True Blood: Here Lies Teri and Blah Blah Blah

True Blood: Here Lies Teri and Blah Blah Blah

Posted by Dustin on 08.12.2013 at 10:53 am

So I didn’t do a write-up of last week’s “True Blood,” and was planning to do one this week as the promo for it looked far more exciting than last week’s episode. Boy was I wrong! Don’t get me wrong, the parts at the prison were great. However most of the episode was remembering Teri at his funeral, or should I say remembering him before the whole Efreet nonsense which ruined his storyline and character. He’s dead, but will he stay that way? On this show, one can never know. We did see the return of Tara’s mom and the good reverend she married.

Eric stormed the jail, killed the humans and freed the vampires. However it was Bilith who saved all their friends in the room where they would meet the sun. Crazy Sarah Newlin, who hid under dead humans to save herself, was the one who ran to open the roof and fry them all. Sadly only one Newlin died, and it wasn’t Sarah. Eric refused to let Steve feast on Bilith to save himself. As he met the sun, looking up at his crazy ex Sarah, he screamed “I loved you . . . . Jason Stackhouse!” It was pretty funny. He burst into flames, and Jason then went after Sarah. Instead of blowing her brains out . . . he let her go! Stupid mistake. So we’ll see her again for sure.

Bilith ended up drained and three bloody women (three Liliths?) told him it was time for him to end his life on earth and come with them. He apparently did what he had to do, which was save Vampirekind. He did not want to go yet, and Jessica and her new boyfriend saved him by letting them drink some of his blood back from them. They are all daywalkers now . . . but we don’t know how long that will last yet. Is it permanent? The vamps destroyed all the tainted tru blood, and at the end Pam watched as a still heartbroken Eric zoomed off into the sky, apparently leaving her. So Eric has been written out? There have been rumors of his death this season . . . but it appears he’s just up and left.

Next week is the end of the season, and it looks like the Reverend takes up the fight against the sinful daywalking vampires and rallies humans to attack them.

Big Brother Double Elimination Night Is Here!

Big Brother Double Elimination Night Is Here!

Posted by Dustin on 08.08.2013 at 10:01 pm

Tonight is the double eviction night, but also the beginning of the jury house.

As we approached the live vote, we saw the house flip flopping on the votes. GinaMarie wanted Candice out, others saw getting Spencer out more important, then Jessie convinced Jude that getting Amanda out might be a good play because she has too much power. Candice also planted the ideas to Helen, with Jessie by her side, that Amanda is who they should get out. Helen claimed she didn’t have the power everyone thought she did. Helen also said Amanda had never wronged her. In reality Helen was afraid with Amanda gone, she’d be the next biggest target . . .

We then went to the houseguests. Julie told them that the jury will be made up of 9 people this summer, bigger than any other jury. This means the person evicted tonight will be the first jury member. She then told them that tonight is a double eviction night! Julie also gave the teaser just because you were on the jury, it doesn’t mean your out of the game . . . Sounds like another “vote back in” deal.

During the speaches, Candice and GinaMarie got nasty and into it with each other, to the point that Julie had to break them up and tell them to settle down!

The vote was held . . .

Everyone voted to evict Candice! Even on the way out, GinaMarie was just nasty to her! Julie talked with Candice about the racial issues in the game as well.

A trivia HOH game was played, where they had to answer questions about events that have happened this summer. In the end Aaryn won HOH!

Before the nominations, Julie revealed the MVP twist is over and only two people would be nominated each week. Aaryn ended up nominating Jessie and Spencer.

The veto comp was held where they had to find objects to finish a puzzle. Aaryn won the veto, which meant the noms would likely not change. However Helen got in her ear and told her to trust her . . . . They bleeped a lot out so we couldn’t hear.

At the veto meeting Aaryn took Jessie off . . . and put Judd up as she knows he’s playing her and everyone has told her this is who they want up, the house has forced her to do this, if she didn’t then they’d send her home next . . .

So basically everyone voted Judd out. Helen and the house told Aaryn she did the right thing. They said he was a schemer and they couldn’t trust him. The next HOH comp would be played later . . . I’ll update when I know more.

More info after the jump about HOH, Noms, Etc . . .

