention they kept zooming in on Gabby’s kids after the mention! Thanks for pointing that out.
I didn’t even think of the possibility of MJ and Crazy Dave’s kid. Yes they gave birth at the same time, that was made VERY clear last year.

I had that same theory… M.J. could have been switched with Dave’s little girl. It was very clear last season that those tw were the same age and born at the SAME hospital…..

I thought Susan & Mike were renting the house, not selling it?
Also–I thought the neighbor that signed the lease with him moved out on his boyfriend b/c of not being able to have a child-why was he the one then to be in the house with Paul signing the lease?
I think the baby switch might be MJ they kept going on throughout the season about how he was so different than MIke & Susan-kind of slow in school, and at home not so smart, etc.
I do wonder why Paul is back though, and read a rumor somewhere else today that Felicia may be coming back as well-which would make sense as she framed Paul for killing her when she wasn’t dead!

I woke up this morning thinking about it, and it seems almost obvious that Crazy Eddie is Lynettes real son. There were many times throughout the episode last night and in the past few episodes where he told her if she was his mom he would have turned out so different. She said something last night about talking to him as his mom didn’t she? And that could explain the trust she felt in him, enough trust to let him hold her newborn baby. A maternal instinct maybe? I think he’s the same age as one of her boys, or was it the twins? If it was the twins, not going to work so well, but if it’s the other who’s name I can’t remember, that would work 100%. Imagine what she would have to deal with next season, coming to terms with the fact that a) her child isn’t her child b) her birth child was/is a serial killer!

I think Eddie was supposed to be the twins age as he was their friend. Also it might be hard without the trademark red/blonde hair.
The one reason I hope they don’t make it MJ or Julie is because it would just be too easy to make it another “Mike and Susan break up again” story. If they do that, I might go postal!

I don’t think it could be Sam and Andrew, because Sam was conceived before Bree and Rex were together, and isn’t Danielle older?

I don’t doubt DH would pull it off, but most people know boy or girl the second the baby is born. So a Julie/Zach switch doesn’t make a pile of sense. I say Sam/Andrew, Bree handed that company over WAY too easy, and how much fun would that drama be? And for the record, props to Orson for leaving, I didn’t blame him one bit. Bree was a total hypocrite when it came to turning in Andrew. And that whole “But he’s my son!”….likely not from what I’m guessing 😉

I can’t remember if Danielle or Andrew is older honestly. They did say something along the lines of when Sam’s mom learned she was pregnant, Rex was already with Bree

As far as Orson and Andrew both hitting people with cars- Didn’t Orson hit Mike on purpose because Mike had seen him with a murder victim (Orson’s mother had killed)? So there was some intent there- he was trying to elimiate a witness to another crime. Andrew on the other hand, hit Mrs. Solis on accident. Now while that is also wrong, I don’t think it’s exactly the same situation.

I was thinking that MJ was the child that was switched because it seemed fitting with the “it could end up with a law suit worth millions” and Mike and Susan need money. I am thinking maybe Mike did a plumbing job for that guy, as to why the hospital exec would know the Delfinos?? Who MJ was switched with, I doubt is Crazy Dave’s kid, because I mean they were 2 different sexes. I think the baby he would have been switched with is Roy’s grandson, the one that got MJ’s t-rex. Susan and Mike did make the comment, “oh God he’s deaf”, so that would add to more drama for them, learning that MJ is not theirs and then learn to cope and communicate with a hearing impaired child.

Lee’s supposed to be a real estate agent so my guess is he was just handling the renting of the house. He doesn’t have to live on the Lane to do that.

I hope it’s not MJ. I seriously can’t deal with another Mike/Susan issue. I think I’ll stop watching. I hope it’s Julie or Danielle with Katherines daughter.

I doubt it would be Andrew and Crazy Sam… we were told that Sam’s mom got pregnant before Bree and the dad were married… i bet it’ll be one of the kids with someone new… probably a child with some mental or physical disabilities and the nurse switched the babies so that someone on Wisteria lane could have a healthy baby for some reason she had

i think its julie and and dylan(the 1st one) because they were both probably the same age plus juiles hair is going red like katherine’s and when dylan was alive her hair was brown like susan’s. and julie and susan are not alike.

It can’t be Zach and Julie that was switched, Not only would Susan and Karl notice the gender change, but Zach’s real mother and father are not the younge’s, it’s Deedra and Mike

I also read somewhere that the new housewife is an old “fremeny” of Lynette’s who’s there to shed some light on Lynette’s situation, now given that all her storylines ended at the end of Season 6, maybe its one of her kids? Parker or Penney it would have to be, obviously as Porter & Preston are twins
