NBC Spoilers for April: Awake, Grimm and Smash (and a few quick thoughts)

I am still watching “Grimm” and enjoying the show. They are finally back into more of the storyline with the detective and the blond woman/Hexenbeast from the first episode. She’s now going after Nick’s partner Hank! Juliette is getting a lot more airtime as well, realizing Nick is keeping something important from her. She told him in the last episode that she couldn’t marry him right now because he’s pulling away from her.

“Smash” I’m also still enjoying. The last episode with Julia’s marriage falling to pieces was amazing, and heartbreaking. She had it coming though! I hate that Michael Swift seems to have come out unscathed, his marriage still in tact. I also loved that Ivy and Karen started to get along in this episode. The next few episodes have Uma Therman guest staring and in talks to take on the part of Marilyn.

As for “Awake,” well I still watch, but I’m not that in love with it. It seems to move so slow, and I wish we’d get on track with this big secret about why the higher ups tried to kill Michael. It looks like that will finally be explored in next week’s episode from the previews.

Read on for the spoilers!

April 9th – The Understudy
“Understudy” – UMA THURMAN GUEST STARS – The show has landed a star, the mercurial Rebecca Duvall (guest star Uma Thurman), but Eileen (Anjelica Huston) is thrown into a panic when Rebecca gets stuck in Cuba. Derek (Jack Davenport) puts Karen (Katharine McPhee) in as understudy, but she must learn to perform under extreme pressure as he threatens to break her will. Tom and Julia (Christian Borle and Debra Messing) celebrate their anniversary with a ritual – and face some hard truths about what show business can do to relationships. Megan Hilty, Raza Jaffrey and Jaime Cepero also star. Uma Thurman guest stars.

April 16th – The Movie Star
“Bombshell” is turned upside-down by the arrival of movie star Rebecca Duvall (special guest star Uma Thurman). Karen (Katharine McPhee) and Ivy (Megan Hilty) are drawn into an uneasy alliance against their new rival — but can they overcome their history? The romance between Tom (Christian Borle) and Sam (Leslie Odom, Jr.) heats up, while Julia (Debra Messing) and Frank (Brian D’Arcy James) must put aside their differences to address a family crisis. Dev (Raza Jaffrey) faces a big decision. Anjelica Huston and Jack Davenport also star.

April 13th – Love Sick
NICK COMES FACE TO FACE WITH HIS WORST ENEMY — BREE TURNER, CLAIRE COFFEE AND JESSICA TUCK GUEST STAR — Nick (David Giuntoli) and Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) join Hank for dinner, where Nick discovers Hank’s mystery date is none other than Adalind (guest star Claire Coffee), the same Hexenbiest who tried to kill Aunt Marie. Meanwhile, Captain Renard (Sasha Roiz) takes matters into his own hands when a visit from foreign representatives of his royal bloodline threatens his position. Elsewhere, Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee (guest star Bree Turner) are called into action when the lives of Hank and Sgt. Wu (Reggie Lee) hang in the balance.

April 20th – Cat and Mouse
NICK MUST CHOOSE SIDES WHEN HIS DUTY AS A GRIMM CONFLICTS WITH HIS DUTY AS A DETECTIVE — BREE TURNER, SEBASTIAN ROCHE AND NEIL HOPKINS GUEST STAR – While investigating a string of murders, Nick (David Giuntoli) and Hank (Russell Hornsby) learn that their suspect’s crime wave began overseas. When Nick discovers the suspect (guest star Neil Hopkins) is being harbored by none other than Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee (guest star Bree Turner), he realizes he’s hunting the hunted, a freedom fighter trying desperately to escape the clutches of a creature bounty hunter (guest star Sebastian Roche). Bitsie Tulloch, Sasha Roiz and Reggie Lee also star.

April 12th – Ricky’s Tacos

Britten’s interest in a tip linked to a case he was investigating before the accident worries Capt. Harper. Hannah prepares for the move. (There was nothing in the official release for this episode, used TV listings).

April 19th – Nightswimming
I CAN EXPLAIN – While he and Bird (Steve Harris) work to reunite a couple and help them prepare for a new life within the witness protection program, Detective Britten (Jason Isaacs) realizes that he needs to take his own advice and begin preparing for his new life in Oregon with his wife, Hannah (Laura Allen). Meanwhile, anticipating the move to Oregon, Britten tries to introduce Detective Vega to his longtime confidential informant, Jake (Steve Lawrence), but finds that Jake doesn’t like being passed down to another detective. BD Wong and Cherry Jones also star.

  1. I thought this was one of the best Grimms and was surprised that Lt. Wu (based on the previous episode’s ending) was alive. (he was eating more of the cookie after being healed)

  2. I don’t think he was eating more of the cookie, he was eating some strange stuff though. I thought he ate stuffing from his couch and at a different time like a paper clip or something. Like a weird impulse, I imagine too many paper clips and you can’t live for too long.