ABC Fams Tuesday Line-Up Thoughts + SPOILERS

ABC Fams Tuesday Line-Up Thoughts + SPOILERS

Posted by Dustin on 08.07.2013 at 8:55 pm

So we are getting pretty close to the summer finales of both “Twisted” and “Pretty Little Liars”

“Pretty Little Liars” has been fairly slow as of late, but this episode got a bit exciting with the return of Jenna, who seems to be losing her eyesight? I guess the operation failed to work for her. Before we get there, Mona confessed to Wilden’s murder and of course Spencer’s mom took her case . . . she must be the only lawyer in town. This lead Hannah’s mom to get out on bail, paid by the church pastor, but she was confined to her house with an ankle bracelet. Probably not good, A is guaranteed to come after her now that she’s trapped in her house. Spencer’s mom meanwhile realized Mona’s account of what happened with Wilden’s shooting doesn’t match up with the facts, so it doesn’t look like Mona did it either . . .

Paige and Emily broke up, but not before Paige threw her an insane party which Shauna and Jenna showed up at together (what what what?). Jenna ended up being pushed into the water and almost died . . . almost. Emily saved her, and Spencer asked Shauna who they are afraid of, Alison? Shauna said Alison was dead, and it’s CeCe they are afraid of. So is CeCe the blonde who is in the Red Coat? I don’t think so, I think it’s the figure from the later books. I won’t spoil it, though my guess is most people have gotten impatient and turned to google and know exactly who it is. I think Shauna finally did put to rest any speculation about Alison still being alive . . . but HOW is she so sure Alison is dead?

By the end of the episode Red Coat was trespassing into a house and leaving something on a piano for Toby. I’m assuming it’s Toby and Jenna’s old house?

There was a bunch of Aria and her new guy, who seem to be dating now; and Ezra suing for custody of his kid . . . I’m really over that whole love story/triangle/whatever you wanna call it.

What ever happened with Alison’s mom moving back home? We never see her anymore. Nor have we seen anything about that mystery woman in black who was at Wilden’s funeral.

Over on “Twisted” everyone’s secrets finally came out. Karen had confessed to killing Regina, but everyone knew she didn’t do it and only did it to save Danny. We finally found out that Danny was given Regina’s necklace after her murder, someone planted it in his locker so he looked like the killer. When he confessed to Jo and Lacey, they were furious he lied to them and Lacey didn’t trust him at all. Jo pretty much figured it out about Lacey and Danny, and Lacey found out her dad likes dudes. Jo’s dad finally did some police work and learned the necklace looks a lot like some bizarre logo on the Desai house . . . once again everything seems to point to Danny’s supposedly dead dad, who probably isn’t dead at all. By the end of the episode Jo’s friend Rico got a video sent to him from someone who taped Danny and Lacey making out in her room . . . That kid is bad news!

Read on for spoilers for the next few episodes of both shows . . .

The Fosters Summer Finale Thoughts . . .

The Fosters Summer Finale Thoughts . . .

Posted by Dustin on 08.05.2013 at 11:32 pm

First, I’m pleased as punch this show is coming back in January. Take that “One Million Moms” who tried to get it taken off the air! So now for my thoughts . . .

I loved that Callie stood up for what was right and told the truth at the hearing against Liam, even if she lost. Hopefully now that family will never get to be fosters again, and the look of guilt was written all over Liam’s face as Callie spoke during the hearing. Karma is a bitch, and it’s clear he’s a pedophile and it will only be a matter of time before something worse happens involving him.

I don’t like that Brandon and Callie kissed, but I think Jude was really harsh on his sister. The way he spoke to her made it sound like she caused the problems at the other home with Liam, and that was not cool. Now she’s planning to run away to give Liam a chance at being adopted by Lena and Steph. Obviously we have the set-up for next season, the search for Callie.

I do like that Mike stepped up when Steph confronted him over the shooting and mistake he made in his account of it, though obviously pointing out it was the adrenaline of the situation which had him hyped and he didn’t do it on purpose . . . he clearly didn’t remember everything from that night himself. Rather than let both him and Steph lose their jobs, he told her to keep her mouth shut and say she didn’t see anything and let the chips fall where they fall with him and the review . . . one of them needs to take care of the family.

I hope we’ve now seen the last of Anna, but who knows!

It looks like we may have seen the last of Lexi though, with her parents planning a visit to Mexico and not planning to return given their illegal status in the country. Honestly, good. Both Jesus and Lexi need a serious smack upside the head for being as careless as they were.

Drop Dead Devious Maids Sunday: Keeping Secrets and Jane’s SOL!

Drop Dead Devious Maids Sunday: Keeping Secrets and Jane’s SOL!

Posted by Dustin on 08.05.2013 at 8:03 pm

So on “Drop Dead Diva” Jane is now without any man it seems. WTF !?!?!? Stacey asked Owen to be her donor, but he said no. Jane was upset, as Stacey didn’t even think that if she and Owen got back together it would be awkward. Jane however thought about it and talked to Owen. She felt he said no because there could be a chance for them, but if there is no chance then he should say yes to Stacey as she knows it’s something Owen would otherwise probably do. Meanwhile Kim gave Grayson some advice about mixing relationships and work . . . if this thing with Nicole is just a fling then end it before it ends badly. Grayson did end the “fling” aspect and asked her out on a real date. Finally Stacey returned to Jane by the end of the show with the news that Owen changed his mind and said yes! Poor Jane, now she’s lost BOTH guys!

