Army Wives: G.I. Joan!

Army Wives: G.I. Joan!

Posted by Dustin on 07.28.2009 at 9:05 pm

As usual, a quick recap, then some thoughts. Again it has been a few days since the show, so I’m trying to remember what happened as best as possible.

Pamela continued teaching her class on base helping new army wives cope with the transition. One of her students was having issues making ends meet, since her husband like to spend. Pamela suggest she get a job, but the woman had little time with two small kids. Pamela suggested she do something from home, there are tons of business on the internet that let you work from home.

The woman later came to Pamela for help. She set up a business, but her house was too small to have a party to sell her goods at. She wanted to use the classroom, but Pamela said as it was base property, it wasn’t possible. Pamela offered her house for her first party. Roland and Roxy attended, they all thought the woman was going to sell Tupperware. Nope, she was selling sex toys! Roland won the door prize, which he wouldn’t open or show anyone. At the end he did show Joan. He took off his robe and simply stated that he was “wearing” the prize.

Frank and Denise continued to date, but Frank didn’t seem ready to take the next step, nor to have Denise move back in. He said he didn’t want to rush it, he couldn’t bear if things didn’t work out a second time. Roland told Denise it would take time, and he guessed Frank was still having issues with the affair. He said for men they often picture it in their heads over and over, it’s tough. Denise worried what if Frank could never get passed what she did?

Haneen’s surgery went well, but Denise told Claudia Joy she’d need to continue therapy in Iraq. She’d need to see a specialist, and it would cost money that Haneen’s aunt didn’t have. Claudia Joy thought they could use some of the money in the FRG fund. However when she brought it up at the meeting, Jennifer Conners felt the money should go to issues and people at home first. Denise suggested they have a vote tomorrow, and both Claudia Joy and Jennifer scrambled to see how many votes they could get.

A soldier came by to see Claudia Joy to contribute personal money of his own for Haneen. He told her how important the translators were, how they were just as much part of their army as they were. He had a heart wrenching story about how his troops translator was gunned down right in front of him, and it was clear the man was the target and not the soldiers. Claudia had the man talk to the FRG about this, and the women all agreed to give the money to Haneen.

Finally, the War Games began, with Frank as the referee. Conners had cheated, he not only knew of Joan’s initial battle strategy, but he had a spy placed in Joan’s midst! Joan took serious hits on the first day, and she couldn’t figure it out. She eventually did though, and she set up a cocky Evan the next day by allowing him to capture phony battle plans. She creamed him in the end, and even got the kill-shot in on Evan herself.

Joan was the winner, but then she told Evan off. She decided to look through the portfolios of her commanding team and was shocked to find one member of her staff went to school with Evan. Both this guy and Evan found themselves in hot water.

Michael gave Evan a huge lecture. Not only had Evan suffered the biggest defeat in the history of these games, but his methods went against the spirit of these games. He told him that because the General looked highly on him, that there was a desk job at the pentagon for him, he suggested he take it! He also told Evan he still believes he has the makings of a good leader, but he has to decide what kind of leader he wants to be.

Joan told Trevor she would have Evan Conner’s letter of reprimand removed from his file, and she suggested he begin making preparations to take the Sergeant’s exam.

My Thoughts
Oh how sweet it was to see Evan go down in flames! Seriously, watching Joan get the kill shot in was awesome. I do admit though I had hoped Trevor was in on her plan and she would have let him do it.

Of course even sweeter than Evan going, is that his horrible witch of a wife will go with him. Bye bye Jennifer, we so won’t miss you . . . at all.

I guess I don’t really have too much to comment on. The majority of the show was the war games, and it was just awesome to see Joan come out on top.

Ghost Whisperer Cast Discuss “The Future”

Ghost Whisperer Cast Discuss “The Future”

Posted by Dustin on 07.28.2009 at 11:01 am

Live from the Comic-Con, Jennifer Love Hewitt and crew gave interviews to “Entertainment Tonight” about the new season.

The baby is born in the first episode, but then we jump ahead five years. We’ll meet some of Eli’s family. Ned is in college. Dehlia is dating and back to real-estate. Jim and Melinda are dealing with parenthood and trying to make sense of their child’s powers. Apparently the child is going to be able to open portals to other dimensions and reveal new beings.

You can watch the interview on video below.

Do you think some of this is going a little too far? The last bit of the video makes me think they might be jumping the shark big time this season.

True Blood: Tru Blood Becomes A Real Drink!

True Blood: Tru Blood Becomes A Real Drink!

00105736-391289_281 At Comic-Con this past week, it was revealed that “Tru Blood,” the beverage from the show, will be available as a real drink in September. You can pre-order it now on the drink’s website TruBeverage.com.

All that is known is that it is described as “crisp, slightly tart, lightly sweet tang, and a deep red color to match the appearance of the Tru Blood product featured on the True Blood series.” It doesn’t seem to be alcoholic, though you can of course add a liquor of your choice I’m sure.

