So I did not get to see last week’s “V.” It didn’t Tivo, and it’s difficult to find online. I did find it, but just ran out of time and never watched it and forged ahead with this week’s show. Fortunately I think I get the gist of what happened.
So Anna thinks that the key to controlling human emotions (and thereby breeding with them?) is extracting the human soul? That’s what the machine Chad witnessed was doing. My guess is it’s the human soul that makes breeding possible. I don’t like that Joshua is now bad at all. I hope he gets hit on the head soon and remembers he was fifth column.
Lisa’s body began to change, she began to develop her breeding skin. Diana warned Anna that Lisa would soon betray her, much as Anna betrayed Diana. One thing I didn’t get, in reading last week’s recap, it was revealed that Anna was infertile? But she had Lisa, and she laid eggs before? Did she suddenly become infertile because Lisa was getting her breeding skin? Confused . . . .
Erica learned Tyler was missing vital portions of his DNA, and the scientist guy that has joined fifth column suspects it’s so the Vs can put something into it. The show ended with Tyler going to Anna for help dealing with his mother (Anna said he was like a son to her) and Lisa going to Erica for help dealing with her mother. Hmmmmmm, ever notice how Lisa looks like Erica . . . and Tyler like Anna? Was there some serious genetic engineering/baby swapping going on?
The show ended with Ryan about to sell out the Fifth Column to Anna in order to get his daughter back. I have to believe he’s gunna give her fake names, or names of the rogue members. He knows Anna won’t just hand his daughter over to him, that kid is too important. I expect when V returns in 2 weeks she’ll also be 5 years old since she’s aging so fast (much like the kid in the first series).

V Season 2: Vs Are Of Peace, Always!
Posted by Dustin on 01.05.2011 at 8:37 pm
“V’s” second season premiered last night. I missed the marathon the night before, so it took me awhile to remember what had happened in the last season finale.
Ryan managed to escape the ship and Anna’s bliss, but not without his hybrid daughter. Anna was keeping her for study. Val it seems is in fact very dead, but I hope somehow she’s really not and will be back later on in the season. I’d think she’d be too valuable to let die.
Chad contacted Father Jack to try and join the 5th Column and prove he was no longer Anna’s whipping boy. He revealed to Father Jack that the live-aboards are being tested on at night. To prove himself to Jack and his friends, Chad says he’s going to air the story. Why do I see Chad suddenly going missing? Personally I think he’s the weakest character on this show, so I wouldn’t mind if he was kidnapped for awhile . . .
Erica began to learn why Anna was so interested in Tyler. After meeting a scientist who had discovered visitor skeletons at a site that was fifty years old, and running tests on human skeletons also found there, it appears that the V’s had not only been on earth for awhile, but were experimenting on humans . . . for the purpose of breeding. I do believe I suggested this last season, and it seems I was right. The V’s aren’t here for food as in the original, but perhaps to breed with humans. Because their species is dying? We don’t know why that want to breed with us yet.
Humanity was on alert after Anna, upset over the destruction of her hatchery, released Red Sky. Of course she quickly claimed it was yet another gift, meant to restore earth’s ozone layer and environments. She said it would dissipate in days, but reverse a hundred years of damage.
There were several interesting revelations. First, Anna has a tail! We also finally got a glimpse of what the V’s looks like when Anna ripped half a human skin off one. Erica realized that the V’s had experimented on her when she was pregnant with Tyler, which is why he is so special to Anna. Anna’s daughter (whose name I can’t recall right now!) found Joshua, who has no memory of what had happened to him . . . and possibly that he is part of the 5th column? Uh oh! Of course the best part was when Anna went to see her mother Diana, who is imprisoned somewhere within a ship. For a prisoner, she sure had a nice dress and high heels on when she appeared!
Things not yet revealed, what is going on with Hobbs. The way the season ended last year, his devotion to the 5th Column seemed uncertain. Also Anna’s right hand man, what is he up to. He is the one who saved Joshua, so obviously he has plans. I’m thinking that he might be interested in Diana.

The show was supposed to be back in November, but has been bumped to January. Instead ABC will air “Skating With The Stars,” which is basically DWTS but on ice skates.
SEASON TWO OF “V” WILL PREMIERE JANUARY 4, 2011, ON ABC
“V,” the thrilling drama series about the world’s first alien encounter that captivated viewers last season, will make its highly-anticipated season premiere on TUESDAY, JANUARY 4 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on ABC.
Simultaneously appearing over every major city in the world, the Visitors (or V’s) arrived offering us the wonders of their technology and promoting peace. While the world quickly embraced the V’s as saviors, an FBI Counter Terrorist Agent, and others making up the resistance group called The Fifth Column, quickly discovered that the Visitors are not who they said they were. Will humanity stop being fooled and realize the Visitors true intentions before it becomes too late and they take over Earth?
“V,” which received an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Special Visual Effects For A Series, stood as television’s No. 1 new drama during the 09-10 TV season in the key Adult 18-49 sales demographic, delivering substantial year-to-year improvement in both of its Tuesday time periods (8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.). “V” finished No. 1 in both time periods among key Men (M18-34/M18-49).