Over on “Devious Maids,” Rosie learned who Marisol really was, she’s Marisol Suarez, a Professor of English, author and award winner all around. Rosie was furious with her and wanted to expose her, but by the end of the show came to understand why she was doing what she was doing as she to would do anything for her son. Rosie promised to keep her secret and asked how she could help? Rosie then went to the crazy Powels to apply to be their new part-time maid!

I totally loved the nod to “Ugly Betty” with her last name. But again, after this season’s mystery, what will happen? Marisol clearly is not going to stay a maid. I’m assuming she will end up employing one of them though. I’m guessing it will be Rosie, and she’ll help her get her son over to America.

Falling Skies Summer Finale Thoughts

Falling Skies Summer Finale Thoughts

Posted by Dustin on 08.05.2013 at 7:53 pm

So “Falling Skies” is over until the 4th season airs next summer. We ended up much where we began, with the 2nd Mass back on the road . . .

The human’s, with the aid of the Volm weapon, managed to take down the Eshveti tower in Boston and deal a major blow to them. Then in came the mother Volm ship, with Cochise’s father onboard as their supreme leader. He basically felt the humans were not needed now that they were here, and wanted to relocate them to Brazil. When Tom said no, he was taken down by Volm guards and told this wasn’t a discussion, they would be relocated.

Tom, Weaver, Pope and the others weren’t going to be shipped off to some prison camp, and Pope gloated and loved saying “told you so” about the Volm. They all snuck out of Boston and found themselves refugees once more.

Tom and the others met with Karen and some Eshveti on the road. She told him the Volm weren’t who they claimed to be, and more nasty truths would come out soon, and they may want to strike a deal. She had something for him, and he had something for her. He shot her, and as she lay dying and tried to apologize to Hal, Maggie shot her two more times to finish her off.

Tom soon discovered Anne and Lexie in the nearby woods, but Lexie was now a toddler. Would she keep aging at this rate? Nobody had the answer. She definitely has powers though. She was able to call out the bugs in Lordes, they poured out of her eyes into Lexie’s hands and then Lexie turned them to dust and smiled.

… So Lexie is totally creepy, and we still have no answers how and why she ended up this way. I am guessing it was the Eshveti, why else would they want her? They must have altered Tom’s DNA when they had him.

Karen’s warning about the Volm were intriguing. What if the story Cochise was actually backwards? What if the Volm chased the Eshveti away, destroyed their home planet, etc . . .

I feel like Karen was going to say something important when Maggie put a bullet in her. Hmmmm . . .

Big Brother 15: Evicted The 1st of August and the New HOH!

Big Brother 15: Evicted The 1st of August and the New HOH!

Posted by Dustin on 08.01.2013 at 10:03 pm

So I seem to have a major problem remembering that “Big Brother” airs at 8pm on Wednesday, not 9pm . . . thus I missed last night’s episode. However I got filled in pretty quickly with the internet updates, and all the shifts in alliances.

Howard, Candice and Amanda are all on the block. Howard was suspected of being the MVP who put up Amanda, when it was really America. Spencer, winning POV, took himself down and Aaryn put up Candice up in his place. She went up when Helen told everyone that she was coming for them all if they didn’t make sure she was safe this week. Helen is still in control of the house it seems.

Howard tried to keep himself safe by making deals with the other houseguests, while Candice threw a pitty party. Spencer meanwhile told Amanda he has her back and he hopes she has his, she knows who he wants out and that’s Candice.

Andy told Amanda that he and Judd made a fake deal with Howard and Spencer to try and flip the house and oust her, but not to worry as she is safe. Amanda didn’t feel safe at all.

Amanda confronted Spencer about the plan to get her out, which he claimed was bogus. Amanda told him if he would stop this plan and get Candice out, then she could help him and he wouldn’t be a target next week. Spencer then went off on her, saying he knows she got him on the block and if she thinks he’ll kiss her ass then she is stupid. Spencer said she knew he wanted Candice out, so leave it there and just get to Thursday.

Helen talked to Candice and said he heard Spencer and Amanda arguing about who was going out this week, and Helen told her that she was not supposed to be the target, Amanda was. However Spencer is telling Amanda that he will vote out Candice . . . Candice got angry, which is exactly what Helen wanted . . . she wanted Spencer to look bad.

