No Ordinary Family: It’s Been Awhile

No Ordinary Family: It’s Been Awhile

Posted by Dustin on 02.18.2011 at 6:47 pm

So I’ve been bad an haven’t blogged about “No Ordinary Family” for awhile. The show started off strong and I really enjoyed it, but over time I got a little bored with it. I still kept up, but I didn’t feel bad about just having it on in the background while I did other work and only half watched. I began to think the show was in trouble when the only storyline I cared about was the Joshua and Katie story, not the Powells!

However I’ve really liked the past two episodes, and if they can keep the story lines like them going, I should regain my interest.

I loved that Daphne’s powers are evolving, from not just reading minds, but influencing thoughts of people. Will the other family members begin to experience a change in their powers?

I also loved the storyline with the shapeshifter and how Stephanie is taking her place to try and get info on Dr. King and his project. The best part was that Joshua tipped them off that this goes way above Dr. King, which means there is a bigger bad guy out there. I love mystery twists!

Next week Lucy Lawless is joining. She’s always good to spice things up!

9021…Over Cousin Emily!

9021…Over Cousin Emily!

Posted by Dustin on 02.16.2011 at 8:18 pm

So I’m still watching “90210,” and am actually enjoying most of it . . . except the Cousin Emily story. As I’ve said before, it’s just been so over done at this point, and done better. Every time she was on in this past week I just wanted to scream and slap people. I really hope they don’t drag this thing out to the point where she predictably sleeps with Liam.

The Guru Sonja story I really liked. I loved not only seeing Naomi get her revenge, but fall for the nerd. Also Sonja saying “Take me to In-And-Out, I need red meat” was hilarious. Why though did Naomi not think to just ask “Show of hands, how many did Sonja tell you that you were the chosen one?” Seems to me that would have gotten the problem solved a lot quicker.

I loved that they are finally giving the Teddy storyline more than two seconds in an episode. I was sad to see the old guy go, but blackmailing him to try and get him to come out of the closet was a low blow. This new sports guy Marco seems like a better fit.

Finally as if Crazy Cousin Emily was bad enough, now Silver has to watch her back because Insane Adrianna is after the woman Navid cheated on her with. This is going to get dirty. I smell a huge cat fight coming at some point.

V: Erica Takes Charge!

V: Erica Takes Charge!

Posted by Dustin on 02.16.2011 at 5:01 pm

So I kept meaning to write about last week’s “V,” but the drama this weekend took precedence:) I figured I’d just cover two shows in one post.

By the end of last week’s episode, with Marcus being shot, and the look Anna shot Erica . . . I was convinced she knew Erica had betrayed her. Apparently not! She thought Eli Cohen was the mastermind, though in a way he was.

The column realized Ryan had betrayed them, and in the latest episode he was tortured by them into talking. He told them about his daughter, but still they couldn’t trust or forgive him. Will Ryan ever get on their good side again? I hate that they are doing this story actually.

They brought back Erica’s ex, and the two were reconciling over the fact that Erica never betrayed Joe, that Tylor was his son, that the V’s switched up his DNA . . . Then they went and killed him. Damn you Visitors! I was just starting to hope for them being together again and then this. I was so furious.

However, I still think that Erica might end up with Jack. Jack was booted from the church in this episode for his actions. I’m still thinking that his bishop or whatever is a V, but then never really went anywhere with that. I think it’s what they were planning, until the latest twist with the V higher up near the Pope himself.

I loved Diana and Lisa’s meeting and am so looking forward to these two working together against Anna. Next week’s previews with Lisa standing up to her mom were awesome.

One thing I was baffled by was how Anna used Hobbs at the end to set off a bomb. Hobbs? Is he playing both sides? I missed an episode, so I think I missed something important. I remember at the end of last season Marcus contacted him and it seemed like Marcus was planning his own schemes without Anna knowing.

Grey’s and Private Practice 2/10: Holy Crap Bizzy!

Grey’s and Private Practice 2/10: Holy Crap Bizzy!

Posted by Dustin on 02.14.2011 at 1:28 pm

So after the great Twitter episode last week, I felt this week’s “Grey’s Anatomy” was just a little bit blah.

The entire story with the Chief trying to talk Meredith into leaving Derek’s study and work on a Diabetes study, because it was something her mother wanted to pursue, was stupid in my opinion. We knew Meredith would never leave Derek’s study as it’s the disease that took her mother from her, and as they’ve hinted, could eventually impact her life.