True Blood: In The Church Of The Poison Mind

True Blood: In The Church Of The Poison Mind

Posted by Dustin on 07.27.2009 at 7:32 pm

As usual, a quick recap of the show, then some thoughts. Also I got a capture card working again finally, so I can add some photos! However given it takes extra time to do so, I can’t promise to do this all the time for every show 🙂

At the Church of the Sun, Luke and Jason were given a special task by Steven and Sarah Newlin, to build a platform and a cross. It was for a ceremony where they’d be staking and then exposing a vampire to the sun at dawn! Luke said it was an honor, Jason was a bit perplexed.

As they worked, Jason question Luke about being abstinent. Luke told him was what the bible commanded until marriage. He then explained how some sins pertaining to sex were forgivable, unless he did it with a vampire, a dude, or a vampire dude.

Sookie Sees The Light Meanwhile Sookie and the male companion of Isabelle’s decided to pose as a couple and infiltrate the church (Isabelle being one of Godrich’s assistants). They were pretending to be a couple looking for a new church to wed at. Before heading off, the guy and Sookie talked about being in a relationship with a vampire. He said the thing they fought most about was Isabelle turning him. She wouldn’t, but he couldn’t help but worry about how one day he’d be old and she would be the same; how could the vampires still love them?

They headed to the church, but it seemed Steven saw right through them. He knew exactly who Sookie was, and he planned to use her somehow. When she read his mind that he had a 2000 year old vampire in the basement, she tried to high-tail it out of there. Steven however locked her and the guy up in the basement, planning to use them somehow. He said something like “let’s see if she can really read minds and will lead them to us.”

Sarah Seduces Jason Sarah found herself disgusted by her husband, especially after he called Sookie “The C Word.” She went to Jason to seduce him yet again. She insisted she knew she was to be with him, as God told her. Jason of course believed her when she said she “spoke with God.” Clearly Jason didn’t realize that she wasn’t having a full blown conversation with God. She also told Jason that Steven was a bad man who was looking to start a war.

TB-7-26-billflash Elsewhere, Eric called Bill’s maker Loretta to Dallas. He wanted her to go after Bill, leaving Sookie available for him. When Loretta referred to Sookie as just a human, Eric said she was much more . . . he wasn’t sure what she was though.

Loretta had a series of flashbacks to when she and Bill went on a killing rampage in the 1920s. They seemed to be pretty close. She remembered them posing as entertainers from France, performing in a speakeasy. They killed a couple and Bill stole the necklace from the female to give to her, which she still had and wore.

Loretta Pins Bill As Sookie was being dragged into the basement below the church and screaming, Loretta pinned Bill so he couldn’t help her. She said she was his maker, and thus he could never overpower her! She knew what he was thinking too, as his blood knows hers. He was thinking of his human.

Back in Bon Temps, several other issues were going on. Hoyt stood up to his mommy, who shut off his cell phone that she was paying for because he was receiving calls from a girl at all hours of the night. She thought there was only one kind of word for a girl like that. He said that she was his girlfriend, he would be with her, and the reason for the late calls was because she was a vampire! That just about killed his mom! He later went to Dallas to find Jessica to explain why she hadn’t heard from him in days. We assume they finally did the deed!

Lafayette had a fabulous time on a gay cruise Lafeyette was questioned by Andy, who is still out to prove himself as a cop and figure out who killed that Voodoo woman. He scared Lafayette BLEEPless when he threatened to lock him up in a cell if he didn’t tell him where he had been for 2 weeks. The other cook (the war vet) came to Lafayette’s rescue, recognizing “post traumatic stress syndrome” when he saw it. Lafayette crumbled into the corner, imagining Eric was screaming at him and threatening to lock him up.

Eric’s assistant put Lafayette back in the business of selling V, claiming he did owe them for not killing him. We got no reason from her as to why she wanted this.

Daphne and Sam were still fooling around. They went out on a shape shifting frolic in the woods, where Andy driving home saw them. Daphne shifted into a pig, the one Andy recognized from Maryanne’s weird house-orgy a few weeks back.

Ring Around The Rosies? Elsewhere, Eggs and Tara went on a trip to a town over to get a part for the hot water heater at Sookie’s place. It broke. On the way Eggs had her stop the car. He recognized where they were, but he didn’t know how. He lead her far into the woods, they walked for over an hour. They found some weird circle where some ritual had happened. There was blood all over some rocks. He knew he had been here, he didn’t know what happened or how he knew, but he knew.

Maryanne Is A Bull-Headed B.....! Tara and Eggs returned home to find Maryanne conducting one of her orgies in the backyard. She was vibrating as usual. Meanwhile Daphne led Sam into a trap. He was dragged into the camp, were Tara and Eggs were also taking part in the mindless orgy with most of the town. Daphne told Sam this was the end for him. She put a bull helmet on Maryanne, as a sacrificial knife was presented to her. It seemed Sam was to be the sacrifice!

