Army Wives: Season or Series Finale?

Army Wives: Season or Series Finale?

So last night was the shocking finale of season 6 of “Army Wives.” We still don’t know officially if it will come back for a 7th season, but if it does, it will likely be a very different cast.

Micheal’s secret was of course not as big as the last episode made it out to be. The army is merging with the local air force base, and that was the general from the base who he has been working with for weeks that he was dining with. One of these episodes, assuming the show returns, they are going to have to do something really shocking with one of these cliff-hanger endings to surprise us at this point! They’ve pulled this shocking moment one too many times, and it never plays out to be anything.

Kevin slowly is getting better and regaining the use of his legs, but it looks to be a long road to full recovery.

Over in Afghanistan a commander of a platoon was killed, along with a number of soldiers, and this left a huge problem. Micheal learned that the army had decided to promote Joan to take over the position, which meant Michael was losing her as his Garrison Commander. However it meant advancement for Joan. At the same time, Roland wasn’t too happy. He was worried what one more injury could do to Joan, given her last injury. She had been warned another injury to the head could kill her . . . He felt she had put in her twenty years . . . but Joan wasn’t ready to retire.

Kevin told that Frank because of what happened, the 1st division was also being sent in with him leading. Frank of course was glad to have a shot for redemption, but it was made clear things over there have been getting very dangerous . . .

The sending of the 1st division over hand more ramifications . . . Charlie and Nicole had just began scheduling adoption interviews when Nicole learned she was going back over. This meant that had to delay things by a year, if not longer. Gloria ended up with an idea after Penny showed up saying she couldn’t take care of this kid and wanted Gloria and Hector to take it. She set her up with Nicole and Charlie . . . but Penny flipped out over the fact that they were a gay couple. It went against the bible and her Christian upbringing, and she wanted this child raised with morals and values. Oh no you did not just go there little gurrrrrllll! Thankfully Hector eventually put her in her place and reminded her exactly how this baby got made. He was more polite than I would have been . . . I was going off to my TV about that underage kid in a bar picking up a married man for a one night stand and NOW we are worried about our religious upbringing and morals? It’s a little late sweetheart! Fortunately she came around (far too quickly for the real world, but this is TV) and agreed to let them adopt the child. They also told Penny and Hector they were always welcome to see the baby, they wanted this child to have all the love and support available to it.

Trevor was wondering what his old division going to Afghanistan meant for him, as he has not officially reported to his new post in Washington. Shockingly he told Frank that his preference was to go with his men and lead them . . . but he wasn’t going to tell that to Roxy! I couldn’t even believe this . . . he just had two new kids and he wants to leave them not knowing if he’d come back?!?!?! I was fuming! However in the end Frank put his transfer through, so Trevor, Roxy and all the boys left. Should the show return, my guess Roxy and Trevor won’t be a part of it. The actress who plays Roxy signed a talent deal with NBC after her sixth season contract ended . . . which is why they probably wrote them out.

The wives saw their husbands (and wife in Nicole’s case) off as the show came to a close. Gloria even showed up to see Hector off, and there was a very slight glimmer of hope that there relationship could be rescued. He asked if he could write to her, she said yes, and gave him a kiss on the cheek to see him off.

The final few minutes left us with a shocking cliff hanger. The plane carrying the troops, including Joan, Frank and Nicole seemed to hit stormy weather and turbulence . . . They were alerted to buckle themselves in, and then we heard the plane calling for a place to possibly emergency land due to weather. Then we saw Michael receive a call that shocked him. He sat down and said something like the lines of “Oh my God . . . when did this happen?”

So did the plane go down? Something tells me no, and this is just another fake-out. They can’t bring the show back (if they do) and take out half the cast. Perhaps It’s something to do with the bases merging? Or perhaps it has to do with Claudia Joy? Kim Delaney did not return for this final episode, and it’s possible this could be a way to kill C.J. off once and for all if they need to. Personally I feel that would be a giant mistake should the show return, as we’ve already lost Pamela and Roxy. We need Claudia Joy back!

  1. Claudia Joy will not be returning. She made a fool of herself at a real soldier rally about six-eight months back. She showed up to the rally disoriented, drunk, and mutter lines from Army Wives. My thought is they will take this a whole other direction or cancel it. There is no way they would make a cliffhanger last week and not finish out the show.

  2. That was not Claudia Joy, she helped them save face for Kevin …. it was Kevin’s wife that made a fool of herself, and they got her home….Claudia helped everyone cover for her.

  3. We just watched it and I am so angry! Your right Dustin, I don’t expect that the plane went down. I think maybe it had to make an emergency landing and tore the plane up but noone was hurt. That’s my take. As for Penny and the Gays, it is hard to point fingers when she had pre-marital sex however, it is not the way God intended It to be to have same sex couples. The correct way is one man one woman and that’s it. I don’t know that is a tough subject but I got upset when the show made Christians look bad and gay people look good and wholesome which is an oxymoron. I am called to love them not the act.