I absolutely loved Mark, Callie and Arizona all living together and working as a family to look after Callie. Callie’s breakdown over caffeine withdrawal and Arizona being overbearing was hilarious. I loved her whole speech about how while everyone gets a vote in things, she gets an extra special vagina vote because the baby is inside her right now.

Mark meanwhile tried to get info on Lexie via Jackson. She still loves him, I just hope they can work things out. Oh and the scene where she was eating peanut butter cups? I learned from the iPad Sync app for “Grey’s” that the actress hates them, and had to eat 25 for that scene!

“Private Practice” meanwhile was amazing this week. Charlotte’s attacker showing up with a knife in his chest, thanks to his wife, and her holding the power of life and death overtime was pretty amazing. How she was able to forgive him is beyond me, but she did. It does really add to the strength to her character, or in this instance her reclaiming her strength. She was a strong woman before all this. Her attacker’s wife coming forward to say he did rape Charlotte also lead to his arrest and justice . . . . FINALLY!

Bizzy’s partner new wife died in the episode, and Bizzy was furious that Addison didn’t save her. What a hard place for Addison to be in. I have finally been feeling for her character, something I have a hard time doing because as Naomi put it last week, she screws everything up usually. The wife signed a DNR, so Addison had to do her legal duty, even though Bizzy didn’t like it.

Of course the OMG moment came when at the very end, Addison found her mother dead in her hotel, having OD’d on pills on purpose. I did NOT see this coming at all. WOW! I couldn’t believe they went there. Next week looks even more insane as Addison gets caught telling one too many lies trying to keep the family from knowing how Bizzy really died, her last wish.

Hacked :(

So if you visited today, I clearly had some problems. All my blogs got hacked across my server. I have been trying to take precautions to keep it from happening again.

If you run into any errors on the blog, or you get a forbidden or denied error, please email me! I’ll do my best to get it fixed.

Oh and yeah, I did not really pay attention to Sunday night’s TV unfortunately. So I’ll be reviewing “Housewives” and “B&S” again when I can actually pay attention!

Parenthood: Crosby Stepped In It!

Parenthood: Crosby Stepped In It!

Posted by Dustin on 02.11.2011 at 8:52 pm

This past week was probably one of the most powerful, and one of the LOUDEST “Parenthood” episodes ever. Boy was there a lot of screaming.

First let’s talk about poor Crosby and Jasmine. Crosby really stepped in it with the way he unleashed his feelings to Jasmine. NOT smooth at all. However I can’t say he’s wrong. Jasmine has taken over everything, including his wedding. I was pissed when she said he was not at all responsible and didn’t want to make sacrifices and blah blah blah . . . dude gave up his boat for you! Dude stepped up to be a dad when he could have walked away. Crosby however really didn’t word his frustrations well. I felt even worse for him when his own brother Adam basically took Jasmine’s side in things.

John Corbett guest starred as Sarah’s ex Seth, who showed up to play a gig and invited the kids to see. This lead to a lot more shouting, and Zeke worrying that Sarah was still in love with Seth. Ohhhhhh no! She’s had so many better opportunities, I hope she doesn’t go backwards. I loved Amber and Drew fighting over their dad, and Amber acting as the protective big sister.

Finally Adam and Christina caved and let Haddie date Alex, with some major rules of course. Blah! I am not a fan of this storyline at all. I am still waiting for Alex to fall off the wagon. Now that Max idolizes him, I fear he’ll have his relapse with Max around.

Fringe: My New Friday Night Staple

Fringe: My New Friday Night Staple

Posted by Dustin on 02.10.2011 at 11:58 pm

With the death of “Medium,” “Fringe” has now become my Friday night TV show to watch. I am just hoping the move to Friday nights won’t be the death of the show!

The show has definitely become a soap opera as of late, with Peter torn between two Olivias, ReaLivia and FauxLivia. In the latest episode, ReaLivia learned from a mind reader that Peter still has feelings for FauxLivia. Nooooo! But even more serious is that it sees whichever Olivia Peter chooses, that Olivia’s world will be saved (should Peter ever get into this First Peoples Machine that Walternate is assembling). I guess all I have to say is that ReaLivia better start putting out!

I have missed some episodes, so perhaps this was explained somewhere, but why does Nina now seem to have to real hands? She had for so long had a robotic metal arm to replace the arm she lost during a wormhole incident with Bell. I had just noticed with the latest episode, it looks like she has two arms again. Did I miss something, or is this a clue that this is AlterNina?

Next week’s episode goes back to the otherside, so I can’t wait to see how FauxLivia is doing without Peter! Is she yearning for him? Will it screw up her work?
