Glee: Mercedes is BACK!

Glee: Mercedes is BACK!

As with some other shows, it’s been awhile since I blogged about “Glee.” I have still been watching, and I’m starting to feel that “Love and Feeling” for the show again . . . kinda. The big jump to New York has happened, and we’ve advanced a few months since graduation. Apparently though we aren’t done with McKinley yet. Ryan Murphy has recently revealed we will go back there for the final season for closure, and I believe we may go back one more time this season based on comments Dot Marie Jones (Beastie) made on a recent “Access Hollywood” episode . . . unless she was referring to scenes for the final season. I don’t know. She said back in March when I watched that she was still slated to tape a few more episodes.

I loved Puck and Quinn ending up together, that seemed right. I was glad to see Britney return, but then she stole Santana and now they are on a lesbian-a-go-go vacation for who knows how long! I’d love to see them back for next season.

What I’m loving the most is the return of Mercedes Jones. The loss of her was a huge mistake, and I’m glad it’s been rectified. Love me some Mercedes! I also like that she and Sam are back together, and that Sam has a decent haircut for once.

I was not a fan of Artie the film school playa storyline. I thought it was totally out of character and made light of a serious issue, safe sex. Yeah it was funny I admit, but the STD costume joke got old fast and it didn’t really work turning Artie into a pimp.

I find myself completely over Kurt and Blaine. At least one of these high school romances has to come to an end, and I think it will be theirs. I’m actually okay with that. They were pretty much all they had in Lima, Ohio, and now that they are in the big city they are seeing there are other options available. Can we bring back the cute English guy Kurt was dating? Or hook him up with Starchild?

Finally, I am hating Rachel being her diva-like usual self. I thought she would have outgrown this, but nope. Now she’s dropped out of Nyada, which will be a huge mistake. It was pretty much the writing on the wall that her show, and career, are doomed. The original ending of the show, per Ryan Murphy’s many statement on this, was to have Finn take over the glee club and Rachel return a big star, but choose Finn and Lima over fame. I now have a feeling it will be Rachel returning home and resurrecting the glee club at McKinley will newly appointed Principle Will Shuester’s blessing.