Candice called a house meeting and confronted Spencer about all his lies. She says everyone is telling her that Spencer is moving to keep Howard and oust her, while he keeps saying to her that Amanda is his target. Spencer told Candice that she was trying to make him look bad. In DR Spencer realized maybe Candice should go after her melt down, and that Amanda was his real target initially. Candice tells Spencer to stop talking about her, and he was going home next week if she has anything to do with it.

Aaryn talked with Jessie and GinaMarie about things. After Candice’s blowup, they all talked about how dangerous Candice really is, she is a liar and a threat. Aaryn really wanted her gone, this is her HOH and she wants Candice out.

Julie went to the living room and talked to the houseguests. She gave them some updates on real world events involving celebrities. Former contestant Brittany had a daughter, and Kanye West and Kim Kardashian had a baby named North. She also told them about the royal baby.

We then got to see Judd’s family and the small town he’s from and where they are all routing for him. Ironically Aaryn and the others inside the house think he’s lying about where he’s from, that he’s really a genius and an amazing liar, probably from a huge town.

The live vote was then held . . .

Helen, Elissa, McCrae, Judd, Andy, GinaMarie and Jessie voted to evict Howard.
Spencer voted to evict Candice.

Julie gave Howard the news that he had been evicted by a vote of 7 to 1. Howard said his goodbyes to people, not choosing to storm out like last week’s loser.

Julie talked to Howard about his game. She talked to him about the racial issues in the house and how he was able to hold his tongue. He said it was hard, and unlike the real world he didn’t have the option to walk away. He also said he has a bad temper and kept it in check. After watching his goodbye speeches, he learned America was the MVP this week. We are also MVP again, getting to choose the third nominee next week.

The new HOH game started, and it’s an endurance challenge. They are all stuck standing on a giant log which rolls and they have to keep their balance on it. They do have a rope they can hold onto to help with balance only. Of course it wouldn’t be “Big Brother” if they didn’t throw water and stuff at them. This time it looks like the log speeds up and slows down randomly. In order to inspire them to compete hard, Julie told them there would be no “Have Nots” this week. Then she offered a reason to give up . . . the first three to fall would get to open one of three boxes and in one is 5000 dollars. So far nobody jumped off to take the deal.

Next week is the big “Double Eviction Week!” I’ll update with the HOH when it’s known.

*UPDATE* Spoilers under the jump . . .

Confession Tuesday: Little Liars and Twisted Twists!

Confession Tuesday: Little Liars and Twisted Twists!

Posted by Dustin on 07.31.2013 at 11:15 am

So on both “Twisted” and “Pretty Little Liars,” the main twists at the end were two confessions to murders by people we are probably safe to assume didn’t actually commit them . . .

On “Liars” Hannah decided the only way to free her mom was for her to confess to the murder of Wilden. She asked Mona to train her to lie to the cops. Much of the episode was spent with Mona instructing Hannah how to do so . . or was it the other way around? At the very end Mona shocked all by confessing to the murder! Why? Is she nuts again? Does she have a plan? Or has she double-crossed the girls again and is still following A’s orders?

Spencer meanwhile learned Wilden made up a bogus report about Toby’s mom’s death/suicide . . . meaning someone could have wanted Wilden killed to keep his mouth shut. Spencer’s mom, when confronted about all this, seemed to really want Spencer to drop it and just help Toby move on. Yeah she knows something!

Over to “Twisted,” Lacey and Danny have a hidden secret relationship that Lacey wants to keep from Jo. Jo still has a crush on Danny and wants to come clean, but also seemingly liked this new guy Tyler. Poor Rico still likes Jo though! Danny meanwhile confronted his mother with the idea that his dad was a cheater, and may have been cheating with Regina. His mom was horrified at that idea . . .

Jo’s new friend Tyler got twisted himself in this episode. He’s filming a documentary and seemed to keep setting Danny and his mom up with gross jokes to film. Their yard was basically tee-peed with red jump ropes, and at a party all these guys wore Danny masks as one pretended to strangle someone with a red jump rope, while Tyler filmed of course.

By the end of the show Danny’s mom, who was told about the necklace they recovered from the lake and her being seen throwing something into the lake, ended up confessing to killing Regina. Did she do it? Doubtful! I think she’s trying to protect Danny. I think this goes back to Tara’s murder somehow . . . she felt she didn’t protect him then perhaps?

“Twisted” has been picked up for more episodes, slated to return in January with “The Fosters” after both have their upcoming summer finales. “Pretty Little Liars” will have another Halloween episode (which will launch the “Ravenwood” spinoff) and also return in the winter after its summer finale.