Season Two will feature more character and lizard reveals, more details about the V’s mythology, while along the way featuring even more action and more plot twists. Viewers can expect a roller coaster ride week to week.
“V” stars Elizabeth Mitchell as Erica Evans, Morris Chestnut as Ryan Nichols, Joel Gretsch as Father Jack, Charles Mesure as Kyle Hobbes, Logan Huffman as Tyler Evans, Laura Vandervoort as Lisa, with Morena Baccarin as Anna and Scott Wolf as Chad Decker. Jane Badler Returns To V!
Posted by Dustin on 09.23.2010 at 10:15 pm
When “V” returns for a second season in November, Jane Badler will return to the role that made her an icon . . . . Diana! This time though it’s a bit of a different character than the badie she played years back.
Badler told TV Guide that she’ll be the real Queen of the Visitors, Anna’s mother who has been locked away for 15 years!
V Season Finale: Best V Ever!
Posted by Dustin on 05.18.2010 at 11:27 pm
Without a doubt the best “V” of the season, and let me tell you I would have been all kinds of pissed if there wasn’t a second season after that!
I feel I should offer a quick recap before getting to my thoughts, so here goes . . . . This is a bullet point summary cause it’s so late!
– Erica and Tyler met with Anna and Lisa for a dinner on the mothership. Anna thinks Erica is an ally, not realizing she was there to destroy her soldier eggs.
– Joshua told Lisa she had to chose a side, it seemed she originally chose Anna. Joshua gave her a bomb to give to Erica to kill the eggs, should she change her mind.
– Jack tried to figure out which side Chad was by giving him a fake note, and he failed, which got Joshua caught by Anna’s men.
– Joshua told Chad he’d been played by Anna all along, and guided him to the room where Anna torture the humans so he could see for himself.
– Lisa made her choice, freed Joshua, and they worked to help create the distraction needed for Erica to kill Anna’s eggs. Joshua bowed to Lisa, calling her his queen!
– Erica was forced to kill Joshua to keep her cover, he told her it was the only way. Joshua then looked like the bomber.
– Erica and Chad were both lied to by Anna, who claimed a human snuck on board and orchestrated the attack.
– Meanwhile . . . Val was taken aboard, her baby delivered, then she was killed by Anna! Ryan was brought onboard and it seems Anna has blissed him back, at the end handing him his lizard hybrid baby
– Marcus met with Hobbes, and basically to Hobbes he had been his employer all along for all these years. He wanted Hobbes to name Fifth Column . . . .
– Anna learned of her eggs distruction, as Marcus informed her it was Joshua’s doing. She believes someone helped him and broke down . . . . She asked “What is happening to me?” Marcus said “You are experiencing your first human emotion!”
– Anna set out for revenging, releasing some kind of gas that painted the skies red.
– Jack betrayed his church’s head priest/bishop, preaching to his flock that they had to choose who to worship, God or the Vs. Most left. In the end Hobbes, Erica, CHAD! and a few others remained as Jack referenced the original show . . . “V stands for Victory!”
– The final moments had Marcus reviving Joshua on the ship saying “Welcome back!”
My Thoughts . . . .
Damnnnnn! Seriously! Best episode ever. What a fricken roller coaster ride!
I don’t know what to think of Marcus honestly. It seemed he was a traitor, then he wasn’t, then he was. Is he Fifth Column? I don’t think so. He wanted Hobbes to name a name, and I think Hobbes did, which led him to Joshua. I think Marcus is a third fraction, or has his own designs on Anna’s thrown.
LOVED when Joshua bowed to Lisa as his queen. Great scene! I was pissed when Joshua was killed, and NEVER expected him to survive. At the very end is when I realized what Marcus was doing!
I did not like Ryan being blissed back into Anna’s servitude and again hopes he’s not been pulled back in. That would suck! I am also pissed we didn’t get to see the lizard kid! WTF !?!?!?!
Chad finally came to his senses, though it took seeing his own kind being tortured. I’m sad we didn’t get the big “on air” V reveal like we did in the original. Something to look forward to next season? Chad ripping Anna’s face off live on TV? Yes, that will rock!
I loved them ending on Jack giving a sermon about God and the Vs, taking back V for Victory rather than Visitors. It was an updated play on the original, but in a different context. For those who never saw the original, in the original it was a holocaust survivor who spurned the “V for Victory” movement among the humans, saying she’d been in this position before. It was a throwback to the Nazi’s, as well as relavant for the 80s when Communism and nuclear war was on everyone’s minds.
I’m not sure what the red skies were about honestly. Again, the original was so drenched with red scare and communism metaphors. Are they playing on that, or is this a toxic gas that might allow for an invasion? Time will tell!
If you’ve enjoyed “V,” then do rent the original two miniseries over the summer. Hey, you got a while till “V” comes back! (The failed 1 season NBC show is debatable, many loath it, some love it).