My Thoughts
Hey Pig! So Daphne is in fact a rotten egg and on team Maryanne. As posted in my last thoughts as well, she was the pig! However that one I can’t take credit for 🙂

I can’t see Maryanne killing Sam. Maybe needing his blood for something, but not killing him. I mean we know they won’t kill Sam period. Next week’s previews show Daphne pleading with Sam about something, saying Maryanne is immortal. Famous last words!

Don't Kill Sam! I still think Lafayette has been put up to selling V to get leads on Godrich. Meanwhile the previews showed Eric going after that male assistant to Godrich, accusing him of murdering him. I am beginning to think that guy and Steven from “The Church” are in some weird conspiracy to start a human vs vampire war, but I don’t know why. What would they get out of it? What if Steven ISN’T human at all? Clearly he’s in the sun a lot, so he’s not a vampire. Werewolf? They have mentioned them here and there.

I am loving Jessica and Hoyt together. They are really great. I loved Hoyt telling his momma off as well.

Big Brother: On The Block Thanks To Jessie

Big Brother: On The Block Thanks To Jessie

Posted by Dustin on 07.26.2009 at 8:55 pm

After Jessie won HOH, Ronnie mouthed “Thank God” and Kevin saw it. Kevin knew Ronnie had something going with Jessie.

Casey and others hoped Jessie would do the right thing and send Ronnie home. Jessie kept telling his alliance that he had to do what was good for him. He told the DR that Ronnie didn’t lie to him and he was solid as far as he was concerned.

Natalie later told Ronnie not to distance himself from the house, and he was good no matter what. Ronnie felt he was safe with his alliance.

Russell confessed in the “Diary Room” that he made a secret deal with Ronnie. Russ is trying to play all angles himself!

After hearing Casey spouting off that Jessie would have a target on his back if he didn’t get Ronnie out, Natalie went to Jessie and Russell. They decided it was time for Casey to go.

Jessie and Lydia’s romance blossomed on screen, while tension between the Lydia-Natalie-Jessie triangle flourished.

Russell decided to kiss ass to rebuild bridges. He started with Michelle, but she wasn’t buying it. Michelle however realized she needed to start talking game. Michelle went to talk to Jessie (who was with Natalie) and she threw Jordan under the bus. Natalie asks Michelle if she didn’t go home this week, and she was to win HOH, that she’d spare them. Michelle basically talked out of both sides off her ass, and Jessie wasn’t buying it.

The “Have Have Not” competition was played. Only one person from each team could play. It was Kevin, Chima and Jordan playing against each other. The game was a Nascar/Racing theme. They had to race through an obstacle course (wearing beer goggles) and collect ice cubes to place in the cups of those they wanted on slop. At the end of the game, the Brains were back to being “The Have Nots.” They also were told thanks to America’s vote, they were allowed to eat cabbage and cocktail weenies.

Jordan went to talk to Jessie and co-HOH Natalie about getting rid of Ronnie.

There is another “America’s Vote” for what the “Have Nots” are also allowed to eat. These include Squash and Squid, Brussels Sprouts and Borscht, and Liverwurst and Black Licorice.

Lydia picked a fight with Natalie, who as of yet, has shared a bed with anyone (it seems each week beds disappear, so 2 people always have to sleep together). Kevin warned her that she was looking for trouble, as Nat was in tight with Jessie. Meanwhile Natalie went to Jessie and said she would no longer talk to or act civil with Lydia.

The nomination ceremony went down and Jessie put up Michelle against Jordan.
Jessie claimed he did not even give a reason why he did so. Michelle was scared, while Jordan hoped they were pawns to backdoor Ronnie. Jessie meanwhile hoped he could win the POV over either of them so he could backdoor who he might want. Ronnie however was thrilled.

Some “After Dark/Feeds” spoilers after the jump!

Big Brother: Evicted & The New HOH

Big Brother: Evicted & The New HOH

Posted by Dustin on 07.23.2009 at 8:52 pm

A really quick cap, as I have company for the next few days.

Laura went out by a vote of 8-1. Natalie voted to evict Jordan, only to create drama in the house as to who the lone dissenter might be.

The HOH game was played, which involved them shooting a ball into a large target via a teeter-totter thing that flung the ball. It was a variation of skeetball in a way. The person with the highest score became the new HOH.

Jeff and Jessie tied, so they had to do a tie breaker shot. The new HOH is . . . .

JESSIE

I don’t think I can watch the Jessie show again . . . . .

SERIOUSLY!

Jesse Metcalf Returns To Housewives

Jesse Metcalf Returns To Housewives

Posted by Dustin on 07.23.2009 at 6:57 pm

He was rumored to return last year for the season finale, but it didn’t happen. Reportedly the reason was too much else was going on in that episode. However Marc Cherry tells TV Guide he is coming back as “John the Gardner” for at least two episodes next season. Apparently Gabrielle’s niece sets her sites on John as a way to get back at Gabrielle and make her miserable.