Under The Dome: The Stars Are Falling!

Under The Dome: The Stars Are Falling!

Posted by Dustin on 07.30.2013 at 1:19 pm

So I have been watching “Under The Dome” from the start of the season. We are now just a little over halfway through it. The series is based on the Steven King novel of the same name, though has departed from the story in a few ways according to readers.

I have not read the initial novel, so I’ve really been enjoying the show. I had not planned on adding it to the blog, as I was under the assumption that this was only a summer miniseries . . . . Things however have changed! It appears the creators, with King’s blessing, had always hoped to make this a multi-year series, with some major changes to the book’s end. The show has been a raitings hit for CBS, one of their best rated summer series in years, so it’s officially been renewed for a second summer season in 2014.

The show, it seems, will move far past the book’s plot in which the town of Chester’s Mill is mysteriously trapped under an invisible dome for a short period of time. The show plans to keep the town trapped for years . . . Hence the renewal and a major change to the story by the end of the season.

Given this, I feel it will be safe to start reading the novel. I initially did not because I was enjoying the show and didn’t want to ruin the ending.

Are you watching “Under the Dome?” Did you read the novel? Your thoughts?

Devious Diva Sunday: Sparks and DVDs + SPOILERS!

Devious Diva Sunday: Sparks and DVDs + SPOILERS!

Posted by Dustin on 07.29.2013 at 4:50 pm

On “Drop Dead Diva,” Vanessa, who left Grayson at the alter a few seasons back, returned taking up a case against Kim and her client. This of course gave Vanessa and Grayson a chance to clear the air. Vanessa apologized, but at the same time was shocked to learn Grayson was single, especially after what happened with Jane and Owen. She hinted that she always expected him to end up with Jane . . .

Stacy kept searching for Mr. Right Sperm donor, but nobody matched her criteria list. She also kept pushing Jane to “touch” Owen somewhere to see if anything happens. Jane tried, but failed. She accidentally touched Grayson, which caused a static electricity shock. Yup, a spark between them. Jane’s case this week dealt with a man being catfished, and the photo used to catfish him was one Grayson took of Deb. There was a moment where Jane messed up in what she said to him about the photo, but quickly corrected herself. I have a feeling that by the end of the season Grayson will once again think Jane is Deb, and maybe he’ll remember when she almost confessed to him. I can’t remember if she did or not? He got hit by the car on the way to meet her, and he suffered memory loss . . .

Stacy meanwhile realized Owen was “the one” and Paul and Kim grew closer. I have a feeling they may start up a relationship before long.

Over to “Devious Maids,” we learned that Adrian not only sets his friends up with hookers, he watches and tapes them from a secret room. Marisol’s son remembered Flora on the phone mentioning “he will pay because of the DVD . . . ”

Adrian began to suspect Marisol was up to something, as she asks too many questions. He wanted to fire her, but Evelyn liked her. However that wouldn’t last long. Later a furious Michael showed up demanding Adrian hand over the DVDs of his wife Taylor. Taylor and Marisol were with him, trying to stop him when he began beating Adrian. Guess we know how Michael met his second wife! Evelyn took Marisol to the secret room where walls were filled with labeled DVDs. Evenlyn grabbed all the ones marked Taylor, while Marisol eyed the ones marked Flora. Evelyn handed them all over, said Marisol can verify there are none left of Taylor. She then kicked them all out, said she was glad as this means they can stop pretending to be friends, and then she fired Marisol! One step forward, two steps back . . . Marisol knows of the room and the DVDs, she just can’t get to them! Later Michael called Adrian to discuss what he really came over for and why he put on that show . . . He wants the DVD of him and Flora! Adrian claims he destroyed that long ago, but he really didn’t. Yup, Michael clearly cheated with Flora, and may be the man she was blackmailing . . .

Rosie and Spence began making love whenever Peri was out of the house. However during one session, Spence had a heart attack! He survived, and Peri felt a lot of guilt. It made her realize she does love her husband, she has become a major witch, and she wanted to work to be a better person and rekindle her relationship with Spence. Oh boy!

Sam began dating another woman, which made Carmen jealous. She sabotaged their relationship and finally admitted to Sam that she did like him . . . a lot.

Finally Genevieve learned her business manager disappeared after wiping out all her accounts, as well as Remi’s trust fund. Genevieve was forced to go back and beg her ex-husband for help and money. Now that they are poor, my guess is Remi’s friends will start to drop him like hot rocks and he’ll realize how poorly he had treated Valentina . . . This storyline was definitely the funniest of the episode, and Susan Lucci finally got a chance to shine.

Read on for spoilers for August for both shows!
