Last night was the mid-season finale for “Grey’s Anatomy.” I didn’t make a post on the previous week’s show, so I’m lumping everything together.

The big news of course is Meredith is pregnant! She’s 8 weeks along, but doesn’t want to tell anyone yet given her past and her hostile uterus. Derek however is optimistic, this is good news and a bit of happiness he was in need of. I’m happy for them, but at the same time this seems like a predictable thing to do. I think the story with Derek’s hand is enough for them right now. Meredith’s intern Brooks ended up learning this week, and Callie seems to know as well since Brooks blurted out in front of Callie that Mer’s doctor called to confirm an ultra sound. This is going to end up being one of those secrets everyone knows about but doesn’t admit they know.

Meredith and Callie have been working behind Derek’s back to get a live nerve donor for Derek, and his best shot is from one of his four sisters. Derek didn’t want to involve them though, he wanted a cadaver donor. By the end of the last episode Liz showed up, played by Neve Campbell. I’ve been waiting for her arrival since it was announced she’d be guest staring for several episodes. Perhaps if she clicks they’ll find a way to bring her on full time? Though the cast is pretty big as is.

Arizona returned to the hospital and has been making a lot of progress with her prosthetic leg. She and Callie’s relationship is on the mend as well. Definitely glad about that, as I would have been pissed if they continued the storyline the way it was going any longer.

Jackson and April faced a pregnancy scare. While April’s world was falling apart, Jackson saw it as an opportunity. He has really fallen for April, and he wanted to get married. However when it turned out that April wasn’t pregnant, she blurted out that was a huge bullet dodged and Jackson was off the hook. It was clear Jackson didn’t want to be off the hook though. Poor Jackson! Now April is working with a new intern Ross, and I’m not sure what is going on between them. He’s definitely learning from her, and she’s helping him, but I feel like a love triangle might be coming?

The doctors all learned the best corporation to sue would be their own hospital for sending them to the conference, not the airline company that was at fault. The hospital was also ready to settle it seems, and Owen realized why. It was his signature that approved the conference travel, and he’s married to one of the plaintiffs. Unfortunately as Owen went to Christina to tell her this, as well as to try and tell her that he wanted her back . . . she told him she wanted a divorce! Actually I got it backwards. Christina wanted Owen back, but Owen suggested a divorce! Ouch! I do hope they get their happily ever after, but it may take them as long as it took Meredith and Derek at this point.

So far we have yet to see or hear about Adele this season. My guess is because the actress is now on Lifetime’s “Client List” show. I miss Adele, even if her storyline is difficult to watch right now.
